Paul, your grass plug project looks great, I know how hard you have worked on it, and I know how satisfying it is to see these results! What HOC are you going for?
Awesome testimony! 12 month grow in is awesome! Would love to do a total renovation on my common Bermuda (30K) Tired of battling Bermuda grass mites. I recently spoke with you about it. Been applying Abamectin every week to try to conquer them. It is starting to look a little better. Would like to spray it all with roundup, and plug the entire area. I can’t imagine the cost of enough plugs of the zoysia to cover 30K! Lol!
Could you set plugs in an existing lawn and will they propagate and spread over the old grass? I believe it will as there is a patch of Zoysia between the curb and the sidewalk and it appears to grow bigger every year, would love to have that as the full lawn. It grows well in the Northeast.
@@booombyybyy One is just a seeded variety that is heavily marketed and the other has traits that are desirable. There is nothing wrong with either, but one is better than the other.
Bought my first tray of el torro plugs delivered today (Newburgh, IN)and in the ground as we speak and they look amazing and healthy! I thought of ordering a few more trays but I noticed that they are not avaliable currently 10-2-24 will this be avaliable at all this year or look for them in early spring?
Your front yard looks amazing. I know you said that you can put as much effort into it as you won't.But really, how labor intensive is it? Also, do you only offer shipping on products on your website. I am local to you and would like to try and put some plugs in my front yard. I was told that this grass would take over and choke out most other grasses. Is this true?
@@65sailman Zoysia gets so thick that it keeps most weed seed from germinating but no grass can keep all weeds out without help from herbicides. You asked about how much work it is and it is no more than any other grass. I do extra like reel mowing and trying new products but they’re not necessary to make it look good. Plugging is a little work but consistent mowing, watering and fertilizing is required. We grow our plugs here and keep the planting tools here but everything else is warehoused out of town. @@NCGrassPlugs Thanks. I'm in 7a Maryland. Just north of DC. I'm trying to determine if El Toro or Innovation would be better for me. Seems El Toro is better in hot sun and Innovation does better during cooler times or shadier spots. El Toro is generally cheaper. I recently planted some some Meyer and Zenith plugs in some locations. Not too impressed. Can hardly tell they're their.
@@KidHorn7001 El Toro is more shade tolerant but zoysia is a subtropical plant and they thrive in the heat. I can’t really speak of cold tolerance except zoysia can be grown farther north than Bermuda.
This is amazing bro!! Great Job!! Next spring I’ll be buying some el zorro!! You’ve convinced me!
Impressive. Appreciate the Recognition update at the end.

Yes, that’s exactly how it works. The less competition the plugs have, the faster they will spread.
I planted mine early May and they're spreading great! Thanks for the tips!
What herbicide kills Bermuda, but not zoysia? I got some Bermuda trying to take over.
It looks good just as good as zenith
@@booombyybyy I have Zenith in the back and it looks no where near as good.

I believe you had plots of another zoysia…. Did the El Toro overtake the other zoysia? Thanks…
didn’t get great results on crab grass with the recognition/fusilade. wiped out the Bermuda however
