I take VitD3K2, NAC, VitC every day , never been on prescription drugs and haven't seen a doctor since 2003 except the dentist. I eat real food, no junk food ever. I'm 66 years old, work out every other day and barely have any Grey hair, all my siblings do. And Dr. Mandell is wonderful!

My hair is healthy and my hair is mostly my natural color. But I am healthy being that I am kissing 80 now. I still can run, jump, walk and even jump rope. I never smoked cigarettes, drank alcohol or did drugs. I did have cancer more then once and lost body organs. But I am still here. I heal very easy. Even my skin heals quick.

This was a huge eye opener. I was losing my hair and had a horrible case of insomnia. The dr keep telling me estrogen level maybe low. Wanted me to take HRT. I took your advice and request my Vitamin D levels check. The dr said that really is not necessary. I insisted. My levels were so low is was scary. So I am now taking 3000 IU of Vitamin D. I am happy to report I am starting to sleep through the night. All I can say is THANK YOU. I am so happy I found your channel.

My Dad started losing his hair in his 20's. I never knew him with a full head of hair, but what he had, up until his death at 89, was fully black, never any grey. He always quipped that he didn't waste hormones growing hair! 😉❤
At 60, I am taking after him in one aspect, no grey! I'm the only blonde in our family (my Dad and sister were/are olive skinned with dark hair and my Mom is fair with brunette hair). I'm still naturally blonde with not a grey in sight! My sister doesn't have any either, but she also has no idea what her natural hair color is anymore! (🙀Meow! I know.)

I’m in peri-menopause and bled for four months straight. My hair was falling out so now it is extremely thin. I am on iron pills now. I’m pretty upset over my hair loss 😢. I had hair loss and started using a lash serum in the bald areas and it grew back. I tried Rogaine/Minoxidil and the pill form as well. I was allergic to the pill as it caused me to have an itchy and burning scalp. My head felt like I had fire ants all over it even if I tried Benadryl. After I read the bottles of Rogaine/Minoxidil and 3 treatments of it, I discontinued its use. It says if you stop using it, your hair falls out. I didn’t want something I had to use in my hair and make it feel greasy and nasty forever (plus it’s expensive). The lash serum was the best solution. I have added Vitamin D since I’ve always been low on it. My hair started falling out after I had gamma knife brain surgery for a brain tumor and a hysterectomy at the age of 43. You don’t have to spend a ton of money on a lash serum. Check the ingredients. (I used one by Younique as well as one by Rodan & Fields. R&F is the same thing as Lastisse which is about $130/mo and also advertised as a cosmetic treatment. Younique brand has the same makeup and is 1/2 the price of the R&F one. Target also sells some brands that are $7 with high ratings and the same ingredients as well. So you don’t have to spend a fortune. I prefer the wand from Younique as it is like a mascara wand. R&F is more like a tiny paintbrush.)

Went to a neurologist who decided to do blood work and found out my D was so depleted he had to give me eight pills with 10,000 units of vitamins that I had to take one pill a week. Thank you, Dr. Mandell for putting this information out. A misconception about vitamin D is that if I sit out in the sun I don’t need to take any vitamin D. I’m getting it from the sun. But as we get older, we don’t absorb vitamin D as we did when we were younger. We also are wearing sunscreen that prevent us absorbing vitamin D. Four years ago, I started losing my hair. My body hurt. I had memory loss and brain fog I was depressed. I had lethargy and disinterested in everything around me. I had routine bloodwork, and I had high calcium levels and I had low vitamin D, but my doctor say that’s not enough to worry about. But with my hair started falling out, I finally went to my doctor and said run every blood test known to mankind. My vitamin D levels were not existent which contributes to all those symptoms. He put me on 6000 a day and he said I could take up to 10,000. And I’ve seen an improvement in the pain and in the memory loss and the brain fog and hopefully my hair will start coming back in. But I want to throw out there because sometimes we have to be the best steward of our own health. If you have these symptoms and you have high calcium, have your doctor run a PTH blood test. What also was contributing to all my symptoms was I had hyperparathyroidism. I had two tumors on my four parathyroid glands. I had them removed and I was getting better, but that’s when my vitamin D was going low and all the symptoms came back. What I learned from you is how to take them properly. I didn’t realize I needed to take it with a fatty meal. Thank you very much for putting out all this information. You can’t seem to get it from your own doctors office! So hopefully my hair will start growing back, my body aches, and my memory loss and fatigue has improved! Good luck to everyone but this issue!

