I fell in love with his truck primed I love the look for some reason
awesome great job sean!
Dude I completely understand the paint job in a day thing I did that on a 66 four-door Nova and I totally understand it and I take my hat off to you guys and I wish you guys well on on the finishing of the job I think it's cool that you do you do you do what you do and and and it proves that people can do this stuff without having the tire of a paint shop to to do it so two thumbs up to you guys good luck with the car show and
Brings back memories
That truck looks awesome
HELL YEAH!! I’d run that paint job, that’s badass!!
reminds me of the old days mixing paint in Carl's Jr cups and spraying VWs all day...good times.
And naming your “sick mixture” something cool
Love this video, only thing that would make that truck better is if was a 4 wheel drive
That has gotta be the best color ever
I need friends like you guy’s. 🤙🏽
Put a spacer on the rear cab mounts to straighten up the body lines and that thing will be perfect 👍
Yes it looks like the cab mounts are shot
Yes it looks like the cab mounts are shot
Yes it looks like the cab mounts are shot
You just need some rear cab mounts to Line up the cab and box and it will be pretty sweet
I have watched this young man just attack these old fords and I love the fact that there is no fear. Mess it up, redo it, but do it. I also love that color.
Won't know unless you try I guess haha. Always been my mentality.
Impressed with the turnout!!! 😎😎😳😳
Goodguys in Scottsdale in April is terrible. November is when to go. More cars show up then. Hope you enjoyed it anyway.
Make me think of my 74 bronco. Had a parade Saturday pulled up Friday morning, six of my buddies and myself jumped on the truck and by noon body work done and painted urethane red. There wasn't that much body work though pretty straight little truck. The four wheel drive club along with that truck was in the parade 10:00 Saturday morning.
Beautiful color
You’re doing it wrong, but the right way 😉🙌🏻 love it haha. Looks good’nuff
That truck is fine except for the fact that it needs cab mounts and box mounts. But you can do that when you paint it right.
Yeah were cutting the back of the truck off anyways this year to TT link the suspension and do a full cage front to back so we'll re hang everything straight.
@@Thecraig909 Whether you believe it or not I am impressed at how much you have taught yourself.I respect you and sincerely your Galaxie gets done the way you want it.
Following every vid man!!!.... all love from New Mexico....I got me a 79 f100 Ranger with a 351w with some flo pro exhaust shes mean and ive owned her since I was 14 im 33 now....
the truck looks good from 10 feet , that's not bad. The truck needs a front end alignment.
Who hasn’t painted a car late at night using a flashlight? We didn’t have respirators, we just pulled our tshirts up over our faces. Ahhh to be young again!
The extended wheel well flairs.. has a visual effect that makes the truck look bent in the middle.. I dont think it is.. but.....
Good stuff
That's a nice 20 footer.
Three guys, single stage paint, random primer...what is unusual about that? I was doing that in the sixties and seventies, when there was nothing but single stage paint. Yup, sure enough you can git 'er done! BIG win for you! Of course, the choices were acrylic lacquer, and acrylic enamel, preferable with catalyst. Generally I prepped one night,. and shot color the next night after work. What could possibly go wrong?
We know what a process this is!!! Nice work, bad to the bone fenders!!!!!!
You said it was metallic, Sonic Blue is Perl, Depp impact Blue is the same color but it's metallic
Just asking the question: is there something unique to where you live that you are using rattle can primer on such a large scale project? Seems like it would be cheaper to get some primer from the paint supply store and spray it with a gun.
Craig, I respectfully disagree. This is exactly how you should have painted this truck this round! You guys will look back on this with the fondest of memories. Trust me, this is awesome!
Can you post a video on putting a 70s trucks tailgate on
I've been a Hobbyist for 38 years Painted all of my cars in my driveway. Acrylic Enamel.
No clear coat required . Can’t go wrong with Acrylic enamel
The return of ChrisBCripple
No he died
Weld those holes closed . Then skim it.
Whats really important are these memories you make with your friends. Looking back on the fun crazy builds
I haven't watched the video all the way through yet but the intro is 10/10, good work 👌
I appreciate that man!
@@Thecraig909 here's the thing.....be glad that you have a truck to thrash on to paint!
