Awesome edit, interior came out sick
Thanks for the help Sam!
FunNominal You guys rock, bringing these old Fords back to life and personalizing
them. Back where I used to live, my 72 F100 was completely rotted to the point where
it was JUNK by 82.
Number one? Dang i need to get off UA-cam and get back to pinstriping lol
That Flock did the job that helps me with my project car. You guys are awesome !!!!
See? Here I am a subscriber, I have an anemic Ford Ranger. Now you gave me something to think about. My idea was simply a '94 4wd STX Extended cab, to load a 4.6l with auto and keep the 4wd, so beef up the rear and front axles and driveshafts , etc. Now, it;s gonna be that color, with flocked dash! Even at 64, I still see the value of watching you young guys with great ideas! Thank You,, all you guys!
"This is SEMA quality ". Man I miss those days driveway wrenching with my buddies.
Thanks for posting something we don't see often or ever. I mean, I enjoy seeing people doing the same things but their own way a lot. But I never knew how easy it could be to flock a less than perfect dash pad instead replacing it! Great tips too.
I remember 2 or 3 years ago they were showing flocking dash repair on Y T ,you young fellas did a good job on the truck !
That’s why I love old pickups man can just paint the metal interiors and they come out nice.
A better way to get your flock on would be to use a siphon sand blast nozzle and spray it at low pressure. You'll get a more even coating. Might use more flock but get a better result.
That's a dam good camera, It showed where the cracks were after the flock was applied and the dash reinstalled. . I think the flock would of covered it better if you would of removed more of the old vinyl from the cracks and sanding the cracks in a V before applying the filler. That's how I do the repairs before I cover then in new vinyl or leather.
Craig. Nice job on his dashboard if you or anyone is going to do it try. 80 grit sand cracks, fiberglass the cracks is where your at. Use fleece and fiberglass resin spray contact glue on the dashboard put your fleece down staple the edges all the way around then fiberglass resin the fleece. Harden sand dash, then bondo imperfections, sand and primer and I thought was the best to finish coat is Rust-Oleum (red label) bed spray liner coating. Then just paint to match interior. Or just watch Sprayway's UA-cam video on dashboard refinishing. The guy is simply the best in all restoration. On everything. Your boys did a great job for the first time. Nice..
Team Boosted did this on their 240z turned out pretty awesome. I definantly want to give it a try some time

Awesome job guys like the group effort that's how my friends and I got a lot accomplished
Thanks. Looking up the Flock stuff now. The dash turned out unbelievable.
What a memory jolt! In the middle to late sixties there were several shops springing up in Central Florida. They used an electrostatic spraying system on anything metallic, and even flocked whole cars! Worked OK on the average rust bucket cars in the beach areas. It hid a LOT of sins!
I have done a few flocking jobs myself, and I'd like to pass along a some tips for your friend. #1 Use latex or nitrile gloves, it beats the hell out of trying to get the glue off your skin. #2 Use the flocking inside your garage with the windows and doors closed, and a plastic drop cloth under your work surface. This will allow you to recover the over-sprayed flocking (and there will be A LOT of it, actually more than half) so it can be used to either finish this job, or on another. #3 Eye protection and a face mask to prevent inhaling.
Lay down some satin clear coat on that dash for a really great look. Paint the metal part of the steering wheel to match the dash. Look on Amazon for this smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B01E7EGARQ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 to touch up the silver dash trim, it has a pretty nice chrome look, but it does need a clear coat to protect it.
i never heard of flock before this. And what i see in this video i like. That dash looks good. Thanks for showing
Dash came out GREAT!! Love the colors..
Dude! You guys did a freaking Awesome job on that dash! It looks totally Sweet! Nice fab job. ⚒️🛠️✅🗜️🔧👌👍🤘👏
I've never seen Craig in such HD 😂 great video. Doing this to my dash
Man she looks so good. Can’t wait to do this to an old 78 bronco I am trying to get.
Yes Love that Sonic blue, found some caliper paint in that color
LMC Truck . All that perfect match paint is lacquer will need a clear over it , I spray nason spot clear over it looks stellar.
If he ever actually races that truck the flocking is going to hold soooo much dust and dirt, it's crazy. But it looks real nice for a street truck very clean. I have that same color on my center console, and break calipers !!! 😄
How in the world did you not have glue on your hand? If I were doing that I would have it in my eye brows. Also, I work in furniture (sofas and stuff) , so I have access to stuff that you guys don’t. I used a closed cell foam that is used on auto insulation in .220 thickness. We also had a remnant of Italian leather in bone. The truck is tropical turquoise with Coker Artillery and Baby moons.

I still love all ur videos because keeping old trucks on the roads. Oh and If You're Not First Your Last. Lol
That is a Great repair! Keep On Truckin’🤟😁
I may have to try this technique on my '65 Skylark dash.
This reminds me of a paint job that my cousin's boyfriend did on his 55 Chevy back in the 60's. The paint stood up about a good eight of an inch and made the car look like it needed a shave. As a young kid I thought what happens when he leaves the car out side and it rains.?
Remember after you brush the dash down Get the Flock out of there!! LOL Good show Guy's.
Really does look good! Congratulations 👏 👏 👏 👏 👏 👏 👏 👏 👏 👏
Looks great. That’s going to be a sick ride!!
that dashpad is crazy cool!
That sonic blue POPS
It’s about time you help Shawn out Craig. Lol
Btw, "spraywaycustoms" does a mean dash restoration on his UA-cam Chanel. Check it out.
Number 2 again this show is awesome
It's hard to clean when it gets dusty! May have to use air hose to do best job!
