I think they should have a 2 year launch cycle for phones, itll allow them to further optimize last gen phones softwares even more and improve their overall brand image.
hardware is so powerful nowadays that I agree... More meaningful and stable iterations.
Well, Let them stick to yearly launch, we can switch skip one launch. I am upgrading from S 21 Ultra to 23 Ultra, and I can see a significant upgrade in a span of 24 months. My friends who upgraded from S20 Ultra to 22 Ultra felt the same.

Got mine in yesterday. It's a massive difference for me coming from an S10+. Happy about the new GB upgrade. Love how responsive it is and the speakers. When I need a new phone, it will probably be in 5+ years. So far a good investment.
I also have an S10+ and thinking of jumping to S23 Ultra. The only downside I see is that there is no 3.5mm jack which I use so often.
@@abdurrazzaqmohiuddin4930 Same here. My car doesn't have Bluetooth for music, just phone calls for whatever reason. The industry trying to force the 3.5mm jack out is the most annoying thing that just takes features from the customer. Then these companies either ignore the criticism or try to tell you how it's actually a good thing that the phones cost more and have less features, like they expect you to be grateful or something.

I jumped from a samsung Galaxy A71 to the S23 Ultra.. I haven't had a flagship phone since the S4.. so this is amazing for me.. the screen is insanely better than my last phone, and better than my SOs iPhone 13 pro max.. the sound coming from the phone itself truly surprised me.. the capabilities of the S pen has been fun too.. all around very happy with my decision to buy this

@flawles
It's a huge step up.. plus, my A71 wouldn't really charge anymore.. only certain charging cables would work, and it would only sometimes connect to my car.

I actually kind of like that Samsung hasn't changed their design. A really great idea for a new vid, would be to do a head to head comparison between all the flexibility and features of Nova Launcher and One UI on the NEW S23 Ultra. I am convinced that the experience with the Nova Launcher is much better, but I'd love to see it go head to head with the One UI's newest edition. I tried to stay on the One UI skin when I first got my S23U, but kept running into limitations which made me long for Nova. All the extra gestures, instead of just three, allow me to really use my phone so much more efficiently. And having more choices for app grids on the home screen and app screen was a must, instead of being limited to just a few choices on One UI. Please do a head to head, and let's see if I'm missing something or not. Thanks.
Nova is the way.
@@SVW1976Nova Launcher is great, but it seems to have become abandonware... 😕
Also the last major update (or one of them) did away with a host of features (scroll speed etc.) - I'm guessing it must've been a limitation of one of the incremental Android updates rather than an intentional decision to remove such an objectively beneficial mechanic from their launcher 🤷♀

All phone companies are changing/upgrading their products less and less for each launch. But is a new model in any predominant brand even necessary? Should make a video addressing this since you seem to have great impacts on the tech world. Love your videos btw great quality and thought put into each one!!!

5 months later... this phone is awesome!
7:27 There is just a tiny example on this photo to show that the 100x zoom on the S23 Ultra has been somehow improved and that is that on the photo with the grip cover case.
On the S23 you can see more of the rough texture than with the S22, and that is NOT only noise because on the S23 you can kinda make out that there are some white letters inside the case, whose say vertically 'SAMSUNG' , whereas with the S22, you only see a white line.
The zoom with the face impressed me honestly. I did not expect that
***PSA***
Remember folks, just like with the S20, just like with the S21 and just like with the S22 series last year, the camera quality we see at launch will NOT be the same camera quality 6-8 months down the line. Samsung always updates the camera quality, this is pretty much expected now, so if the camera quality is slightly improved now over the S22 series, then expect that margin to widen considerably after a few updates once again.
Samsung's AI models get trained as you use them, and the only way to improve the quality is to get these phones in real world hands in real world situation gathering that real world data.
So in effect, we consumers help improve the quality of the camera, and I'm all for that.
Never expect future updates, speculation isn't good evidence to make such a large financial decision
this is probably grounds for a good look at the cameras later down the line though
People don’t buy products with the “promise” that it will be better in the future. They buy it as is. While improvements are nice, we judge products as they are being sold. A “promise” for camera improvement is not guaranteed, something which ppl fail to realise
@@monetised4347 lol what do you mean by never expect updates 🤣🤣 Samsung always gives awesome updates making the phone better and better as u use it (only flagship ones)
@@thachronic100 Again, the evidence says it is a safe bet. Statistically there will be camera updates. Samsung has not slowed down in this department, they have sped up, and again, the evidence is all there to build statistics out of. The camera already appears great and better than the S22 Ultra, it can only ever get better still.
@@RobbieKhan people don’t buy a product for “promises”. If the camera disappoints and doesn’t improve, what recourse does the purchaser have? They can’t get a refund or compensation because Samsung might update to improve performance or camera function. Statistics don’t guarantee outcomes. If they reintroduced the micro-SD card, it would make a real difference. That external memory is so useful for large media files, either downloaded shows to watch on the go (perfect unlimited 5G doesn't cover the entire planet) or when you are recording a long event - say a recital or concert by a family member [one of the layers of hell BTW].
But for me no expandable memory is a deal breaker, these days it adds a TB… that can be swapped out in a emergency.

