Thanks again. Spent years looking for a piano teacher who can teach me composition and piano playing and found all I needed here. Learning to improvise has made composing a joyful experience

You have summarized some of the things I have thought about very well.
It is truly a darn shame that brilliant people like this are hidden in the depths so to speak, but in some twisted way it only makes sense.
Generally speaking, people like what they are raised and conditioned to like which is majority… “easy” “digestible”.
There may come a time in history when brilliant people like En Blanc or people he has inspired break into popular culture. I hope and pray for that day…

@@rjdubu1485 It is a quite recent thing. In the past, artists were actually really good. Otherwise it was imposible to make a living for them.
I also think that today people tend to mass consume easy content rather than really learning. I'm sure it's because tiktok trends (and other "instant" content) are more flashy and stimulate the dopamine system...
Lets pray for the sake of internet ^^

Generally speaking, other elements you can take into account when making videos in a particular style, in this case in the style of Chopin, is to put yourself in the composer's place by choosing a technical angle, an original discovery, something he didn't do and putting yourself in his place, imagine how he could have used and developed it

Wow - this is truly 'moving' - you have elevated the Romanesca into something sublime. That was *amazing*! :)

@@en-blanc-et-noir The Cambridge Dictionary states: "Sublime: extremely good, beautiful or enjoyable" - I thought it was all three :) For a study, especially. It makes me anticipate more original creative work from you - I am a sucker for Romantic era stuff like this, so - thanks!

Sounds like some of those rhythmic things Beethoven wrote (later in his life?). Can't remember what they're called, but the heavily-syncopated chords alternating between hands with octaves in the bass is very reminiscent of it - to me at least :)

First of all, congratulations for this particularly difficult exercise... by increasing the speed to 1.5 times it's more fluid for playing on the piano... also would it be possible for you to make more lyrical, more melodic sentences ? Chopin often made a fairly simple melody that he replayed and adorned with more and more notes... and some evolutions or variations in the progression of the chords... Honestly, I would really like it if you could do longer musical pieces 2 or 3 minutes in this style... as Chopin did, one of the favorite composers... these are just my thoughts of the moment and nothing is obligatory obviously, you do what you want and you do it very well... I follow your videos every time with the greatest attention because they are of incredible quality and clarity, to say in this category there is no better on UA-cam... You are the best... keep on to make us dream and to share with us your passion for the piano... it's so rare what you do 👍

Yo Lionel, thanks for ya comment. I have an explanation for my choice of tempo: That Romanescas on the first page include the suspension chain in the top voice and I usually go for a slower tempo when I'm trying to show a counterpoint, so that the dissonances can still be perceived. But you're right about the general tempo, I can pretty much relate to that and it'd be probably better to go for a quicker tempo for the big picture instead...

Can you do a video on the mazurka, Chopin brings out his on entity rather than a typical romantic style is more revolutionary and modern in terms of harmony. I really want to see your ingenuity be applied to the complex harmony of Chopin Mazurka even a tutorial on how to make one in a chopinesque way