What the flock! Cool stuff
Looks good man.
Flock yea man!
My buddy used flex glue to fix his
That dude with that death will cutting it on his leg he's crazy what the flock is flock
Looks much better. 🤘😎🇺🇸
Sweet looks great. Guys. 👌 Nice.
I searched and found at least 6 videos about flocking your dash on youtube. It has been done before many times. Spray way customs also describe how to do a dash repair. He does great work, just saying.
I meant classic Ford truck specific but didn’t specify my b haha.
@@Thecraig909 Thank you for responding to my comment. I do enjoy watching your videos. My truck is newer than yours and I have done most the improvements myself. Putting window tint on was fun but a pain in the ass as well.. thanks again. J.R.
Looks awesome
my ford ranger was sonic blue, i loved it
Love the Cheeta shifter!
That’s was pretty cool
Everything came out awesome. I would paint the wood grain bezel. Doesn’t match the modern interior. Just my personal opinion.
9:20 this is why we call it the death wheel kid's.
Hey man never heard of the flock ,where do you get it from? Will it hold up to the sun without fading you think ?
I see the problem that your trying to fix I understand the concept of the flock , iam just not convinced the cracks won't come back but what do I know ...iam considering taking the cracked plastic off compleatly off and gluing some thick fake leather type fabric or getting a bunch of liquid rubber and dipping the whole pice kinda or maby that stuff you see on TV you know the one where the guy makes a boat out of some of the tape he stops leaks with it ...but he also has a roll on rubber that when dry it's still flexible and it's thick kinda like bed liner only not so rough maby the call it super flex or somthing ..as seen on TV
Where do you get the flock? What grit of sandpaper did you use for the dash?
Can you paint over the flock as well, if they don't have the color you need?
Does it have a horn? Lols real good.
What the flock? Sorry had to. It's getting to me because flock in my eyes is either soft spongey type stuff or little pieces of sawdust that you attach to the base of a miniature and the paint to look like bushes or grass for tabletop miniature wargames.. because I'm that kind of geek. (among many other things) A fix I've seen is to take a U shaped carbide bit (can't remember what they are called) or an aggressive rasp and you cut out the crack and the foam in it and then fill it with expanding foam and then cut it smooth and then cover it with expandable polyester filler (it's meant to have some give in it so it doesn't crack) and then paint it or cover it with fresh vinyl or whatever. The problem with cracks in things is they tend to like to come back up through whatever you put over them (including welds) so you want to fully remove them so there's no sharp parts for a crack to start from again.
I think a flake buster or any spray gun with a large orifice would make that job MUCH easier and probably easier to get an even coat on the dash.
"Oh my gad. Oh my gad. Oh my gad. Oh my gad." Sean (or Shawn) sounds like a Minnesota blonde on prom night.
craig bed liner in the can works better try it.thanks
- nick
Somebody was working while you two were flocking around.
Very cool!!!!!
What the Flock??
Sorry I had to 😂
Suggestion: paint the steering wheel spokes with the sonic bue pearl to match the dash...
I don't understand why they changed the blue if the steering wheel matches all the light blue if it ain't broke don't fix it
I hate to break ur bubble but Team Boosted did the same thing on 280z dash. Like week ago
What kind of rims are those on his truck
If your girlfriend asks you what you've been doing all day, Don't tell her you have been "flocking" all day. That would be a good way to lose a girlfriend. lol
Is that cheaper than a new dash?
Craig get rid of those grampa glasses you look hilarious 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
And you push them up like nerd 🤓
Buy some pitvipers or something better
Sweet probably do my 72 F100
Thank you....
Is it worth doing because my 75 c10 and my 73 f100 need a new dash but I don't really want to spend a 1,000 one dashes.
I’ve seen people use bed liner close to their interior color after repairing and smoothing it out with bondo like they did here. Bed liner lasts a good long while in the sun.
@@stuckgrenadepin.225 nice going to have to try it.
@@chevylandt.v if you look up “bed liner dash” you can see a few examples. Lots of DIY. If you wanted it to look really clean, I would suggest that you have a shop do it if you decide on it. Most of the ones I have seen it on are river toys and old beaters. It’s durable and easy to clean. That is what I like about it. YMMV.
@@stuckgrenadepin.225 oh ok thanks.
@@chevylandt.v hope whatever method you go with turns out great. I am trying to revive an 89 f350 and an 87 f150 right now. It’s a bit easier to find parts for those, but still not easy, or inexpensive so I will be using alternative methods to get them back up to their potential. At least as close as I can get them. The ‘cash for clunkers’ program was devastating to the classic car community.
Sahrantuned has a flocking video.
Don't Flog me bro🤪
Suggest do a small bit at a time with that flock so as not to have the glue dry up on you.....
Donut media did a video like this but just not with cool trucks
what i don't get is my 68 chevy is only 54 bucks for a new dash pad but my 70 high boy is 350 bucks and they are about the same size it just don't make any sense.
I do not get why you guys changed the paint when he has a sparco steering wheel that matches the light blue totally unessary
Why a tac that big? It's a auto for peats. shake. Just smash the gas and go.
Craig with glasses???
lol meet the flockers
You should have just stretched a nice piece of fabric or leather over that that's like a piece of cake part there to do
You will definitely hate that dash in the future EVERYTHING sticks to and it's hard to keep clean......Jesus wear a mask when you use that stuff
if you want to learn how to repair a dash check out sprayway customs
No cup holders? Jk
Nah! I don't think so.
I hate to be that guy. But you guys really should be wearing a respirator
Respiratory problems are no joke, so everyone should be “that guy” when they see someone not using one when they should be.
