The Santos Watch in this video is not the large variant at 39.5 mm. It is actually the medium variant at 35.1mm. The large has a date. The medium doesn't. I have this watch. Other then that good video.

Love my Cartier Santos, but I have no illusion about it or any watch being an investment- it’s been hyped so much with Rolex and just starting to crash. Vintage Patek’s maybe and some 18K gold Rolex pieces but all the rest no …
Thats simple not true if bought at gm prices santos is definitely an investment it has shown an increase of 6-8% since its release consistently is it a great investment absolutely not but is it a decent store of value absolutely yes and the bonus is you get to flaunt this beauty on your wrist
hey i have a cartier de calibre but my watch does have the seconds hand in a diff circircle it is with the hour hand and the minute hand i cant find that watch anywhere in google :( can someone tell me what that is ?
No. But watches that fall off a cliff in value certainly make for secondary market used bargains. If you must buy new then you get the full guarantee and know the day 1 history of the watch and that it’s genuine and not stolen. But you will take a large hit if you don’t get on with the piece and end up selling.
Do not invest in watches!!!!! It's a stupid move to Rely on watches to increase in value...... I usually expect my watches to resale for 60% of what I originally paid
Informative video, subbed! I have been planning to buy a quatz Santos dumont S or L in stainless steel w retail price. Do you think it will retain its value like popular Santos? Or how much more it can lose value est.? Thanks
In secondary market you can find cartier pasha at very low cost,2200$, cartier ronde solo at 2800 or 3000,only the new model still enough expensive and old santos too expensive,i buy a new santos automatique in year 2000,sell it at 1600$ 5 years after butnow it cost 4500$ minimum, its insane!!! But new cartier like any other luxury brand are too expensive, more expensive is better for rich buyer who buy something only for his high price, they dont care the real value they just want something that comun people canot buy for feel superiorr..only vanity
only rare Cartier watches from the Private line, limit editions, collectables, etc. have a chance to increase in value, mass-production pieces will not.
Some are still up in value. But examples would me a omega seamaster 300 if you bought it new it’s not worth what you paid. And even a brand new Rolex just date sells used for less the msrp. So it’s cheaper used. The prices have come down a lot. But some are still over retail. I make it a point to not pay more for something used then it cost new in the same model year. If I wanted a used Rolex just date I would want it a few thousand under msrp or I would just want the market comes down more. Or just buy a Tudor or omega. Then I can get a watch now and buy the Rolex when it comes back down.

The Cartier Santos is an iconic beautiful but I would not buy one. Why? Because the Santos is extremely scratch prone, especially on the high polished bezel. Cartier knows about this flaw and refuses to fix it, meanwhile, UA-camrs keep making excuses for the flawed and subpar metal casing. Silver colored watches, such as stainless steel and titanium, are the defacto metal of choice. Why, in 2024, aren't manufacturers making "scratch-proof" watches? There are PVD coatings and nomenclatures like 316L steel, super titanium, TinSkin 3.0, and platinum encasements. A company as profitable and well funded as Cartier has no excuse for making watches that are scratch prone. Invest a little R&D and fix this problem. It's not just a Cartier problem, but most luxury watchmakers don't put in the effort to ensure their watches are "scratch-proof" or as scratch resistant as possible. It's a shame. For this reason alone I would never buy a Cartier Santos. Profits above all. So what are the most scratch resistant metals? Tegiment steel and UltraHex titanium.

If you got a buy 1 take 1 Invicta then sold the free 1 for even $10, that's a good investment already