Dr.,Most doctors don’t pay any attention to vitamin levels, which is frustrating. Many don’t mind giving patients medications that cause even more problems, but anything natural; they don’t care about! That’s just the world we live in now!! 😔

If you want natural remedies, then go to a naturopath and not a medically trained physician. Both have very different training styles and purpose. In an ideal world we should have best of both. No medicine is without side effects. There is always a risk of life threatening allergic reaction for example, exactly like an accident with driving. It’s up to us to make our own choices. There is no point blaming health professionals.

Oh yes, I blame a lot on “so called Health Professionals!.”However; I put my trust in Jesus, because He’s our Healer; not doctors. I’m literally broken all to pieces because of a hit & run accident that almost killed me, & have had so many surgeries that just made me worse. I have had more tests & been tried on so many medications that I lost count! I’m also allergic to 99% of all medications & am currently on Hospice Home Care. I often wonder if something natural would help with the chronic pain I live in 24/7! Only one doctor in 27 years has checked my vitamin/ mineral levels & she resigned years ago. That was my point to begin with. Lord bless you mmj.❤️👏🕊

I agree with most of the replies (the 2 replies directly below your own comment. HOWEVER, I do disagree that we should not blame the "medical professionals", the doctors/MD. The EDUCATION OF today's MDs is horribly inadequate and Biased Against anything Natural. They are Taught to Prescribe PHARMACEUTICALS despite every known side effects that damage people. In addition, the Big Pharma gives MDs various (and expensive) perks to entice them to buy anything & everything the Pharm industry creates....& falsifies results in various ways. Pharm Salesmen go to ALL MD offices for various reasons. MDs no longer even think about ethics much less follow any & do NOT critically think & make their own choices. I've wprked with MDs in their offices & in other settings. I am simply reporting what I've SEEN.

I seeing that I feel better feel brighter temperament-wise and sleep is a little better because I get up about 6 times a night. You need at least 10,000 units a day at minimum because some of us don’t absorb the D3 efficiently as we get older if we are overweight etc. I have the 10,000 units per softgel and just take few of them a day. Been doing that for the longest time. But you also need to take the K2 along with it and it should be mentioned by doctors who recommend D3 because it’s important for the calcium in your blood. Take D3 and K2 in addition to Zinc, Magnesium. Zinc helps the vitamins to get into the receptors in your body and very important for hair growth. If you want to get all these vitamins in a nutshell eat pasture raised eggs daily. Eggs is one food that’s nutritionally complex food.

Because when all my levels started going back up, I had the endocrinologist tell me I had him a serious disease, But he's a teacher at endocrinology so he should have known better. Since then the cortisol steroid has damaged my thyroid to the point where I'm on thyroid pills every day now, because the cortisol is now pushing down my thyroid, most doctors refuse to learn anything outside their box. I now have thousands of friends everywhere that I have met that also wear wigs. It’s great and now wearing different ones all the time. YES, you are 100% correct. DON'T just take plain Vitamin D. It MUST be the combination Vitamin D³K². It comes in one capsule. I buy Spring Valley brand at Walmart-- K²+D³ (which has 90mcg of K² + 125mcg of D³ per capsule).
None of the dozens of studies on Vit.D that I've read mentioned anything about eating fat with it though, so I don't. I do limit my sugar and caffeine intake though, which helps fight a multitude of diseases (e.g., cancer).
My doctor recommended that I take Vitamin D because he discovered I have a weak autoimmune system (which assists your body in fighting off diseases). He never mentioned that it should be D³ or anything about K². Be careful not to overdose on Vit.D though.
Also, Biotin helps strengthen hair and fingernails.

I have learned from Dr Mindy that she tested 100s of her patient's who took the gel caps and they all had low D until they started using vit D drops then re tested and there vit D levels finally came up.
