Ch 2: the forgotten middle child
I personally feel like Rodion is not actually done with her personal arc, and not every character is going to get their issues ironed out in a single chapter.
Still one of the best chapters
I agree that Outis probably wasn't an arbiter, but the similarity is most likely intentional. Aside from her, we've also got parallels between Demian/Sinclair and Enoch/Lisa, Shrenne and Hod, and even Netzach and K Corp/Samjo. Once is an accident, twice is a coincidence, and more than that is a pattern. PM is no stranger to building allegories to their own setting into the very same setting, mostly through abnos like the birds, One Sin, Bloodbath, or even the recent Wayward Passenger.
Question is where they intend to go with this.
Maybe it's the theme of cycles? Smaller cycles contained within the wheel of ever repeating miseries of the city, much like cogs inside a much larger machine.

When you think about it, it was objectively lucky that Dante fucked up with the slot machine. If he had been the one to go to the card game with the wish stickers he might gotten found out and gotten the Enoch treatment. The wish stickers were working as intended in a weird way.

It kinda reminds me of the index prescript,also i think what rodya says about the wish power being BS is untrue,she is expressing her views about and being prideful to the fact she doesnt need them,but to be a confirmed semi-singularity being a simple confidence boost wont make it reconizeble,unless there is more beneath the workings of wish power
It’s all about perspective haha. We all know it would have boiled down to a fight in some capacity regardless of who was there. But Dante getting smashed certainly would be an issue

That actually works with my theory that the sinners weren't chosen randomly and that the places we are going isn't a coincidence that has connection towards one of the sinners but rather it's what they planned.
My theory is that one of the goals of this trip is to have the sinners fully manifest a EGO.
My speculation is that their base ego is their partially manifested ego.
I think this is further supported by the quote each game has one that connects to the story

Well, the way vergillius and charon where recruited makes this unsuprising. Faust and a goon squad where litterally waiting for them to appear from a clearly manipulated situation where they'd have no choice but to comply

One theory I would like to point out, there is a possibility that the Demian that saves the gang from Kromer is not the real Demian but is instead Sinclair’s feelings about Demian as his savior manifested into a physical form by the Golden Bough similar to the G Corp rookie from Chapter 1 who stuck out in Gregor’s memory. This would explain why Demian vanishes as soon as the Golden Bough stops resonating and why he can understand Dante since he is part of Sinclair’s mind.
While this theory does sound interesting, I don't think it is the case. In the teaser trailer for Limbus, we got to see Demian with the scarf for a brief moment along with other unknown characters(alluding to their connection as some form of an organization, perhaps?) I don't think PM would've used this design for Demian in promo if they wanted to separate him in Kromer fight and him in the full story.

this theory is rubbish since sonya hinted the demian's arrival at the end of chapter 2 (the same time mark of cain appeared at his forehead same like demian's mark)
honestly its both plausible but weird, but most importantly it works incredibly well if its based off of the original book it came from where Demians actual existence and presence is questioned. In many times he does exist yet many times he comes in supernaturally and comes of as absurdity or unbelievable in the eyes of Sinclair or the reader. Many coincidences happen with many oddities and most often its surrounding Demian (i.e the note he got from the teacher, the dubious situation of his painting, his ability to read Sinclair and being mentioned "knowing him more than himself", etc). Though one way its debunked is by Sonya's existence, but its possible that Demian does exist, its just the one we saw in ch 3 is part of Sinclairs hallucinations from the bough.
I think it's not possible anymore, as Demian reappeared again out of nowhere, quite literally
Dante's notes explain why the Sinners are much weaker than they where in the past.
Spoilers.
It's explained that in Dante is the limiting factor. So level cap is a reflection of Dante's power and the golden bough. For each one we collect our level and uptie cap increase.
So they traded their power for basically immortality? Fun.

@@oofink467immortality for the power to be divided between the sinners so that the weaker people get buffed aka Sinclair,Faust,Yi sang and maybie some outhers minorly while the real monsters get reduced think of it like the average of their power but divided so wewker at the mement yes but once they climb back up they will be stronger as a collective would you rather have a end goal of 3 binah with 9 fins or 12 resurrectable gebura primes

In regards to Demian, i would guess that he can understand Dante as an exaggeration of Demian's self-proclaimed ability to "read minds" from his source material.
I really appreciate these videos, it's somewhat of a slog just to watch the entire story all over again if I missed something. Thank you and I'm looking forward to your future content.
Weird thought now that we have undeniable proof that the city has all sorts of cultures going on. How does that align with the statement Yan did in LoR regarding "no other languages existing"? It is very clear the characters in Limbus speak phrases in other languages (Gregor in German, Mersault in french, etc)
Don't know his quote off the top of my head but we already knew people had different languages and such with beings like the Sweepers existing. Perhaps he was being poetic? We are all one city speak the same city language kind of vibe?
@@DMrLeeds Hm, the exact quote had him being surprised that any other written language and mentioned something among the lines of "Do other languages still exist?". It could be metaphorical, but considering even Roland was surprised the Sweepers were speaking and not just mumbling junk, I assumed it meant something else.
Like, it could be possible the City has only one official language and words from other cultures act more as "regional slang". Whether that is just so PM can use more literary references or is a hint that the City is an amalgam of older nations is anyone's guess
@@andresarancio6696 I think Yan is surprised to see there is more languages than those that are common knowledge in the city. There is a chance too that Mersault and such speaking their respective languages are just translation nuance or in world just treated as one language.
I've heard that the phrases in other languages seem to be a localisation thing that only appear in the english translation.

dante uses they/them pronouns throughout the story within the english translation. i'm unsure about other translations, unfortunately.
