PM: cleanser, tretinoin (Rx), moisturizer
That’s it’s. That’s been my routine for a few years now and everyone compliments my skin.
I'm gonna have mine similar except imma add Vitamin C & Toner probably to my AM routine.
100%.
That’s cerave correct ?
@@eNYcE927 Cetaphil or CeraVe
I add Vitamin C in morning and in PM Tretinoin/AHA 7 alternative days. Should i stop
been doing skincare for 2 months now per your recommendations. ive experienced only 1 breakout so far, completely due to one day that i went crazy on sugar at a party 😂. ive gotten so many compliments due to my clearer and brighter skin, and ive felt more confident than ever. thanks, Brandon!
Yeah dude, cutting out the sugar makes the biggest difference!
Dairy was a big one for me. Once I cut down/out dairy, my skin cleared so much.
Thanks Brandon x
Finally someone who can guide me in accurately determining my skin type.🙌🏼
i was thinking the same thing!
Glad this guide helped bro!
@@BrandonBalfourlove your video. Glad you actually done your research unlike other influencers.
I really needed this specially cuz summer is coming and everything you mentioned in the video applies to me to a fault. Thanks a bunch man!
Retinols are really good, definitively one of my staples. Probably the best anti-aging ingredient and is often used against acne. Would really recommend for anyone (any skin) with the other 3 basics. You can also easily find moisturizing sunscreen to speed up the morning routine.
Some dermatologist also say to not cleanse 2 times a day and only do it before bed because it can damage the natural protection our skin makes, just like you don't want to wash yourself more than once a day.
Honestly I keep it simple. A decent combo moisturizer with spf, and gentle face wash. My skin is great as long as you’re getting that sleep snd water. Great video
my skincare already going good but can Brandon always has good insights!! Thanks for the video.
Perfect, if you’ve found something that works for you that’s great!
@@BrandonBalfour Could you do a video on how to treat spots on your arms/back, specifically how to remove scars and what not?
Here are some more helpful tips:
1) take power naps if you can. It helps with eye bags and dark circles
2) have a freshly squeezed lemon drink 4x a week. Its your vit c from within.
3) take b complex vitamins and iron regularly.
4) drink water water water!
Very informative. You obviously know your stuff on skincare which more men should do. Kudos! 😊
Hi brandon
I've been watching your videos quite regularly and I can say you do have a complete knowledge of men's fashion and healthcare
would like to see for hair care too
Peep Alex Costa, bro. He's the men's hair GOAT. And he's even created his own hair product line called Forte Series and I can honestly say everything is amazing
Great video, taking some tips!
The facial hair looks great on you man!
Thank you brandon
This is just what I needed I didn’t know how to go about it but now with this info I can get started on better skin routine thank you so much
I’m so glad I could help bro!
Your fashion recommendations always leave me in awe! I'm curious, what's your secret for pinpointing the perfect pieces, whether it's clothing or accessories?
I NEEDED THIS VIDEO RIGHT NOWWW
Man your channel has been blowing uppp. Also I’d like to say, a lot of results come from what you eat. fruit helps a lot. My skin has improved 200% from watching you too. Especially the vitamin C serum. Was very helpful. Everything else works wonders. This is a actual good video
lets goo new vid bro been waiting ! much love
Ayy thanks for the support homie!
Goo?😂
Really informative....thank you for this ❤❤
Very useful Brandon. Will give this routine a shot 💪🏻
Right on time!
My man!
I use cereve cleanser and moisturizer because of you and it improved my skin a lot. That's all I do for my skin routine. My skin is softer now
same here. softer, clearer, and brighter
@@Ashlord Im just like you bro. I followed his advice on cleaning and mosturising and my skin is a lot better. The cerve moisturiser isnt greasy or oily either. face is smooth now.
Love to hear that it works for you bro!
@@BrandonBalfour thank you!
Definitely add a sunscreen to that, as most damage to your skin comes from the sun
Cerave is good starting point. They have different type of cleansers, sunscreen and moisturizer.
100%
Great video Brandon! I have been recently following a skin care routine and I can assure it makes all the difference. One key part I would like to talk tho: what about the skin in other parts of the body? I understand that the face is the most "direct" form of skincare, but a clean back or chest is as important when going on a swim for example. I would really appreciate a video about how to have clear skin in those areas as well!
That's a valid point
If you’re talking about acne in general, go for products like body wash with ingredients like salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide. I have a lot of bacne so my dermatologist suggested using naturium’s salicylic body spray, so you can leave on that product on your body instead of washing it off. Since these products are active ingredients, you would want to leave them on so they’re doing the work. If you are using a body wash medium, you’ll want to let the product sit for 4-5 minutes before washing it off. If you use a loofah, switch it out often or buy washable scrubs, cause bacteria grows in moist environments, which can make you breakout. I personally use silicone brushes.
