Why? What is even the point? Are you Boccherini’s descendant or something? Are you just trying to piss off the snake that is radical leftism? I love Boccherini’s music as well. He’s actually one of my favourite composers (after Vivaldi of course). Since you’re not speaking European Spanish or Italian right now I think it’d be fairly easy for me to assume that you do not belong to an 18th century Spaniard/Italian family so you don’t really belong to that culture. So what are you proud of? I’m assuming that you’re a white American. If you were his DIRECT traceable descendant then I could understand that but I don’t think you are. So that only really leaves the option that you posted this comment to piss off liberals. I’m not saying this to piss you off or anything I’m just tired of this constant political game that America is playing right now. It’s stupid, and both sides should be ashamed
Also there are plenty of examples of beautiful art that isn’t European. Ever heard of The Butterfly Lover’s Concerto? It’s one of the greatest concerti of all time! I’d recommend the Gil Shaham recording but classical music isn’t great because it’s European! Classical music is about the unity in 50 people coming together to make something breathtaking!

In terms of composing themes, for me, Boccherini is the supreme master of all time, even exceeding Mozart. We see it here in these concerti, but I know his guitar quintets extremely well. I wish that I discovered classical music early in my life, but perhaps I wouldn't have appreciated its beauty until I was a little older. It was Stanley Kubrick 's A Clockwork Orange which ignited the initial interest. I have heard Boccherini before. But there are many composers that I have yet to discover or delve more deeply into.
Same "path to discovery" here, Greg! You're spot~on right: you & I both = better late than never to connect with musical genius!! :-)))......Take care, my friend!
My mother always played clasdical on record player in 50's & 60's grew up loving classical best but have wide taste in music. It lifts us up our of otherwise dreariness.
@@Patriciateresat You've been drinking or smoking (or listening to) something toxic if you think so. The music itself, & we, who appreciate it, bely your depressive world view. There will always be political/commercial interests to make us feel guilty about something, no matter what - easier to manipulate us thereby. Studied with actual science, by the way, the planet is doing fine, responding to its orbit around the sun, eruptive radiation & all, traversing its climatic ranges - all at an evolutionary level far beyond human influence. Manipulative humans are indeed a scourge, when passive/depressive compliance by majorities don't stand up to them. Most artists, musicians, writers, et al. do tend to stand up, to outright totalitarian rule - then, alas, sometimes in turn manipulated by the soft dictatorship of "caring" bureaucracies, not so? Just a thought...
Well interesting Noe. Do you put stock in the carnal world. I do not. We can understand the work of evil in the world and know those who worship Satan do evil things. As always they conceil their works, they speak with their wisdom about evil as powerful. but their hearts are cold toward their fellow man. Do not be blinded by the lie that there is no hope. "Hope," hope is in Christ.
@@jigdisciple9764 You have been taught as a Christian that God is manifested in his creation. Granted, human beings are the exception to that world because they have the ability to choose between right and wrong. But there are good people in this world. Christ himself spoke of them in the Beatitudes. (Matthew 5-7) "Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God. Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God." Those were #6 and #7.

This to me, has been the killing of two birds with one stone- discovering two musicians, through the music and the picture on the cover. No doubt I shall learn more about these two musicians as time goes by.
Such delightful music, expertly & beautifully played. So easy to overlook Boccherini's deep & rich expression for cello in all these works (not just the 1-2 often heard, as you mention). Many, many thanks!
Michael Grieve - ‘Cause it’s damn hard! Boccherini was an astounding cellist (used to play top-level violin sonatas on the cello AT PITCH!) and he wrote technically demanding cello parts. If you can play what Boccherini wrote for the cello, there’s little else you cannot play...
My thanks can't be measured nor any words could deliver my gratitude for what you have done for Boccherini's fans by compiling all Cello concertos in one piece. Unlike his other works scattered separate on youtube which makes a bit inconvenient to listen them according to the catalogue this very brilliant work of yours provides us the listeners a great convenience. I have two questions though: First: where is the cello concerto "G 484"? Second: in Wikipedia the catalogue is given and there the order is different. e.g. No 1 is G 474 and here it's No 5
Great works, wonderful recording. To me classical music is not music to do anything else but to listen to. I can only feel the benefits of the music when I just sit and listen. Going back to the recording, it is on the Brilliant Classics label, so it is almost a certain bargain for another of their complete sets. To whoever uploaded here, Thanks. Gracias, Merci. It's the opposite for me. Classical music allows me to think, work, read and be productive. Pop music is so jarring and intrusive, it disables me from doing anything else...
Some of these lovely concerts were composed to be performed by the Prince of Asturias, future King Carlos IV of Spain, who had no other talents than being a competent cello and viola performer.

