On god seeing Rodya get the development she deserves is so good, not to mention the fact that the Time Ripper as well basically paraphrases Crime and Punishment to her
I will contest "Hong Lu is an airhead"! I think you might be groaning seeing another one of these in comments, but I've never really found him to be naive or ignorant. (please tell me if you do) Case to consider, Hong Lu's probably one of the most educated sinners, and to high families, subjects of strategy, warfare and dimplomacy must be not unknown. In TKT it was very blatant, how gentle his inquisition pushed towards the correct path to follow, he's been like this always. When he speaks, it's ALWAYS one of three things: 1) either he deflects topic he would find uncomfortable to talk about, or changes the flow of conversation entirely, like a flow of tea from a pot; 2) discharges the tension in air (8:51!) and suggests another, more efficient topic to discuss, or 3) points towards a clue. He is also very reserved with it. Instead of "aha, i got this", he uses tone like "don't you think, that X could be true?", as to nudge everyone elsetowards the sollution of the mystery rather than steal spotlight. Through being seen as ignorant, he can initiate actions and not be appointed as the priority target. Through all the memes of how cruel his own family is, what i get from those snippets is rather typical case of fight for succession/influence, rather than resentment and hate. For one born in such conditions, that's the wisdom of avoiding painting a target on their back. Remember start of Canto 5? He points to LCCB badge being covered in blood, alarming others that the person they're talking to is not an ally; but through words that would not make him accuse the pirate or crime, without gaining any enmity or immediatelly selling the sinners as hostile. It also works with realization of how little we know of him. Preventing an argument between sinners or bending will of a crude pawn broker, he controls a lot of situations whilst showing none of his own cards. I will never accept him as airhead - rather a diligent tactician, using ways taught to him to tastefully inquire without intruding. His EGO and IDs tend to mostly share the traits of isolation and disconnection - inability to make bonds, craving for interaction, but lacking the feeling of "belonging" anywhere. Free yet with no place in "this" world. Outclassing peers so much there's no relationships made, no matter how talented or jolly he is; usually earning his spot through his grandma or just entering the position with set of skills already perfected. And so, he walks among mortals but has no place between them; observing, not existing. Especially, that despite six Cantos, he's the only sinner that did not make ANY relation with other sinners, with even Ryoshu and Meursault "fitting in" the group with their antics and recognized through them. One of old Limbus trailers shows a single frame of his carefree on what seems to be palace balcony, with sea of hungering, despairing hands reaching from below. A world he does not understand and he does not belong to.
I think this is a good interpretation for sure, and more a point where I think he intentionally makes himself look naive and leans into it to a degree. This idea's also based on his color being called 'Naive Cyan'. But he is absolutely more aware than that lets on.
Absolutely love this analysis, I myself was a fan of thinking that Hong Lu isn't actually an airhead but is just pretending to be, but what you wrote here really makes me like him even more.
@JannetFenix chillin at camping spot before going back home tomorrow. Now that I got the interest I want you to picture gregor just standing next to the grill/campfire, using his hand to move the meat, and bug arm to lightly cut it to test how done it is on inside :3
Remember Rodya's bio? "Her mood may be down a irregular intervals however there is nothing you can do in this state" seems like we're in one of those "irregular intervals" and ultimately Rodya herself needs to be the one to do something not Dante nor the other Sinners
I like how Rodya is made to face her own biases, especially since her belief that the Yurodiviye cannot do anything to help was what motivated her to attack the tax collector. It feels like her regrets are only piling higher.
I also like how in this Intervallo, Sonya became a somewhat Religious Figure and a Revolutionary. Which in the book, is something Rodya wanted to be. (Book Rodya compared himself to the likes of Napoleon and Muhammad).
I find it funny that her T-corp ID is a tax collector of LOW rank. Not only Stealing from the Poor but also HOPING for a promotion This show her "good Deed" had never had to do with her morality.
@@ericquiabazza2608 (Spoiler for Crime and Punishment): I mean rodya did throughout the story keep justifying his actions of killing a person for the greater good of everyone. So i think that limbus rodya is on the same sigma grindset of "If I do this, no matter how many bad things I do, it will bring good to alot of people like napoleon" Oh yeh, im also hoping to see another character from Crime and Punishment called Svidrigailov who is the "dark side of Rodion's character" whereas Sonya is the "light side"
Being special when you're a kid: "I wanna be a rockstar astronaut!" Being special when you're a teen: "I wanna be cool and unique." Being special as a young adult: "I wanna make a difference." Being special for the remainder of your lifespan: "If I was never special, I didn't matter." Got those vibes 100% from this chapter and it hurt, especially due to the relatability. God I still need to read Crime and Punishment it's literally the last of the sinner books I gotta do (well, and rereading the good translation of Story of the Stone.)