If it’s rough, dry textured, bumpy, you can try amlactin. I have eczema, cetaphil and cerave’s basic moisturizers and slugging with a petrolatum based product have really helped manage my dryness. Any itching or rashes, try oatmeal or zinc based products. If you’re dealing with hyperpigmentation you can try glycolic acid, helps renew your skin and is very light on sensitivity. At the end of the day, talk to your dermatologist. They would know your skin best. I also recommend watching dr dray, doctorly, lab muffin beauty science, if you haven’t heard of them. They give great tips for taking care of your skin.
@@chrisevans869 thanks Cap! great advice.
Back and chest is always clean than face because it is rarely exposed.
Thank you so much bro I was using too much products for my skincare
Tysm that's really going to help
Amazing guide❤
Chemical/organic sunscreens are not bad or harmfull at least you have an allergy or very sesitive skin, and are going to be more comfortable to use in most cases, do not leave you white and are not so heavy like mineral, just use one from a well known brand (for both mineral and chemical)
Thank you so Much Brother Brandon! ❤
I got you my friend!
If you have dry or problematic skin There’s no need to wash your face twice daily. You risk stripping your skin of oils,, and could trigger issues.
I have oily acne prone skin and even for me washing once in the evening, apply bha and moisturizer, and apply spf in the morning makes my skin happy.
I would add that chemical there is a ton of fear mongering with chemical sunscreens. From reputable brands,, They are safe and work very well. Plus they do not clump in beard or facial hair, and are suitable for a broader range of skin tones.
We need the summer wardrobe video Brandon 🙏
I have hormonal acne.. i just do simple basic skincare,3months have improved, and after 1year my acne gone and my skin are way better, acne scar also gone, now im flawless.

My parents don't let me wash my bedding very often so i just ordered a 2 pack of pillowcases on Amazon, looking to change it out atleast 1 a week to hopefully help with bald head acne.
brandon keepin it real 💯💯🔥
Staying honest brother!
Thanks bro for the tips 🔥🔥🔥😎😎😎The Goat 🎉
You’re a legend bro!
Its interesting how people will put more chemicals on their face expecting to help but won't consider the chemically processed foods they're putting into their bodies
1000%
You have no clue what you’re on about. ‘chemicals’ doesn’t mean anything. Everything’s a chemical. The ingredients in these products have been tested and proven to help your skin and there’s nothing wrong with them. People just talk about ‘chemicals’ to spread fear and get you to buy their expensive beef tallow face cream
I would like to guide men who don’t have active acne to please do add the exfoliation step. With men’s naturally thicker skin that means thicker dead skin too. Exfoliation will help keep ingrown hairs at bay as well.
One question: Do you take something to prevent hairloss or promote hair growth? Thanks for the video 💪
This is great advice for guys lol. The only issue I would have is the essential oils in the skinceuticals moisturiser (can sensitise skin) but it wasn't hardcore pushed or anything.
Love stressing the importance of SPF
Please answer my question
What do you think about Vaseline petroleum jelly for face moisturizer?
Needed that video, thanks! Skin care products are always sponsored and I don't trust it.
Yeah it can be hard bro! Everyone’s skin is different so it’s kinda a trial and error process
Betterhelp is not a sponsor you want bro....
I don't get how people are still taking their sponsorships. Do they just not care to look up what they're advertising?
Parrot
Why not?
They have been expose for some shady business activities. Selling your personal information to Meta for example
There are videos about it on YT but they do a terrible job of vetting their therapists and there have been a lot of complaints of uncaring/unprofessional sessions, even sometimes therapists taking calls in a public area. @@SAMBA10
Great video Brandon. Accurate and concise information.
The goatee looks cool as f you motivated me to grow one
Only channel that give real advises
I'm liking the mustache beard. nice man
Nice video. Just two things. First, retinol is NOT an exfoliant and should be used sparingly, as tolerated. Two, there is nothing wrong with chemical sunscreen.
Yes, my mistake on retinol it’s technically is an antioxidant
Norway mentioned 🔥
Would you recommend getting a Retinol cream if we're starting to get wrinkles? Or do you think a moisturizer should be enough for most people?
You can try it out! Apparently it is one of the best for wrinkles.
He is 100% accurate to say that seed ( nut) oils do provoke facial breakouts. What you eat does matter.
Hey Brandon!
I would like to know what if I use soap as cleanser?
Does soap has negative effects on skin health?
Like some people might get irritation
raw shea butter itself is a game changer
Love from India ❤
“It's a popular misconception that retinol is an exfoliant. It isn't, because it cannot break the bonds that hold dead skin cells to the surface. Retinol is an antioxidant that promotes cell turnover, and an important skin-restoring ingredient that can impact how skin cells mature.”
Cleanse, toner, repair, moisturizer, sunscreen. Keep it basic, but specific to you.
Don't forget about the GOAT of skincare products, Tretinoin. Not for everyone, but its a game-changer for a lot of people for both acne, anti-aging, and general skin health.
MYYY GOAAATTTT
What hairstyles do you recommend for this summer?
