One thing pregnancy always shows me is that as a woman my acne is all hormonal. I can be the unhealthiest pregnant woman and won’t get a single spot on my face. However, i can be so strict cutting out sugar etc but I will STILL get acne when not pregnant. Tretinoin is helpful as is any supplement which dries out my skin such as Pantothenic Acid.
Another thing hardly any doctors pick up on is that like high testosterone cause acne in women so can very low testosterone! Taking DHEA helped me tackle this.
Love the way you word things into a simple way where anyone can understand!
Thank you ☺️
Tret actually caused my acne I never had before.. I recently switched to Tazrotene and that has helped but now I have scaring from starting it all in the first place..
Dr Abs what do you think about Finnacea (15% Azelaic Acid) combined with Tretinoin?
It helps a lot with infiammation and oily skin
How do I get a prescription from you?
Excellent results! 😍 I've been using a compounded .025 tretinoin, spironiolactone, & tranaxemic acid for over a year now, seems to work ok...it hasn't been too transformative to my skin though...nonetheless I still use it. Does increasing the % make any difference? or is a bit more of the same thing not that useful? I wonder
Tret in the long term kind of gives you the same result regardless of concentration really, so there's nothing wrong with 0.025 long term.
Okay, thanks so much for letting me know
My daughter is 12 and living in Madurai, India at the moment and having bad acne to me it looks bacterial, but I’m not sure what to do to help her. Can you give me a recommendation for her? My heart is so sad to see her hate her face.
How do you use squalane oil with tretinoin? Which do you put on first, and do you wait any length of time in between applying?
I use tretinoin first. Let it absorb for 20-30 mins then apply squalane oil.
Hey, do you know what is a similar cream that I can buy in EU countries? I can only get tretinoin cream from a doctor if he writes me a prescription.
Thank you, Dr. Abs. I have been using Tertinoin 0.025% for four years and I still can't use it every night since it makes my skin dry with mild peeling. Is it possible that not all skin types can use it every night? I know you don't recommend moisturizing the skin, but how do I help the dryness from this? I also use a glycolic acid cleanser every now and then but I can't use it on the same night as the Tretinoin or it will make my skin too dry.
By getting it to peel and then pulling back to only four nights you're your own worst enemy. It's starting to work but then you're not letting it by restricting the useage. Peeling means it's working so keep it up and go for more if you can. Don't stop because it's peeling. Use an oil like squalane to help dryness. From TheOrdinary its only a few dollars
@@Dr_AbsThanks for the advice!
While I know this is the gold standard for acne and anti aging, most formulas have pore clogging ingredients such as isopropyl myristate. I have it a go and kept breaking out even as far out as 6 weeks.
Yeah unfortunately there's no absolutely perfect chemical solution imo. That's why I talk about devices etc too. I'd say led and BBL are great alternatives
@@Dr_Absthey need a break for their skin to get used to it or they may damage their skin barrier
when it comes to tretinoin, Is gel better than cream or is it the same?
Gel tends to pill and is more drying. The cream is less drying and doesn't tend to pill under moisturizer. There is no superior form, it just comes to preference and skin type.
I take zinc supplement and my acne gone
What if you have rosacea? I'm scared to try tretinoin because even 0.3% retinol burns and stings.
For rosacea maybe try led therapy first to calm the skin down - intofaces.com
Ask your dermatologist about azalaic acid. It might be useful if you're experiencing both acne and rosacea.
Use 0.025 and apply an oil before applying it.
I suffer from seborrheic dermatitis. I tried antibiotics and ointments. Once stopped ....it comes back. I have severe crusty dandruff and tiny white grainy acne. What should i do?
fixing diet helps alot. listing your triggers. like dairy, sugars and salycytes. moisturizer gels with no additives, alot of hydration, hormonal checkup, go to dermathilogist to get a shampoo. sulfur soap aids ME, and other people too, this one you should talk with your dermathologist.
Whenever I try to use an exfoliant or retinol, it causes my eczema to flare up. Is that normal? I always take a pause and it takes forever for my skin to heal so I gave up.
Maybe try a moisturizer before. Coconut oil or The Ordinary may help. Start with 2 days a week. Good luck.
@@Jojorocks23 I did try moisturizing before and after. Maybe I’ll try again in the future and take it slower. Thanks.
My doctor prescribed me tretix tretinoin cream,he told me to use only on pimples and i do the exactly same now my skin got fair where i was using it ..and now my skin look Patchy plzzz helpp😭😭😭 I'm 21 year old ...plzzzzzz reply
I don't even understand what ingredient he's talking about
4 months into using tretnoin still having acne
Ultimate way to stop acne from my own experience:
1. Don't eat dairy for a few months. Especially cheese.
2. Pantothenic acid supplements.
3. Simplifying your routine to gentle stuff and not trying new things whilst changing your diet.
4. Reduce the junk food intake. Some snacks have lots of oils that cause acne.
And that's how I'm now on the other side, acne free. And people don't believe I once really struggled
Use a sulfer cleanser like PanOxyl - every day and let it sit for a few minutes - then rinse off - you can also apply to each burgeoning pimple and leave it there.
Benzo peroxide gel or liquid can help.
Omg your shirt.. gotta go
What if im allergic to vitamin A how can i cure my acnes ?
Without vitamin A, a human being cant be fully formed from a sperm and an egg - I would be amazed if you were actually allergic to it.
If sensitive to Vit A, try the LED light and microdermabrasion.
You look like AI 😂😂 bc your skin, your hair… is just perfect, doesn’t look real
Why is Prince Charles in there?
Leeds United more like man United
Haha we'll get out of the championship one day
Or just be born Bengali and have the most perfect skin
So true. All of my family got close to perfect skin. Even when they are 60. All they apply is water soap coconut oil and nivea cream in winters.
You are talking too fast. Listening to your videos by reducing the playback speed 😂
I like it lol
I thought I was listening at 2x speed until you mentioned that 😅😅
Good. It's nice to get the info without committing 40+ minutes to it.
