      The impact is about the same. Lactose free milk is created by adding the lactase the enzyme to break down lactose pre-consumption, as most lactose-intolerant people lack sufficient amounts of this enzyme to properly break it down themselves. Lactase breaks down lactose into the simple sugars glucose and galactose, so whether that's done within the body or beforehand, it's still producing sugar. Lactose free milk actually tastes sweeter than regular milk because of this pre-consumption breakdown to sugars. But it all still ends up as the same amount of sugar overall.

    • @sheldonf
      @sheldonf 16 днів тому

      @@ladykilgore2337 I don't know about your explanation, but I do know that lactose-free milk does not give me the gas that regular milk does. As such, I will continue to use it.

    Also Raw milk, sheep, goat?? So raw , and just regular sheep and goat??

    • @SugarMDs
      @SugarMDs  18 днів тому +1

      @julianroccopesa3491, while the sugar content in raw, sheep, and goat milk is not high, they’re still capable of raising blood sugar levels. It's always advisable to consume these in moderation and monitor your glucose levels. For more information, please visit my website SUGARMDS.COM.

    What about 2% low fat milk?

    • @jazmo6662
      @jazmo6662 14 днів тому

      It's high in Lactose

    • @SugarMDs
      @SugarMDs  12 днів тому

      Hello @harryedmunds6652, 2% milk is a better choice compared to full-fat, but still moderation is key due to sugar content. Opt for unsweetened almond milk or other low-carb alternatives for a safer option.

    I drink 2% fat organic milk. This video doesn't mention 2% milk.

      @SugarMDs  12 днів тому +1

      Hi @GregSr, 2% milk still has some fat and carbs. If it's fitting well into your diet and blood sugars are in control, it's fine. Also, remember moderation is key for any food. Thanks for your comment!

    Isn't all milk plant based?

    • @SugarMDs
      @SugarMDs  12 днів тому +1

      Hi @speavy, typically when we refer to 'plant-based milk' we mean alternatives like almond, soy, or oat milk. Cow's milk, which is most common, is an animal product.

    Hmm, this causes me concern as I love my dairy fresh skim milk! Now I have to rethink this dairy routine which includes my low fat cheeses!

    • @SugarMDs
      @SugarMDs  18 днів тому

      @georgesweap7 I understand your concern. Remember, everything in moderation. You don't have to completely eliminate dairy, just reduce your intake and make healthier choices. Smoothies with no sugar added almond milk would be a good option.