WOW you broke every rule of getting a good paint job done, in the dark to low a temp no wipe down did the roof last need I go on, nope you said it all so a blind man would be glad to see it LOL. Yep preparation is 80% of the paint respray, so well done you guy's great job, so what is next, a proper prep and respray or wet sand buff and polish is the roof going to be a different colour, not a blue kind of guy but that is a nice colour, maybe you should give it an old school look by painting a white stripe right round about two foot wide with a pin stripe in red. Pretty sure I would give it an old school look if mine.
Are you going to do anything with the heavy duty suspension and axels under that thing? I know they are strong parts but they are also crazy heavy.
Dang you guys pass by Yuma Az I'm from there i also have a F150
You just love to push the limits right before Good Guys shows. Save the Galaxy’s for the day before the next GoodGuys show and you’ll finish in a day
I wanna try to take the white one to Fabulous Fords in a couple months. The car doesn't even have all its sheet metal lol.
I dont believe that you do know the right way to do it
Earl Scheib would have painted it for you for $29.95, if you can get it back to 1962 door jambs too! lol
Cool video
Ridiculous! That truck is absolutely gorgeous! Y’all are killin it!!!
Reminds me of the days of thrashing on my friends dirt track car. Working until 1 or 2 in the morning. One guy finishing up the engine, one changing the gear, one spraying paint.... Maybe 2 hours of sleep and pulling into the pit with the paint still wet and the engine running breaking in on the trailer. Good old days. I doubt I could do it now, but great memories.
AWESOME!! What a transformation. Good job
MEMORIES!!! Great stuff. The video is fantastic, new camera is working great. That blue is outstanding.
Now it time to paint your f100
Hahah never.
This vid is awesome. I remember doing the exact same thing you guys did when i was your age. Im 32 now and have a booth and all the tools ive bought over the years to do it the right way. But you guys did a hell of a job honestly . Mad props !
Just wet the dirt down And you have that much dust When you Spray the truck
At least Back in the Day, I had an old Barn to paint in! Truck looks great! Nice 24hr. paint job 😎
Were did you buy the single stage at ?
Are you going to level the bed with the cab?
Come on Sean,
You have friends over for a full blown body work & paint job on your truck a & the frig. Isn't loaded with beer & other drinks plus misc. energy boost & mind melting goodies .... ✌😎
That's a huge fail.... Craig & friend are really stepping up for you man treat them right !
Ok I'm at the halfway point... Let's see how this night time dirt back yard "better not get Maco" paint job comes out...... so scared 😲 BB after the video !
Looks great... nice work everyone !
So when does the " 3 guys will paint your ride in 24hrs " business start 😆
Oh we'd make a killing! thanks man
Nothing is more permanent than a band-aid fix that works.
100% correct!!!
Yep. We always say that there’s nothing more permanent than a temporary fix.
Exactly
Why didnt you guys make a video of seans truck at good guys? It was on ford eras channel
Holy fuck bro here I am in Trudeau land Windsor ont Canada I get a city notice for driveway wrenching past 8pm heres yall at 4 am or W.E spotlights in the neighbors houses and compressors and shit 🤣 fucken MINT!!!
Craig, You and Sean up to painting my Chevelle??? You did a better job in the dark, humidity, cold, outdoors than the last "professional" shop did in a paint & body shop. I'll provide the materials & Colorado cold snacks...
Haha only if you wouldn't mind it being sprayed outside. Neither of us has a garage to work out of, unfortunately.
@@Thecraig909 exactly!!! That's what I'm saying. Your paint job looks better than mine did when it came out of a paint & body shop. I bet if your color sand & cut it right, you won't have ti respray Sean's truck. Looks good 👍👌
When I entered the auto body game back in the 90s. General Motors was only paying us 22 hours on a Corvette to fix the paint that was falling off their cars. Under warranty. Except... you were more likely to fix the paint on a Beretta or a Corsica or a Cavalier. And lots of WT 1500's. Then you were a Corvette.
Turns out... The great mistake Corporation was experimenting with waterborne primers. And putting them underneath solvent-based colors. And attempting to lock them in with solvent-based clear coat. So we had to strip the car near to the metal. Shoot it with epoxy primer ... Because laquer primer wouldn't hold to the water base. And re-shoot the entire car. And we were making money hand-over-fist. It was not uncommon for me to bring home a hundred and twenty to 150 hours a week. And that would equate to about 10 to 15 cars. Not including the vehicles that were there for the Collision damages they had. And yes... You can break flat-rate warranty, in half. Once you get the system dialed in. We had those cars rolling out the door, in in 12 to 15 hours. Like shooting fish in a barrel baby!
