      set dshot_idle_value = 300
      profile 0
      # profile 0
      set vbat_pid_gain = ON
      set iterm_relax_type = GYRO
      set iterm_relax_cutoff = 7
      set p_pitch = 78

      set d_pitch = 82
      set f_pitch = 112
      set p_roll = 72
      set i_roll = 111
      set d_roll = 75
      set f_roll = 105
      set p_yaw = 77
      set i_yaw = 117
      set f_yaw = 105
      set d_min_roll = 0
      set d_min_pitch = 0

I am really enjoying the direction that this channel has taken. It went from a "cool pilot showcase" to a truly informational channel. Don't get me wrong, having an occasional flight video for the sake or showing a cool flight is cool, and even a decent vlog can be appropriate. But people like information, and they come to youtube to find information... not just to see cool guys do cool things, especially when the "cool stuff" gets repetitious. Anyway, I *REALLY* enjoy Shawn's builds coupled with Bubby's abilities and fresh attitude. Great job!

Having double the motors means having to use roughly only 60% of the power they normally would. Also keeping the props turning slower and able to be banged up without breaking. Many pros, major con is the extra weight and drag. The bottom props can stay stuck in the grass until the top props pulls the quad up. Amazing!

    • @Vousie
      @Vousie 3 роки тому

Nah. Landing is easy: Fly it near the ground and just disarm. Taking off is the problem. However you do it, you'll be doing some damage to the props unless you take off from a wooden block or something that holds it in the centre without touching the props... At that point it's easier to just put landing gear on it.

Honestly, just for carrying a GoPro, would you recommend buying a cinalifter with 8 motors and putting a much bigger battery on it? Seems dumb, but I kinda wana try…

Have you thought about an X8 3D. The upper 4 Motors for the up direction, and the lower 4 ones for the other dirction. So the change to reverse should go smoother... some idea for Shawn?

I'd be interested to see what would happen if you put a higher pitch prop on the bottom motors and how much better flight times you would get with that setup.

Here are the CLI changes I made using Betaflight 4.2.6 with blheli_s esc:
      set dshot_idle_value = 300
      profile 0
      # profile 0
      set vbat_pid_gain = ON
      set iterm_relax_type = GYRO
      set iterm_relax_cutoff = 7
      set p_pitch = 78
      set i_pitch = 117
      set d_pitch = 82
      set f_pitch = 112
      set p_roll = 72
      set i_roll = 111
      set d_roll = 75
      set f_roll = 105
      set p_yaw = 77
      set i_yaw = 117
      set f_yaw = 105
      set d_min_roll = 0
      set d_min_pitch = 0
