What a fantastic time capsule pieced together about this team in their last years and about a chassis that I honestly thought had been lost to time. I had a zero hour contract at the time of the team auction, and though I bought a Caterham Hat when they were doing their initial crowd funding I could only watch and dream when the auction pieces were listed. So happy to see that chassis got bought by someone with the passion and drive to see it restored like this. History gets forgotten if not for those willing to document and preserve it. Keep up the amazing work and one day i'd love to see this thing in person!
I just wanna say thank you for putting in your time and effort to fully restore this car to its former glory, and for making a mini documentary series about caterham f1
6:35 - "The car looked good in Black" - 90% of it looked good but nothing on the planet was ever going to make that nose look good. Love these videos, keep them coming.
I always follow and cheer on the smaller teams fighting the odds and punching above their weight. Adds interest to the grid. Quality vlog. Well done. Looking forward to following your progress.
nice video, you must have spent some time pieceing all this together, i was race team lead composites tech from 2011 until 6 months before the end, got out just before it got smelly, thanks for video, good memories and a lot of good friend/colleagues on here
absolutely love these videos. I'm obsessed with this in depth knowledge and video that ive never seen before. So much detail. Can't wait for the next one
Very nice and informative to see, also some new footage and design drawings I haven't seen before! I've followed you on Twitter for a while to follow the rebuild step by step
I remember caterham. They made debut as Lotus Racing in 2010. They renamed the team as caterham in 2012, this is keep going until 2014. Caterham didn't have Chance to use their 2014 car during the 2015 season, before they folded.
I always thought the monocoque is indestructible But looking at your previous video I realized it can be damaged too & other F1 videos revealed accident damages to the monocoque and it is common for monocoque to be repaired
Love love love the build - but that music in the first half - it’s making my ears bleed. Absolutely unnecessary and makes it almost unwatchable. Just my 2c.

So amazing you did this and have documented for all to see. Please keep these videos coming.
Thank you! Will do!
Looking forward to the rest of this series!

Thank you for such kind words. There is plenty more to come
Thank you for taking time out of your busy day to reply to my comment
It's brilliant. Thanks for sharing all these details from the archive alongside your rebuild.
Thanks for watching, the next episode tells the story of the rolling chassis build

Looking forward to following your progress.
Well said!
Been waiting years for u to start posting these.. They don't disappoint! Can't wait for more..
Thank you 👍
Well done on the rebuild looks great. Pity the team folded in the way it did. Such hard working people hampered by a lack of investment 😢.
Found you by accident subbed I love F1 but always have a soft spot for the underdog

Keep the uploads coming! I am loving the series, this is truly geek level of information.
Thanks, will do!
WOW! Fantastic video! Congratulations!!! Go Caterham!
Thank you!!
Really interesting series! Thank you so much for sharing the build process with us! 🖤🚀

Love this! Best of luck and greetings from Switzerland
Thanks so much!
Is this your private archive from when you were working at Caterham F1?
I am a normal F1 fan so have spent years researching footage and getting it from old team members
Beautiful machine
The best of luck mate
very interesting project I hope you can rebuild the car
That's the plan!
Was this meant to be the first video? None of this is adding to where you left off in episode 1
Very nice and informative to see, also some new footage and design drawings I haven't seen before! I've followed you on Twitter for a while to follow the rebuild step by step
Awesome, thank you!
How did you get all of this footage and detailed information! Was it part of your auction buy?
Years of research and searching the net as well as some info I bought at the time
I'm very pleased to see you improve your content in a matter of months, keep it up!
Incredible to see Leafield back then compared to now!
High great stuff. most probably the wrong platform but I bought some bits at the auctions I have to dispose of due to downsizing. Regards
Thank you for enabling comments. Previous video was set as made for kids so we couldn’t comment, really excited to see where this goes!!
OMG what an AMAZING video series, insider footage, I bet you had some major affiliation with the company while they were still afloat
I wish! but afraid just a normal F1 fan

Great video
Thanks!
Didi you have relation to the team at the time? Thanks for uploading!
Not at all
Is the car finished now and the videos coming out bit by bit?
Sort of. The car should be drivable in a few weeks
I always thought the monocoque is indestructible
But looking at your previous video
I realized it can be damaged too

Oh that music!
Changing to the current v6 turbo was the worst decision made in modern F1. Just give me a screaming NA V8, v10 or v12.
Imagine still using 720p in 2024...
Love love love the build - but that music in the first half - it’s making my ears bleed. Absolutely unnecessary and makes it almost unwatchable. Just my 2c.
Music is awful agree and white text is different to read quickly
Bro rebuilt the ugliest f1 car in history ☠, in all seriousness though, very nice job
Ahhhh no sound fella 😮
Definitely a problem on your end. I have perfect audio
Ahhh just tried again and works fine, I did start watching 30 seconds after upload, must have caught up 👍
Ted krapest.... F1 really needs him gone