Our DA's were running Non-Stop!
Which is my first suggestion to anyone who's looking to get into the auto body industry... If you plan on working for General Motors... Buy a good DA... You're going to need it!
And when the sales and marketing team at the manufacturer puts themselves in charge of painting cars... You're going to make money hand over fist to!
Some people understand the satisfaction of working with your hands, while the others just don’t have a clue.
Looks great, Craig! Love this truck, your F100, and your Galaxies!
So Its a "Ratrod"!
I wish they made a super cab in 73 (year I was born)...awesome builds!
🤣🤣🤣🔥👏I love the Honesty. Great work
Wow that's amazing love the color amazing job guys
Video quality and cinematics are a1 👌🏽 I’ve seen you guys up at the barona track a few times, keep
It up man!!
Next time before you start spraying paint, wet the painting area floor down with water to help keep the dust down. 😎 Y'all did a good job laying that Sonic blue down on that truck! It looks damn good! 😁👍
That is the only thing I wanted to do that we should have. Thanks!
My favorite part is that everything is all shiny and clean and painted, and then there’s a crusty original master cylinder. But hey, if it works, why fix it? Better than anything I could probably do
I never planned to be a Ford guy, followed your channel a while ago with your prerunner. Then my uncle hooked me up with a 63 Galaxie and I refound your channel because of those damn offset shafts on the LCAs, and now I am starting to think f100s are the best classic trucks.
Thanks for sticking around my friend.
Anyway I can get that paint code. I have a 82 f100 stepside I'd like to shoot that color
This is the highlight of my day ✊🏼
It's folding in half
Love Sonic Blue! My 2003 Mustang GT was that color!
You guys rock!! You remind me of me 40 years ago
Looks a lot better. for the way you did it nice work guys
Cool. I taped off and rattle canned my pinstripes. They turned out awesome
Perfect is the ENEMY of good enough👍👍
That paint worked out really good for what you guys had to deal with that night.
Love that paint job and a huge change with the before and after
Paint looks great, but you he needs to get the body lines lined up. She’s looking a bit sway backed.
Yea they're 3" flared fenders so the body lines aren't straight but it is higher in the back for sure.
Reminds me of me cramming a whole bedliner paint job in one week after work hours to drive it on the beach in long wood new Jersey I know the feeling and love seeing it
You and Sean are TOO good at making trucks show ready in a short amount of time 😂
I would have used the hose and sprayed under and around the truck so the dirt wouldn't kick up but it still turned out sick
Then they would have painted in a mud hole. Lol
How did you put the tailgate on ?
I remember nights like this. Craig if you go on my Instagram pinstripingbybear roll down to my older picture you will see me painting my 60ty Cadillac limo in my front yard.. there is nothing wrong with painting outside only the Neighbors who bitch to the cops or EPA if you do it allot
For a 24 hour thrash, ya'll did great. Truck came out really good. That color is super killer...I love it.
Turned out looking good for the time y'all had to get it done 👍
Man the boy Shawn did it again imagen if he had a paint booth!. I love the Ford blue color sick!!!.
And one more to the list if you are spraying outside in dirt or dusty conditions mist the ground with water before you spray so it keeps the dust that comes up from your feet and the hose on the ground so it keeps the dust out of your paint
Yea that's something I definitely should have done.
Nice thrash, body filler absorbs water though and will rust under the paint. Next time clean with acetone.
learn how to spell , if you been here for a while you know that craig can get down with his work along with his buddy’s
We did before we sprayed it. Wasn't filmed. We'll end up respraying this truck once a year honestly cause it's an off road truck.
Great job guys awesome work 👍
Sometimes You do whatever You gotta do. 🤘😎🇺🇸
Wrong color choice tho.Shoulda been either gun metal grey or that new Ford grey.....
Absolutely Awesome! Love the color, found a company that has that color Sonic blue for brake calipers! Going to do my brake calipers on my 05 F-250 XL
What brand paint did you use
Do they still have Earl Scheib I'll paint any car for 39 99 you don't need a respirator Outdoors bugs are going to fly from miles to land in your wet paint with that light Outdoors
Very inspiring, I want to paint my El Camino
Looks sick man
A JW electrician makes up neutrals before the hots😁
I painted my truck outside later in the day and the dew made the tops fade I see it did the same to yours. You can really see it on the top of the bead sides. It kinda looks like patina.
Yeah, we'll wet sand it out as best we can but a couple panels will need to be resprayed.
