I often thought that Bach had a direct connection with God himself and that he composed for him. My favorite from this opus is: Orchestral Suite No.2 in B minor BWV 1067 - VII Badineri However, everyone knows about Bach, but Albinoni was an incredible discovery for me and that he was unfairly neglected.
This is the kind of music we as children were happy to hear on the radio, back in the sixties, our mother was quite an accomplished mandolin player, and she always turned on the classical channel, they still announced then, quite solemnly: 'this time we will play for you a less known composer, an oboe concerto by Albinoni' :-)

I heard the second movement as a child while taking lessons from the Boston Pops first chair violinist under Williams ( I think he was just horsing around with his orchestral mate and not actually performing...likely one of many demonstrations). I hadn't heard it since, and almost 30 years later, I remembered the melody in a dream a few nights ago... after much humming and sleuthing I found this... It is strange where those touching melodies root themselves.... Italian composers just seem to have that magic.
