Nice to see such a knowledgeable salesperson, I have been in too many so called "watch stores" where the sales "professional" did not know the difference between an automatic and a manual would watch. Something you would expect a person selling multi thousand dollar watches to definitely now.
The first watch I ever bought was a Citizen. The second one was the Longines Hydroconquest with the blue bezel and blue strap and I'm already saving to get myself an Omega Speedmaster as my third watch.

Most exciting for me, because it was COMPLETELY unexpected and it gets NO attention amongst watch enthusiasts online, was that Citizen Eco-Drive Chandler BM8471-01E that you tossed in right at the end. It is one of my favorite budget watches (usually available under $100). It has a super clean aesthetic, nice color accent from the copper seconds hand and copper edging on the numerals, is super legible with those enormous Arabic numerals (you can use it as a wall clock!) and absolutely fantastic lume, and the stealthy day and date slot-like window adds functionality without interrupting the layout of the rest of the dial. I don't know of anything else like it. My only quibbles are (1) that the watch's side profile makes it wear large for a 42 mm with 10.5 mm thickness, (2) whether the seconds hand hits the markers varies a lot from unit to unit, and (3) the minutes hand is too short. Would also be nice if the glass were sapphire, but that's am easy mod later if needed.
You can tell it’s a hypothetical pick when a $1,600 Longines is the beater watch. A lovely watch with heritage which anyone outwith our narrow bandwidth interest group would be delighted with. Fun video and I thought the sales lady was excellent, especially introducing the Shinola.
Mate, when she recommend Shinola and you entertained the idea, I almost dislike the whole video. Although I wonder why you went with the hydroconquest since you already have Superocean in the rosters? It's a wonderful piece from one of my goto watchmaker, but Longines also offers a range of versatile watches for daily uses in that price range or even less than that. Great content nontheless!
one of my favorite videos so far. Love the thought process, back and forth with you and seller (both providing good pieces of information about watch, brand, the topic of collection building, etc.). I would feel that people serious about their collection would also spend lots of time iterating through similar questions to best allocate their resources. I think it would be cool if you could help your audience form their collections! Not only because of your wealth of knowledge but also because you have good taste!
Great video. I’d have picked a non-dive watch for the ‘beater’ but the Longines IS lovely. What I was most struck by though, was how knowledgeable and helpful the sales associate was. It is always pleasing to see a real professional showcasing her skills while doing her thing.
I can relate to this collection... While I have about 8 watches, my main rotation of "heavier" hitters are: Omega FOIS, JLC Reverso Small Seconds, Tudor BB36, Rolex OP36 (Blue 3,6,9 dial). Teddy, way to be a gentleman and not correct on her the fact the FOIS is sapphire and not hesalite!
As a European, I’m baffled by the “mismatch” between the rather ugly (IMHO...) mall architecture on the outside and the extremely extensive selection of prestigious brands they appear to carry on the inside 🤪
Until you mentioned the discord between the shabby design of the building and the exemplary craftsmanship of the watches being sold inside, I was completely oblivious to it. I guess, living in the United States for my entire life, I have gotten so accustomed to this disparity that I don't even notice it. This stark contrast is pretty common here. Its nice to get an outsider's perspective to make me aware of things I don't normally notice. Thanks!
As someone from the area, it’s somewhat odd to me to. I didn’t notice that though until after I spend a little time in Germany and saw the why luxury stores look there. It’s an older mall that’s been renovated to be fair though (I think).
As we say here in, Don't judge the book by the cover! Despite the outside architecture is as many malls in USA... We do not discuss taste, we just pity it...
The coffee shop you go to is probably older than the city of Omaha. Plus, it's a mall, which is rarely going to exist within an architectural setting that's had any other influence but supply side economics. IOW, 'Murica!

"See ya guys thanks for letting me shoot the video!"
probably cost them $100 in salary and overhead for a 30 minute ad.. not too shabby
@@sidewinderxx i get that. I made this comment for people who thought he actually spent 25k
@@grizzlyrunfast You're right, didn't notice, he actually didn't buy them... Just said he was but we didn't see him pay.
Nice video Teddy. Love this format.
The speedmaster was my favorite!
Damn , the omega speedmaster is such a beautiful watch ! Dream first watch.
Great video. I’d have picked a non-dive watch for the ‘beater’ but the Longines IS lovely. What I was most struck by though, was how knowledgeable and helpful the sales associate was. It is always pleasing to see a real professional showcasing her skills while doing her thing.
Great vídeo,as always. The challenge of any watch addicted dreams. The lady is professional and helpful. Congratulations!
I was thinking the same, reminds me a bit of an airport terminal.
Nice work! That was a very cool format for a video.
Haven’t seen an AD this well stocked in a LONG time. Also, next time get the Zenith.
Great content! Looking forward to see more of these kinda videos.
That’s great to help a local business out 👍🏽
Great video Teddy! I have no idea why that was so satisfying to watch, but it certainly was. Props to the store rep as well.
Watching from Cameroon. I have been longing for an entry level tissot dress watch, can’t afford one. This video just made me laugh hard at my life 🤣. Nice collection Teddy
Check the used market on eBay!
Hmmm unless u are businessman in Cameroon...this is way too much looking at what an average individual gets as salary in that country.
@@Ghost345621 Great suggestion but a sound knowledge is required.
@@TuneinR True, reputable dealers and research are a must. Gambling on the cheapest offer from a random buyer, not sure I'd want to get in that potential headache!
You do you mate,Tissot has some great pieces.I adore my seastar 80 and have more expensive watches.Bought it at the store for 750€,turns out it's on Amazon for 550€.
I think I would have been happy with any of those, Teddy literally lived the dream. Like if anyone ever came to me and said "Pick one and keep it" man, I'd freak out, but would also be the happiest moment of my life so far, so this is pretty awesome, why settle?
I could hear in my head, Jory The Time Teller screaming and punching my table the moment the lady offered Shinola and Teddy agreed with her.
I think he was just being nice. If you watch the video closely you can see Teddy flinch when she said Shinola.
TB was surprisingly gracious about it and actually handled one.🙄 Said something about polarizing and love/hate, perhaps concerned about unsubscribers. 11:37 Now Jory is definitely more outspoken about his concerns with the brand.
Ha! My favorite was the Eco Drive at the end! I'm more of a tool watch guy I guess. That Zenith Shadow Primero though, I need it!!!
Why do I feel you knew every watch you would buy before you went in :)
Viewmaster in white is a beauty, getting a black strap tho, for blue, not a diver tho, from Hamilton jazzmaster is amazing. Tissot Visodate a beauty as well, elegant, classy, casual
Actually that Citizen watch really surprised me.
Great sales person. Knowledgeable, personable, informative, great guidance without being pushy. If I'm ever in that area I will definitely stop in and ask for Elizabeth. You should maybe do a discount for your followers. Great stuff, wishing you all the best in the new year.
Teddy can you go to experienced dealers and have a price limit then ask them to choose 3 watches to make a collection and see other peoples ideas? Great video btw the lady seemed very intelligent and sweet
@Nigel Molesworth well the same guy telling me wtf.. is the same one posting videos on a girl writing in her diary 🤔
Kudos Teddy! Loved the video and loved the lovely sales lady. She was brilliant and informative.
