One thing you missed, when you first get rescued by Starbuck by climbing the rope, one of the crew says that they have been in the whale for 644 days.
This makes sense timeline wise as with our given knowledge of the way the Mirror works and its limit for only the past 3-4 years (excluding during Walpurgisnacht) it explains how we can get IDs of the Pequod from before they got trapped in the whale.

Honestly its fair to mention the character development that occured this chapter, cause I think it's a pretty overlooked thing. With Sinclair becoming more vaguely threathening, story beats from Yi Sang's Canto coming back and the many obscure hints to Hong Lu's family all being pretty neat little breadcrumbs of development/foreshadowing

Fun fact: Pilot continues the theme of the LCCB employee names, that being TV related, Pilot as in pilot episode and Effie and Saude together sound like episode and their second appearance in Canto 3 is titled Effie-Saude, too as in "episode 2".
Also on the topic of Ismael's long hair, along with all the things you point out there are 2 more potential reasons for Ismael's long hair: 1. To resemble Ahab's long hair to add more connection to the two of them. And 2. Because Queequeg liked Ismael's bright orange hair she grew it out so there's more to see.

    Some thing to point out:
If dante's gead has a bomb mechanism it means is a prostetic, which seems to both har or the power of A bow and use a singularity to rewind the sinners.
There is also this foreshadowing in canto 4 when they talk about what makes it LEGAL in the city when resurecting bodies, ending with meurasault remarking that rewinding memories as well as body MAY be taboo.
Which kinda fit what dante does, with this we may just learn Dante's power are LEGAL in the city but only as LONG as the head isnt challenge.
What Ishmael goes trought when inside rhe whale is call EGO DEATH
A real psycological phenomena that can happen to humans where their entire sense of self is destroy, amd then those that survive are Reborn

About what we know of oil whale and pallidification, it sort of makes sense that the golden boughs can counteract it.
The boughs are cristalizations of the light, emotion purified and concentrated. They resonate with the strongest ego nearby, heighteing their emotions and transforming the environment.

One thing I noticed was during Hong-Lu's story on the ship. It's more than likely an actual story, or at least references an actual monster: the Jiangshi. They're also called Chinese Hopping Vampires, so it makes sense he'd have a story about them. I don't think it's related to the plot (YET), but it's interesting to see things like that pop up in Limbus.

You mentioned that Rim's group being connected to a "Star" might be linked to a "Star of the City", but while that may be the case eventually, I personally think they're referring to Dante's own star. It was mostly discussed in the Prologue and Canto I by Dante and Faust and hasn't seen much discussion since, but it seems to be how Dante brings back the Sinners, it's something Dante _already had_ prior to getting their clock prosthetic and is likely the reason Iori's goons were after it, and Faust mentions it as something she's "chasing after" at the end of her Character Promo video.
Given how Sonya, Demian, and Rim - the three people with the Mark of Cain outside of Limbus Company - all appear to aid Dante with obtaining a Golden Bough, it's likely that they have some kind of prior connection or even loyalty to Dante and consider them to be a way to find that better future. Note specifically that Sonya himself, when deciding to give Dante the Golden Bough, says that they're collecting the Boughs for the sake of a better future.

I’m thinking all of the stars and roots and such words all point towards the tree of light which is l corps singularity considering direct branches from it is inside L corp facilities. This also shows why Limbus company is so careful with not letting the golden boughs fall out of their hands because the only other way to obtain them is to go to the library and everyone in the city with some power knows of the dangers inside the library considering many they killed many powerful people. Considering Ricardo is basically about the rank of a Capo and almost wiped out the whole squad and the fact the library killed 3 and their sottocapo in one sitting makes sense why nobody even the wings have tried to venture to the library and take what remains of L corps tree of light.

Ok here’s my theory sit down this is going to be a long one. After we’re done with each of the twelve cantos dealing with the sinners past. I theorize that there will be at least two other “books” added to the game, Purgatorio and Paradiso. The reason behind this is because Limbus is very obviously inspired by the divine comedy, and the divine comedy is actually split into three books Inferno, Purgatorio, and Paradiso. The book we’re currently in is Inferno, as shown by the button leading to the canto selection.
Not only that, but I think I might know what the villains of the two other “books” might be. For Purgatorio I believe the villains to be Demian and his associates, like Rim. Reason being is that Purgatorio is about ascending Purgatory to reach Heaven, and Purgatory is divided into terraces. Each of which is named after one of the seven deadly sins along with Ante-Purgatory at the very bottom and The Earthly Paradise at the very top. It is very clear that Demian and his associates each represent one of the seven deadly sins. As we can see seven of them in the trailer and the three hallways in the back of Mephistopheles, with the middle one representing Purgatory being blue. Which is their main color. I also theorize that in the later half of the “book” that Virgil will die or otherwise be replaced by someone named Beatrice. This is because in the Purgatorio Virgil can’t follow Dante into Heaven due to him not being a Christian. Instead Dante’s guide in Heaven is Beatrice, Dante’s muse.
For Paradiso I believe the villain will either be Carmen, Ayin, or both. This is because Carmen is heavily associated with Christian themes as shown through some abnormalities, which can also be said about Ayin. They can easily be placed in the position of God or even the Trinity (I don’t know who would be the third) as both have been integrated into the light.
However there are still some story beats that I am unsure how they will fit. Mainly what the Purple Tear is up to and why is she important, who will Beatrice be and how is she related to Dante, and when will the LCB rebel against the company. I also have some theories about the more specific story beats for Purgatorio and Paradiso, but I’ll have to do more research. Anyway what’s your thoughts on my theory and do you have any theories of your own you want to share.

