Hey me and my friends have a passion for urban exploring and are Alton born and raised. I would really love to know some spots if you’re willing to give any out!
Per the information I found online, that house was built in 1930. You’re definitely right, the people who lived there seemed to be hoarders, that house is nasty and there is way too much stuff inside. I’m assuming with all the furniture tipped over, cabinet doors opened and things strewn throughout the house, other people have already been there looking for money, jewelry and other valuables to take. The entire house looks like it’s been ransacked.
That Montgomery wards catalog and the Shell can would of been hard for me to resist to take, I'm a collector of old retail stuff. I have taken old Sears catalogs out of a house once actually but I knew that the house was getting demolished in a few days anyways,so that was how I justified it to myself lol. Great vid as always guys, stay safe.
Ive been watching these videos for awhile, always cool. I stayed in a house for a little while when I was a kid on Oakwood in Alton, down towards the end. I believe it's now just sitting vacant and even back then there were a few others as well.
In my opinion -> This is not the original house on the property. The stone walls in the yard are from the 1800's. The 2 story part has a concrete and concrete block foundation while the rear part was stone and dirt. Good video.
It could be that the elderly person that lived there at the time could have been immunocompromised due to cancer or another health condition requiring them to wear a disposable face mask when in public. Based on that the masks you found inside the house could pre date the pandemic. Just a possibility Tony.👍
This is sad and wrong. If I died n had no one left in my family, I sure in hell would not appreciate someone just rummaging thru my things personally. This feels wrong on many levels. Thats just me, tho. 🤷♀️ Pretty sure this is also illegal.
Great job as always. The woman that lived there died in May 2012 at 74 her husband is 91 and lives will their children. So sad!
Awesome wondered if he was alive
I'll never understand why people have to tear it all up instead of just looking 😕
Where have you been dude? I lost track of your stuff. You dont do your thing anymore?
Tony that intro was awesome
Y’all are crazy brave to do this kind of stuff. It feels like a setting of a horror movie. Great vid man

So much money in scrap alone. What a waste
where is this familys go??
super
Have you ever encountered folks hanging out in these places you've explored? I'd love to visit these places to do some photography.
Yes
I think local people must come in and ransack these houses not long after being abandoned, because they're usually in this state
now as for the house all it needs is some cleaning and it will look just fine
A ton of cleaning and who knows if the structure is ok. All the updating Wow huge project that would take months.
See the bedroom looks like they were snatched away one night

Of all the abandoned dilapidated ramshackle house they come across there are no rats! Rats love abandoned houses ! 🤷♂️

I don't think hoarder is right, if someone didn't go in and throw all the contents every where it would be fine.