0:40 idk what dermatologists say but food definitely impacts your skin. Every time I eat chocolate I get acne and otherwise I almost never have it (on my face)
Guys he might be right but BEFORE introducing some acid into your skin, check your skin barrier and take care of it for at least 1 month. Then you can slowly ad acid into your routine. Start always with low pourcentage first and then SLOWLY INCREASE as YOUR skin permit.
Would you apply these products to other areas that get dry or get another type of body lotion (e.g. neck)?
Honestly, just washing my face with just water in the morning is more than enough (unless i've had a rough sweaty night or did face basting) and honestly, I tend to stay away from actives in my cleanser, as i'll just wash em off within seconds whitout them having time to actually have any effect. (which is just such a waste of money) If i want to use a salicylic acid (or glycolic or pha or whatever else) for a peel, I'll apply it after washing my face, let it sit for a couple minutes and then wash it off again (with just water) before applying anything else that'll sit on my face till i next wash my face. I separate my actives from my cleanser, because i do not want to just wash those actives down the drain without getting them have the full effect (if any at all). Which is just a huge waste of money.
Same with actives in my moisturizer. As I do have dryer skin, I do want something that actually hydrates my skin at all time, but when it comes to actives like retinol(vit a), niacinamide(vit b3), panthenol (vit b5), ascorbic acid (vit c), and other actives, I really want them on a case by case basis. Eg. as I'm around 40, I'm using retinoids, but my skin can't handle it every night, so i have that as an extra step, instead of putting it in the moisturizer. Also, plenty of moisturizers that come with certain actives that i may want, also come with actives that i don't care for or don't need, or that my skin reacts to, which is another reason to not opt for an all in one solution for me)
So I suppose I may have more separate products, but really my skincare is still just cleanse, actives, moisturizer, sunscreen. so 4 steps during the day time and 3 at night... And I've separated actives from both cleanser and moisturizer for more targeted use and i actually know what i'm putting on my face and why. I mean, I could premix certain combinations and put them into glass containers and make it into a 3 step day time routine, but then there may be interactions between the products happening in the containers that i don't want and stuff.(eg. the vit c and vit a derivatives might break down much faster when in different containers or when in contact with some stuff thats in the moisturizer.) or I can just mix them on my hand before applying everything in one go if i'm in a bit of a rush. assentially still keeping it at a 3 step routine, with the added step of mixing stuff on my hand.
As for sunscreens, why oh why do americans like to keep spreading weird tales about chemical sunscreens and saying they're bad... they're not. They're actually great. xD but oh well...
Anyway, if you really want to simplify it further, get two moisturizers, one for night time without spf and a daytime moisturizer with spf50. no need to add that extra sunscreen step.
Then you can get a 2 step routine; 1. cleanse, 2. moisturize, done.
So while yes, having that 20+ steps is, even in my eyes, kinda ridiculous (Especially when marketed as a k-beauty routine, when there's no korean person i know that actually uses that many steps in their routine on a regular basis anyway and it seems more of a marketing thing for celebrities to be able to promote more products in a single skincare video), I personally do not like to oversimplify it either, as the convenience comes at the cost of price and a less customizable skincare routine. Kinda like having a hello fresh meal kit and cooking it yourself with stuff they provide for you, or custimze my cooking by actually picking out the ingredients i want to make the meal perfectly suited to my own tastes on that specific given moment. Yes, it'll take a bit longer to select the ingredients on the website before having them delivered, but probably not much longer than scrolling through the list of meal packages and trying to figure out which one of their m eals would suit my taste at that moment and then just order that. //alternatively, driving a premade car vs driving a customized car...
regardless, rant over... xD
What do you think about Drole de Monsieur? I absolutely love it.
Please do a wardrobe video from scratch but for all seasons
Is that the same sunscreen you would use for your whole body for vacations?
Also, You should do a vid where you try the “fully natural” skincare for a month and confirm wether or not the hype is real or bs. This would be valuable for alot of people
That's funny I just got the paulas choice chemical exfoliant too, I know it says use hands Or cotton pad, have you had better results/experience using cotton pad even though they seem like they absorb more of the product than hands?
Bro you look good in clean shaven
Is petrolatum safe for oily or acne prone skin?
Bro a video on haircare please.
Love from India bruhh.
I had really really bad acne prone oily skin....my derm recommended 2 percent Salicylic acid face wash....I ve been using it for about 2-3months....what happened is that my acne got really really bad and the skin became too much oily than before...this is because salicylic acid remove all the oil above your skin which makes the skin to produce more oil which is a natural mechanism....please just use a gentle foaming cleanser ...salicylic can be used 1-2 times a week
3:48 ... just a gentle reminder... that is NOT the structure of salicylic acid .. love your vids btw
Do you know anything about colour theory for choosing clothes should slus dudes look into it if yes then will you make a vedio about theis topic?
Lol, you threw Blake Shelton under the bus with the cortisol haha. Wasn't he the sexiest man during Covid? 🤣
Can you do a video on how to dress formal? Church? Special ocations? etc? pls thank u