Bravo operadog2000. Your time and effort to write this playlist out is well appreciated by all of us. Thank you so much.
@@michaelanzelino5068 very kind. Stay safe!!
Greg, it was Clockwork Orange that really started for me, but that said I had purchased the soundtrack for 2001 A Space Odyssey in 1968.
A Clockwork Orange? Jesus, that’s a pretty dark way to be introduced to classical.
My introduction was bugs bunny.
My introduction was a Tide commercial...
Judging by the comments there is still hope for the world. Pockets of enlightenment keeping civilization afloat.
Do you really think so? Even if I drank a lot of whiskey I couldn't believe this, humans are a scourge.
@@Patriciateresat It all depends on which ones you know. I have worked with some of the worst humans alive. But I also know people who give unselfishly of their time and of their belongings to others. Those acts of kindness reassure even the cynical that all are not planet lice.
Outstanding concertos.
I am so glad I happened upon this album. Fabulous!
I'm completely delighted
BEAUTIFUL BEAUTIFUL BEAUTIFUL
Je découvre Boccherini, c'est merveilleux, merciii.
Show
This to me, has been the killing of two birds with one stone- discovering two musicians, through the music and the picture on the cover. No doubt I shall learn more about these two musicians as time goes by.
Such delightful music, expertly & beautifully played. So easy to overlook Boccherini's deep & rich expression for cello in all these works (not just the 1-2 often heard, as you mention). Many, many thanks!
Un vrai plaisir !!!!
Merci pour ce magnifique moment.
Brilliant. Why don't players play this superb music more often
look to ure right>>>it is avaiable 24/7 & free...Enjoy...°!°

Michael Grieve - ‘Cause it’s damn hard!
Boccherini was an astounding cellist (used to play top-level violin sonatas on the cello AT PITCH!) and he wrote technically demanding cello parts. If you can play what Boccherini wrote for the cello, there’s little else you cannot play...
@@solooverland3666 correct. I learned it, to some extent, by listening to you tube channels or Spotify.
I don't have complete of anything. It is womderful to listen to complete set of symphonies, concertos etc... Now I feel complete! Thank you So Much.
lovely interpretation! the cellist is superb
It took watching the movie "Master and Commander: The Farside of the World" for me to "discover" Boccherini I love these Concertos!
A truly wondrous piece of music by a great composer.
Wunderbar.
Second: in Wikipedia the catalogue is given and there the order is different. e.g. No 1 is G 474 and here it's No 5
wonderful performance! what an achievement. The instrument is beautiful as well, i would love to know what he's playing on
Brilliant Classics köszönöm.
An very underrated Componist!
Danken.Grazie.
It's the opposite for me. Classical music allows me to think, work, read and be productive. Pop music is so jarring and intrusive, it disables me from doing anything else...
Beautiful!
Boccherini's cello so AMAZING !!
Wonderful This Music relax and i love Thanks
Grandioso...sublime...!!
Some of these lovely concerts were composed to be performed by the Prince of Asturias, future King Carlos IV of Spain, who had no other talents than being a competent cello and viola performer.
elegant and relaxing
The best music never dies...

This huge Italian composer of surprising ingenuity Mozart style but more baroque, allegorical and thank you for having given us his art for posterity, so we are forced to leave our mark of something transcendent, who does not appreciate this type of music, find a half empty life, greetings from Mexico

I played the G no 3, G 480 last year for my exam, fell in love
Very uplifting in these tough times. Thank you.
