I don’t have diabetes but insulin resistance. Meaning I am always high on the normal range. Example fasting is always 95 and post meal is always 140. But now my post meal is improving slightly by eliminating all only carb foods - flour, rice, cookies, potatoes, processed foods. The carbs I am able to handle are fruits (not grapes), surprisingly sugar like a small chocolate or a small macaron or a small pastry, one chapati. I now eat lots of lentils and vegetables. Chicken, fish, eggs. Best is to use a glucometer to see which foods you are sensitive to (each body is different) and eliminate them. Why I personally can handle sugar (even 8 teaspoons of sugar does not spike my sugar levels) but small amounts of rice, potatoes and bread put me over the edge I don’t know. It’s a surprising revelation since I can indulge in a small dessert everyday while cutting other carbs. Makes me both happy and healthy. So my advice find what you are sensitive to using a glucometer. You may find you are not as sensitive to a food you like to consume (but in moderation).
thanks
Really insightful, @sk4348! Good job on listening to your body's reactions to different foods. Keep monitoring your glucose levels and working on your diet. Remember, balance is key!
The tragedy is that most doctors either don’t know the stuff you can learn on UA-cam, or won’t tell.
Hi @LKaramazov, it is important to find a knowledgeable and understanding healthcare provider. Everyone deserves to be informed. Glad that our channel helps fill in those gaps for you. Stay tuned for more!
My A1C went from 6.1 down to 5.8. So I had to have slashed my risk quite well. But it still needs work. Watching what I eat and getting in exercise (really any kind of physical activity) has really helped me.
Also peppermint tea has become a favorite go to drink of mine. Good for the immune system, digestive system and blood sugar control.
Thank you Dr.for that information ❤❤❤
Thank you. This video was for me. I mess up on my eating. very informative ❤
Thanks.
Nice!!!

Congratulations rose
I had surgery last year, BMX, then TC chemo, my blood sugars where under control before this mess, during the cancer treatments, the blood sugar was 200 almost all the time, the A1C shot up. I am glad I have my A1C at 6.1 and keeping the blood sugar in check now. I did not know that surgery and chemo would cause so much damage to the blood sugar.
🙏🏻for healing.
@@margaretcastellano3167 Thank you, blessings to you.
@shenanigans8799, great work on getting your A1C back down! Yes, stress and certain medical treatments can disrupt blood sugar control. Keep taking care of yourself, and thanks for sharing your experience. It could help others in similar situations! 💪🩺
@@SugarMDs Thank you for your kind words, and your videos, you have helped me so much. I'm going to reverse this!!
All good info, thanks Doc.
WOW I dropped from 8% A1C to 6.4% so maybe I slashed risk by 50%.
@edgaracevedo9658 That's great news! Keep up the good work. Consistency is key.
My A1c went from 10.5 to 7.6, I had to go thru another round of elimination. Sugar alcohols and things are sugar free are not so sugar free. So currently going completely sugar free unless its a natural fruit etc. White flour and I don't get along either. Been monitoring with a CGM that has helped alot,
Great job @marilynvelez8147! It sounds like you're truly dedicated to managing your health and you're seeing the results. Keep it up and stay tuned for more helpful tips!
I wish your products are also available in the Philippines. Much love and respect to you, Dr. Ergin!

What I would give to have him as my doctor sigh
@smendoza7233 Thanks for the kind words! Although I may not be able to be your personal doctor, I can still help here with valuable advice and insights! Keep watching!
I live in an assisted living center. I have type 2 diabetis and borderline 3-4 kidney failure. My Dr sent a script for non insulin diabetic diet and the dietitian here said some sientific formula that ive never heard of says that what i get to eat is good every day is Pasta loaded with cheese im not supposed to have Ham Sasage Bacon or Processed meats but thats what we usually get what am i supposed to do
Hi @calvinhesselgesser5133, understanding your diet is crucial for managing diabetes. I would recommend seeking out a second opinion from another dietitian or nutritionist, if possible. In the meantime, stick to whole foods as often as possible, even if it means making slight modifications to what's being served. Please keep watching my channel as I frequently post videos regarding diabetic-friendly diet. Stay strong!
@@SugarMDs Thank you for the advise thats what ive been doing. Maybe through the VA i can get a specialest that can help i havent had any training other than what i do for myself
my A1C was 5.5 a few years ago and now is 5.2 yet, my blood sugar level iwas120 this morning and 105 after a 14 hour fast. After a 20 hour fast can get it down to 100. post meals after 2 hours can range from 150-180. Problems for last 4 years. gained 50 lbs over last 3 years Going to my 3rd endo. Says no DM, just insulin resistance. I have fatigue and sometimes brain fog. need a miracle.

Education education to be healthy and reverse your chronic metabolic diseases. Healthy lifestyle.
@dr.samierasadoonalhassani2669 Absolutely! Education is key to managing these conditions properly. Keep spreading the knowledge!
I didnt know diabetics can donate blood. If we do, how does it affect our blood sugar and A!C?
Doctors are not taught health and prevention of diseases but we learn diseases and treatment which too late. Our health now is our responsibility not doctors not drugs . Time we spend with our own health and care is much longer than a doctor visits.
Absolutely, @dr.samierasadoonalhassani2669! Prevention and self-care are indeed crucial. We always encourage our viewers to take control of their health. Stay tuned for more videos related to managing and preventing diabetes. Keep sharing your thoughts!
Good information I chose the raw vegan diet!

Not apart of this video but why do overnight oats make my sugar spike
Another sad fact is that a lot of information you give are not provided to us by our doctors.
@brormel1674, this is why I started the SugarMD channel, to share medical insights that everyone can access. Thank you for watching and supporting this mission.
Diabetes is insidious. You can never be quite sure what damage it is doing ,
Yes if kept in check and managed well it won't cause serious problems but if not controlled it can be cause of all deadly diseases as well as amputations. I'm a high end prediabetic my hba1c reached 6.23% but now it's 5.4% I have worked really hard to get them low
@@Chris-vt6nl Good job.
@carolablue5293, absolutely right! That's why we need to keep track of it and manage it well. Stay tuned for more informative videos, and remember, knowledge is power!
You really think that Barberine really works>????? MINDY
It works for me. A1C 5.2 down from 5.7 in 6 months. Morning glucose 82.
Definitely, and his dehydrated Berberine is the best I've found.
It works if you are careful with what you eat. Don't think it is a magic bullet but if you do your part it will do it's part.
