My former beautician would pour magnesium on my scalp. Following my relaxer. Yes, it would tingle for a minute. But, it always strenghened my hair. Kept my hair from shedding. The healthiest that my hair had ever been. He retired. Sad for his customers. Lol
Sounds like something I need to try 🕵️♀️ How did he do this? Was it after the neutralising shampoo or before? And did he then shampoo the magnesium chloride out?
@@patriciapanther After the shampoo. He used a plastic condiment bottle. He then would squirt the magnesium on, over the sink. Then rinse. He would often follow up with an Aphogee. That would sting as well. Our hair would be as hard as a rock. We would sit under that dryer and could not touch it. Then rinse condition and style. He was the Bomb.
Karen Scales thanks for replying! I Defo want to try it out. I’m just worried about it drying out my hair. I remember the state my hair was in when sea salt water got in my strands... If inflammation is bad, and microneedling causes injuries (to develop collagen + a few other things), why isn't the inflammation from microneedling harmful to our hair?
Interesting insight. I think some combo of calcification and lack of bloodflow has been my problem. I have a sensitive scalp so mixing with a moisturizing oil is probably a safe bet. I have subscribed and will give this a try. 👍
@@JonRedeye Happy to. The magnesium oil didn't work for me. Too greasy and 'salty' as I recall, but I still do the moisturizer overnight 2-3 times a week (I just use regular baby oil.) My scalp feels softer and more elastic but not perfect. If magnesium helps, it's probably better taken as an oral supplement or thru natural food to keep one's levels up. The best methods that have worked for me are a cherry-picked selection of Danny Roddy's protocol; in my case natural desiccated thyroid (2-3 'grains' per day), regular eating; small meals 4-6 times a day (Diet = Lots of milk. Low fat, moderate protein, high carbs), Vitamin D (from the sun if available), and limiting (as much as humanly possible) stress and stressful environments; seeking out the opposite whenever possible. Oh...caffeine apparently is also pro-metabolic. I'm a coffee addict (3-5 strong cups a day) so I don't doubt that is a contributor. Has to be balanced with food though so I avoid drinking it on an empty stomach. Re the milk, I read a while back that, according to Ray Peat, calcification of skin and tissue is more likely a symptom of low calcium than some kind of excess, so I upped my milk intake and it does seem my skin issues have reduced. I've also had good experience in the past with topical Vitamin A but I haven't had any in stock for a while. Where I live they fortify the milk with Vitamins A and D so I suspect that has an effect. I think scalp care is important, but probably ineffective in isolation from everything else. I avoid gels and hair products, I use shampoo but I rinse it out immediately. Blow dry thoroughly (so as to prevent fungus growing) then do the overnight moisturizing thing when I have the energy and remember. As for regrowth, I haven't seen any. I think the best one can hope for (sans a transplant) is to hold on to the hair you have left. Whatever I'm doing is working though because I used to shed like a mofo in the shower. Now I don't shed at all. (I'm so used to this now I actually haven't checked for months. By coincidence I thought to check this morning, and yup - still no shedding!) I'm convinced now that hairloss is metabolic (and thus, systemic). For the same reason, it takes a lot of tweaking and persisting to fix. Whatever you do, just avoid finasteride like the plague. Just my 2c.
saw palmetto has a effect on the enzyme that convert testosterone into DHT, i dont believe it has any effect on DHT itself ? Thus it makes no sence to add it to the elixir ? adding magnesium seems smart, many athletes use it to avoid cramping like spraying mag-oil on their socks before a long match, and it seems that many of us are low on magnesium. Never heard that it decalcifiy tissues. nice little informative video, keep up the good work :)

It doesn't get oily at all, technically it's not scientific to even call it an oil. It just feels oily for some reason but scientifically it's not an oil. It will feel like an oil for 2 minutes, after that it would keep your scalp fresh and feeling really clean and a bit dry (due to the salt that settles on the area you applied it to) that salt is very easy to brush off with your hand, and it does make your hair stronger.
@JOHN 14:6 It looks like I won't need to be waiting 90 days because Ive already noticed a little regrowth in my thinning areas. Other people that know me have also said they noticed it looks better as well. However, note that the solution I use is not just magnesium oil, it is also contains essential oils. I use it every other day, leaving it for 20-30 minutes before washing out. I'm not sure why I notice any improvements after such a short time, but my friend has noticed improvements with her hair as well and she has only been using it for 3 weeks. After the first use, I could feel my scalp loosening up as if it was becoming softer and less restricted (tingling too) so maybe I had calcium buildup. Note that someone can always source all of the ingredients for themselves and make it at home. I look forward to see how much improvement I have in a few months, but Ive just started supplementing with pumpkinseed oil as well (this was long after I noticed improvement from the magnesium spray). Vitamin K2 is also linked to all of this since it moves calcium to hard tissue, and keeps it away from soft / unwanted tissue.

Good question???
If inflammation is bad, and microneedling causes injuries (to develop collagen + a few other things), why isn't the inflammation from microneedling harmful to our hair?
probably something like it only being temporary and the injuries causing a regeneration response outweighing it
Micro injury vs inflammation
