I’m in Los Angeles….i have st Augustine in my front yard and zoysia in the back….been cutting them both at 2 inches for 10 years wondering why my grass is always dead 😂…thanks to u I let it grow and started cutting at 3 inches and now I’m at 4….i finally have green grass yall 😂😂😂😂
You seem to be in a similar situation to me, 10 years ago. When I moved to my house, I had a beautiful Bermuda lawn, and 2 sapling trees. Those trees are now 20 ft tall, and it doesn’t get the sun it needs. First lawn died out, I had it resodded and that lasted 2 years and died out. Now I have zoysia and a beautiful looking lawn once again. I see those smaller trees in your yard, but be prepared to switch to Zoysia when those become full on shade trees.
I am looking to do some seed pre-germination in a 5 gallon bucket? Ever done this with success? If so, trying to figure out the best seed to use for Bermuda grass.
I’m trying Dog Tuff grass plugs which are similar to Bermuda. However this grass is sterile and only propagates via runners. Do you have any videos on how continue propagating this, versus buying new plugs? Thanks!
Often happens because of wrong fertilizer application (usually from dog pee). I’d check ph levels and make sure you are applying enough N and K to bring it to a nice green.
I have found St Augustine to be very drought tolerant, perform exceptionally well in shade and have had only minimal issues with fungus/disease; mostly from overwatering and evening watering. I now water with a Raicho and schedule my watering to end by sunrise and only 1-2 days a week to get roots to grow deeper. The Bermuda I have had in the past has also been very drought resistant and even if it dies, it will be back next season or when the water comes; it’s like a cockroach in a nuclear disaster, it will survive. Both are good grasses and comes down to exactly what you have said, preference!
I wish you had done as much grass p0rn for zoysia as you did with bermuda. I'd like to get an idea of what it looks like. All i saw was the leaves when you briefly talked about it. I have bermuda but it doesn't look like yours. I hate St Augustine - it looks like crabgrass and when you walk across it, it trips you with its runners.
@@CourtannicaBahia sucks. Doesn't grow thick so weeds are a problem and there aren't a lot of herbicides that are safe for bahia. If you can avoid it, avoid it.

Hey that’s awesome! Glad you were able to put it into practice.
Such a great straight to the point video. Exactly what I was looking for. Thank you brother cheers

So hard to find good basic info in a concise format. Great video!
Great information...Loved the wee waif with the squirt gun. Looked like pure mischief just waiting to happen
I wish you showed more of the blades and stolons up close.
Nicely done comparison!

What zoysia seed product do you recommend?

The crazy part is that i have all three grass types plus spf30 kbg in south Florida
Wish I could sculpt out some st aug sections in the shady areas of my bermuda lawn 😓 Dons Lawns is the only one I’ve seen attempt it on yt.
Would you know why my bermuda grass is turning lemon lime color in certain areas?
Thanks from Kyle, Texas!

You crazy st Augustine n Bermuda are the most beautiful grass
Would love a video on the difference between St Augustine and crabgrass... Jk, but not really. 😂
I hear you. I can't tell the difference either.
Why is it named saint Augustine?
Domination like is on point! But my god your neighbor has SO MANY WEEDS
Maybe he could make use of some "drift" when spraying his own yard.
The first time I untied my girlfriends balloonknot was on Bermuda grass
Is centipede not considered warm season
It is for sure! It just isn’t common where I live in Texas. Went with the three most common in our area .
