Wow, aren't these the laziest lyrics I've ever seen from France? What happened, guys? XD
Firstly and most importantly, no, I don't follow the series. I simply came across this song and liked it pretty quite a lot, so I took a quick look at the plot to figure out the general story behind the track and translated it. That's all.
It appears that Canada did not dub the series and used the European version instead, in which most actors reprised their roles from the main movie (e.g. Rapunzel, Eugene...).

It's just... such a gentle way to say it lol, even if the original version is not too loud either. Polish sounds the angriest imo, even if it's just 'silence'. But I think the most generally aggressive out of all versions has to be Japanese, 'damare' is the most rude and disrespectful way to tell someone to shut up as far as I know.

To be honest Varian's voice in English is cute but I would hesitate to call it **high**. I would describe his voice as being more gentle and light.

That's just extremely weird because the actor sounds about the right age, but the singer easily sounds much older than 14 so... the transitions are a little disturbing ^^

I'm a French teacher, and I'm often appalled at how French versions of Disney songs are sometimes completely off-point, but I'm actually quite pleased to see this cover is actually pretty good.
I've been working with these songs for a very long while now, and I think these lyrics are probably the laziest and cheepest France has ever provided us with. French lyrics tend to be very creative, original and strive for poetry (trait that I often miss in most languages, including English), and even though all the most the adaptations provided in the last years have not been up to their predecessors, this series fell much shorter of the expectation, a huge disappointment for me.

France and Quebec share the same dubbing for the series, which is the European French version.

FlamSparks why? Brits and Americans don’t make separate dubbings. I know Spanish and Portuguese do it sometimes but I have never seen a separate dub for Canadian french unless it is a Canadian cartoon.
Canada and France have had discrete dubbings ever since TLM. Most recently they are starting to have the same lyrics (since Tangled) and some shared cast (Elsa [singing only], Moana, Maui, ...), but still most of the cast and most of the movies produce different dubbings: ua-cam.com/video/rGk2_WVww7s/v-deo.html
FlamSparks But the movie budgets are entirely different to a tv series. There simply isn’t enough money to dub all the languages the movie was made in and it is somewhat pointless to the execs to dub european and canadian because they can understand eachother. Tv standards are lower.
As far as we know, the dubbings made for the TV series are 33, including a few languages which don't dub sistematically every movie, like Hindi, Malay and Indonesian. And naturally, Portuguese and Spanish produced two different versions each, as it's always been (not just sometimes)
When Varian say "i m the bad guy, that fine" it hit me so deep. Because i relate to this quotes. I am not sure to be a good person like i am not always nice or polite, i can be rude and i am terrible with feelings (i don t know how to help someone who is crying as an example, even if the person is a friend). And as Varian i m fine with that because no one is 100% good or bad and it s not always black or white, i am living in different shades of grey were people can make bad thing for good reason.

I had my captions on, and since Italian were the only captions, it defaulted to Italian, which meant that I spent like half the song wondering why the captions weren't matching up with the voice.

La traduction est...vraiment littéral : On passe de "And I swear by the sword, if you're in, get on board" à "Et je lève mon épée à toute notre armée", j'ai l'impression qu'elle décrit ce qu'elle fait quand j'écoute ça. Sinon, à part la traduction, j'adore le chant de Varian, bien qu'il soit un peu trop mature contrairement à sa voix parlée. La voix de Cassandra.....Juste, sans commentaire, j'aurais préféré qu'ils prennent une voix chantée que de faire chanter Marie, c'est pas la pire, mais non plus la meilleure, elle est vraiment moyenne. Ensuite, pour Eugène, elle est bien et enfin, pour Gilles et Maeva, rien à rajouter, j'adore Maeva depuis le film et ça n'a pas changé dans la série. Du coup, je pense que c'est un peu bâclé quand même. Par contre, toute la traduction n'est pas mauvaise, on reste encore parfois sur les traces de la VO (Le passage de Varian est assez bien traduit et on garde les "Ready As I'll Ever Be" juste en rajoutant les pronoms "Je" ou "nous" avant pour garder son sens).
1:42 Bon je suis française et je suis la seule à être presque choquée que dans une chanson le passage: "notre destin que nous avons en main", la liaison entre "avons"et "en" n'est pas effectuée ? Genre normalement ça se dit "que nous avons *z'en* main". Je veux dire c'est plus joli, non ?