We do know it’s possible to get an ego without hearing her. Kali for example. It’s also possible Carmen either decided she wasn’t worth convincing or was trying to talk to her and just got ignored. I think that last option is pretty darn funny.

    • @devalous8281
      @devalous8281 6 місяців тому +8

I imagine that it goes more along the lines of Ahab being so focused on the moment that Carman can’t even materialize in Ahab’s mind for their conversation to begin, along with the fact that Ahab knows perfectly well who she is and how horrible of a person she is which is why she instantly manifests her EGO. Ahab probably already manifested it before hand but it was only at that moment when it became complete which is also what would explain why Ahab and her crew managed to fend off the palidifidcation

    • @IchCharacter
      @IchCharacter 6 місяців тому +2

@@devalous8281 Yeah, that would make sense, since Ahab cluelessly riding the Pequod and crew into the whale really wouldn't suit her character. There's probably no one in the City that knows more about the Pallid Whale than Ahab and with her E.G.O she had a weapon that could have killed the whale (and ultimately did, though Ishmael was the one to use her harpoon). It's also the only apparent reason why not everyone turned into mermaids. It opens up the question whether getting swallowed and killing the whale from the inside wasn't her plan to begin with, seeing how nothing else about the "battle" was described in detail. While it looked insane to Ishmael, Ahab may have laughed because she believed she had succeeded by that point. She had her weapon and crew (ammunition) inside the belly of the beast and just needed to get to its most vulnerable spot, a spot that would have been almost impossible to penetrate to and hit from the outside, even a Color struggled with it until the heart got destroyed.

We also know that heavy artillery already exists because of what Outis said during Canto 1 during the initial Smoke War flashback cutscene where she mentions hearing the sounds of artillery fire. It makes sense that larger vessels such as those of the wings and huge whaling company vessels(assuming that they are rich enough to purchase them) would have artillery weaponry installed on the ships

  • @alexissavran4933

I had a theory that the crew didn't survive pallidification, but a combination of the golden bought itself and it resonating with Ishmael might revert it somewhat and create a "false past" within the whale/ a reason to why they are still around. As is difficult to say in this case how an EGO might manifest in this conditions, a follow-up might be that at least a part of Ahab (not necesarily the crew) had survived pallidification, or even better, survived trough Ishmael, making her "parasitic EGO" even more terrifying.

Rewatching this just before the 5.5 i realize something:
-Mermaid transformation is basicly Pecatulum transformation.
When someone reach a braking point and they loss their sense of self.
When Ishmael fel into the mmermaid she expresed an experience widly know as EGO DEATH.
A life changin moment where a person losses its sense of self, porpuse to live, or it personality WATSOEVER, and can be a reset point to some. Most of time trigger unnder intense estress and trauma, like seeing you batallion became mist by artillery fire, or your crew being devourer by a whale.
I think Dante's clock IS a Prostesis, thus ghe button, if it was an Ego thing kt will be dificult to modify.
Yet the Bow INSIDE is what i thing give dante its fire head and it rewinding powers.
The read mind thing is because Sinner are connected (CHAINED) TO DANTE.
This translate to gamplay in Resonance, where the feeling (sin) goes down the chain to BOOST another sinner. Also how Ego resources work.
Dante stores this emotion then flow then back to the sinner so they may use the Ego, after all acting on Egonreqjirez a set of especific emotional triggers.

People really get all basilating when ir comes to pseduo gay relationship for sailors and soldiers.
Is common, way more common than people think, after all have a bunch of people enclose in an area fro Months with the treath of death EACH day and sooner or later they will rely ob eachother for emotional support and physical one, sexuality after all is a part of the animal need of most humans, tothe point relationship may develop far deeper than just companionship or even regular romantics ones
This is why most armies have the policy "dont tell dont ask"
Except the romans, they made a whole thing where as long as you are the top is manly.
Which in part goes to the exposure on how "everything is about sex, except sex, sex is about power" but also it show how masculinity was seen as superior and inviolable.