Mrwhosetheboss: OMG samsung hasn't changed their design! What had they done to their s23 ?
Apple: we've been doing this for years!
Changing the design of the phone body just for the sake of changing it when everyone loves the current design seems like a really bad idea. I’m so glad they kept that design because it’s just so clean. I love it.
If this happens with the S23 I secretly expect them to go with the big surprise on the Flip/Fold lineup. Seeing other companies like Oppo making a bigger outside screen, imagine the combination of Snapdragon gen 2 and a bigger screen on the flip!
I heard rumours that they have developed a new hinge that can reduce the overall thickness of the phone as well as eliminate the crease running down the middle of the big screen, all of that while still having the same waterproof rating. That's going to be wild.
and dont forget oppo is able to make a fully closed folding phone (both screen in touch with each other when closed without any gaps at all) unlike Samsung folding phones. Hope samsung will fix that

Getting my s23 ultra tomorrow
I have used my S22 Ultra for a few months now, and I can't complain about anything. I moved from an S10+ so the jump was miles big and it really felt like it deserved the money even though I paid like 900$ for the phone. Seeing the S23 Ultra, I have to say that, even though I love the design of the S22, keeping it the exact same is not one of the best moves that Samsung made. Also, I bought the S22 mostly for the camera, which didn't disappoint at all. Seeing the new camera, I can say that it is definitely an upgrade, but I cannot say that it is worth to go from an S22 Ultra to an S23 Ultra. If you really need a better camera, for almost 1300$ it would be better to buy a DSLR and get better photos and videos, as the S22 Ultra has a more than good camera for day to day photos. I can see myself buying a new phone when the S24 Ultra appears maybe. Then the jump would be higher and the difference would definitely be worth it. I just hope that Samsung doesn't randomly decide to reduce the quality of the cameras with dumb software updates
No one is actually going to pay 1300 for it though. Verizon is offer 800 in trade in on my s10+, that's more than I paid for it 🤣

Finally. Hopefully they will go back to the square look from the note's back in the mid 2000's. I've hated the rounded edging, but just love my notes, so I've dealt with the rounded edging. I'm just tired of sliding off the screen while typing and the screen protectors don't stay attached on the edges.
That finger flicking speed at 13:20 😅
The chip is the reason for the speed of the camera as well. The better and faster the chip, the faster and better it can shoot, store and move on. Ive still got My s20+ and I'm not sure I can justify 1200$ for a New phone, just because i really want it 😄 but it looks really good
Same. Got the 20plus too. But don't know if needed to upgrade. Letting all reviews come 1st.
I got the phone for £1190 for the pre order and I got hte wtach 4 classic and a case for that price. for the 512gb model. I would say its worth it
I got the s22 ultra and I think I will upgrade.
@@brng1755 If you trade in the s22 ultra you get 630 off. But I think it would depend on where you live. I
I have the S20 FE and still don't wanna lose the SD card.😕
With the pixel beyond the grouped pixels is grouped micropixels which is why proper 200MP cameras take better photos because the surface area of the lens is bigger meaning you can get that perfect 200MP shot
I have the S20fe5 and I am thinking about the S23. This is a great review and now I am actually more excited about upgrading 😊
😮 Samsung really thought about the photo features..
I remember upgrading from the S10+ to the S22+ and I am enjoying the S22+, but I just dislike how the battery is really bad at the last 10% where it drains significantly faster than the S10+. Also, the vibration isn't as strong as the S10+ for some reason where I sometimes miss calls on vibration or notifications.
Loved my s10e, I wouldn't consider a single Samsung flagship released after it.
Yeah I have s22 U the vibration is such a downgrade from the s21 U
I will go from s10 to 23 ultra!
The battery on the S22 Ultra is shockingly bad. I turned on additive battery and after a few days it just keeps battery saver on 24/7 to maintain charge for a day. It's awful.
@@nisharana6592 I got s10 as well, planning to get s23
Every single video of this guy is so rich in details and not focused towards tech geniuses. I love this channel ❤️
Been a Fan since the early days, love your vids ❤️

