- Where Did this Family Go? And What Happened to this Family? Explore this Abandoned House Everything Left Behind! In this series we explore abandoned homes in Alton, Illinois. Many of them are on a demo list and will be demolished very soon! Alton once enjoyed a golden age of industry and manufacturing. Over time all the industries and jobs left. Homes were not maintained and properties were abandoned. Many were purchased by slum lords and absentee landords who milked every last bit of life out of the structures in pursuit of rent money. Not only did this decline have an effect on the structures in Alton, but there was also a social cost and caused problems in family units. As dysfunction set in many parts of this small city society were ravaged. Join us as we try to capture a last glimpse of ghosts of the past in the disappearing neighborhoods of Alton, Illinois.
Tony glad to see you back. I missed your videos.
Upload more often please! Your narration is so much better than other explore channels 😩 go to more haunted/murder location spots too. A road trip to Leakin park in Baltimore would be amazing
I appreciate it.. it takes hours too upload and film.. I do as much as I can..
good find
Really makes you wonder where these folks are today.....if they’re still around. It really kinda puts things into perspective.......like how fragile and short life can be.
HECK YA! Was over at the dam by the museum and wondered about the old glass factory..im 45 .I remember seeing it as a kid windows broken and its still there..crazy
Where is it???????? I thought all the glass factory was knocked down and they built those industrial parks on it
Most enjoyable! I Thankyou & Cheers!
Great to see you back! Looking forward to more videos.Happy New Year!
I live in Alton. Sad they're tearing down these old homes but it would be far to expensive to rehab most of them.
Ya just let them sit and decay then
Anything but tear them down
Missed your videos!
Thanks
Hey Tony, it’s good to see you out again! My guess was about the same as yours. It appears to me the last people who lived in that house were elderly and passed away. Once they died, the family just left everything there. I can totally get where there was probably an adult child staying there with the grandkids to care for the elderly gentleman that passed away. I was one year off on that photo. When I first saw it, my guess was late October or early November of 1973, but when you flipped it over, it said 1972. Damn, I was close. The twin girls in that photo looked pretty hot back then, I’m sure they got a lot of attention from the boys in high school. Hey, I wasn’t even born yet, lol.
I was 9 in '72. That pic reminds me of one set of my older cousins from back east, 2 sisters & a brother - & one of the girls is even named Darlene! D was a cool cuz, she used to let me play her 45's while she was at school.
Awesome video but sad seeing all of the belong still there and I don’t like when older home are getting torn down because they are better built just saying have a great day 😊
My hometown!
I now live in the NYC metro area in NJ
How do you find these places?
Either driving around areas that have a lot of beat up buildings in areas that look rough.. or in this case a list
The shitter in the basement is classic rust belt. men would come in thru the basement door and take all of there filthy ish off before heading upstairs. usually there is a simple showerhead near by too.
Cool
You better never sell this youtube channel you built Tony!
Try not too