I got mine yesterday. Coming from a Note 10+ and the difference is really noticeable. The screen is far more vivid, thanks to the new and faster memory chips applications get installed much faster, the camera got better as well, especially in low light environments. For users with S22 Ultra this is probably not that huge upgrade, but for me it was. The Snapdragon is definitely one of the best features of this phone.
Which carrier?
@@jmackinjersey1 I got mine directly from the Samsung Germany webshop, without a contract.
Thinking of upgrading ftom a note10+ too.. does the s23 camera intergrate better with apps? Battery life? Heating?
Will do trhe same. Was it worth the upgrade?
@@domgdesign299 for me yes, technically I feel the diference when comparing with Note 10+, but the price is still a big discussion point.. If you are currently on a S21 or S22 generation, the impact is not that huge.
I love this content. Simply, but effectively covers everything a user needs to know about this phone. Keep it up Arun!
I got one of these and its a powerful beast
This review is so good 👌🏾
Bro u were so enthusiastic about this phone. I preordered it and after watching it I’m ready to get my hands on it right now! U literally sold this phone! And thanks for explaining the pixels. Some may not understand how complex and important it is with camera quality upgrades, but u did a great job explaining it.
I swear even if he doesn’t rickroll us in a video the mere expectation we have is a rickroll, the guy rickrolled us so much. Great job Arun!!
All round great phone and yes i noticed how better the speaker sounds.
The sound really fills up the speaker, none of this tinny thin sound that i have experienced with previous phones.
Your video sealed it for me. Im getting it.
Samsung has really stepped it up this year, i wasn’t expecting so much from this phone and just thought they were rebranding the s22 ultra with a 200mp camera but no. Samsung have actually impressed me and many others, can’t wait for the full camera test and review Arun!
You can say its more or less qualcomm who impressed. this time their sd gen 2 was actually able to rival neck to neck with A16. It has great performance and efficiency(even better than A16 itself in GPU test) and might defeat iphones in battery test. well lets see.
@@TheRealGigaCat such exciting stuff so early in the year
Impressed you with what?😅 They've changed nothing
@@jonyb4 Why should they change? It's already a gorgeous device.
@@jonyb4 for you who only look at phone as a social status, they changed nothing. For us who look for features in a phone, they have changed everything. The new chip in that body is the best thing anyone could ask for.
Do some research and find out the abilities of that new chip and then decide.
Great video as always, eagerly waiting for the battery comparison test 👍👍👍
Just got this it is such an amazing phone. it's amazing 👏
I hope the cameras on the Ultra find their way to the Fold 5. I'm so jealous of the S23 Ultra's camera but I can't go back to a regular slab from the Fold 4.
Why? Plastic screens suck.
exactly, when you have a tablet in your hands everywhere is hard to go back
@@bc_usa "Plastic screen" which doesn't feel like that in person isn't the reason people love their fold
@@vervetech9395 bro it feels plastic oled is better with glass
@@fabolousjada5070 Only Fold users can give their opinion on that and so far most haven't complained
Your videos are very entertaining and nicely and beautifully edited. Never stop posting 💙
I just upgraded from my note 10 plus, as trade in values are too good to ignore. It's clear that it was the blue print for these phones . I feel like all I really did was get a noticeably better camera ..... and as you mentioned a sharpened design.. I felt for the 300 dollar price gap it was about time for a new device.
That's what I just traded in as well. That was a good phone with some specs that were ahead of their time for sure. It kind of makes me mad it was not supported longer especially for the price.
I'm currently using the note 10plus to type this Lol! Would you say it's worth the upgrade? I bought this brand new and its sad that they've discontinued it. I truly like the feel of this slim feel it has now. The ultra 22 and 23 just seem a bit bulkier to me and don't look as sleek and elegant. What's your opinion on having trading yours in? Was it worth it?
I got mine yesterday. 💗 It's the best i ever had. 💓
This is an incredible video, explaining the details we want in a tech reviewer.
I love the excitement you bring to your videos!! Looking forward to getting my hands on the S23 Ultra!