WALL OF TEXT WARNING !!!! I think the things I gleaned from Ryoshu this Intervallo were minor things that could be extrapolated and conspiracy theories on: namely, the fact that she had a line regarding her frustration that our local lil german boi wasn't here to translate for her. Now this goes two roads, the boring road of "omg! She is growing to care about the other sinners a bit!" (Which i do think is the case but only fucking minorly, like the smallest hint of Ryoshu care tm) But I actually think it belies a more hidden part of her character, that I will get to in a sec. She doesn't care if she is liked or disliked based on how she carries herself, and hasn’t really ever changed her speech schtick. So it struck me as odd that she gave a flip about not having Sinclair here to translate for her. Which when you brought up how she cares about individuality more than group relations; it clicked with me. She wants herself to be understood. Or actually, hmmm, lemme say this in a better way: she wants to feel SEEN. She doesn’t care about whether a person LIKES her or what she does or not, but she does care if it’s apparent what she does and what it means. IE, she cares about EXPRESSING herself and her individuality; and to an extent people recognizing that. Now, she doesn’t care about people recognizing it more than actually doing it (because she keeps up her speech tic even when Sinclair isn't there), but she still has value in that. This also explains why she looks down on the ring; because they are ‘artists’ who ‘express’ themselves (much like what she calls herself as well, hmmmm) but the art they make, isn't their own. From what we have seen, a lot of the Artists in the ring follow a school of thought, like pointillism, and thus aren’t fully expressing themselves but rather a group school of thought when it comes to art. This all in all, brings up an interesting thought; Ryoshu cares alot about expressing her own individuality but does it in a way that is ‘acceptable’ in the city, violence. All in the same, the idea of caring more about individuality over being in a group, is antithetical to like 96% of the city (the exceptions being some colored fixers, but even then they still have to oblige by the rules of being a fixer). Interestingly enough…the other person in the series we know who actively and proactively cares about individuality of people and expressing their own self the most, but unlike Ryoshu is more active in completing this and actively wanting others to do this...well that sure sounds a lot like Carmen to me… NOT SAYING THERE IS A CONNECTION! Just that it’s interesting topic to think about. SORRY ABOUT WRITING SO MUCH! RANT OVER!
I also like ranting so I'd like to share some of my thoughts here. Ryoshu's lines about people "presuming to call themselves family" and about how names matter made me think back to Hell's Chicken, where Ryoshu of all people was the one to call out Outis for insulting the owner's mother's name. It also made me think of her Chief Butler ID's uptie cutscene. Unlike her other IDs, she seems to genuinely care about the other members of her faction, despite putting up a rough exterior. The shaking when she confronts "the wolf" also stuck out. She spent enough time to have raised the Heathcliff of that world, which would mean she likely built stronger attachments than her other IDs, who seem to have joined their factions for themselves only and aren't interested in building relationships with the people around them. It's to the point where she's not thinking about her enjoyment of the fight when she decides to fight by herself, she's thinking about their survival. All this to say, I think that on top of identity and individuality, she also has very strong views on "family." I think she looks down on a lot of groups because they tend to call themselves "families" but fail to live up to her standards, whatever those may be. It also explains her disdain for the Middle, seeing as their finger's main gimmick is that they're a "family." Edit: And now her reaction to Cassetti saying it's a parent's responsibility to clean up after their child
"Am I not special, not special, not special?" After giving a lagged reply, it suddenly began tearing off all the cleaning gadgets from its body and crashing into walls. It rubbed its body on other objects while sparks flew off as if it was trying to attach things to it. It only stopped after a while. "Maybe I wanted to be special." It had already disappeared when the empty voice seemed to reach the ears Honestly i could see all around cleaner being her ego
fun fact, of the Season 1 Cantos (or all the cantos prev cantos really), Rodion is the only one who doesn't have an ID where she stays with the faction from her backstory (Gregor got a G Corp ID, Sinclair got an N Corp ID)
you are totally right. and even with new cantos, this also applies to them. -yi sang is dongbaek -ishmael is ahab -heathcliff is quite likely erlking only rodion had a measly LCCB ID. a 00 one at that
@@Garmond_Zaza_Fan i mean so do Gregor and Sinclair with Legerdemain and Impending Day (though Impending Day isn't linked to Sinclair's canto the whole thing about Sacrificing people to appease a higher being does fit his traumatic backstory)
You're doing the story so much justice with your analysis. Even Ryoshu, who didn't seem to have much going on, just having these little pieces pointed out is greatly improving my enjoyment of the story, which was already a lot. I do not say this lightly, I watch a lot of PM content, but these videos have been what I'm mostly looking forward to nowadays, and I'm hoping there will be plenty more in the future.
Honestly when you look at Ryoshu's own animations and how she fights, you really see that at least for now, shes never acutally drawn her sword Thus why everyone believes the theory that her "Sword" inside that scabbard is her Daughter's Ashes or her own daughter
I really like how this event had a minor point of contrast and mirroring in regards to Rodion and Outis having pride as their EGO affinity. Both wanted to be part of the "elite group" to feed into their pride, but Rodion was more self-assured in her pride and would have probably laughed off getting dismissed in Vergilius's decision, while Outis considers getting passed over in a draft based on individual skill to be devastating. Ironically, they were both put in positions that _wounded_ their pride more - Outis would consider direct insults (like the Time Ripper's taunting) as meaningless chatter, while Rodion would consider indirect insults (like getting passed over) as caused by others' flawed biases. Rodion's pride is absolute so long as nobody directly challenges her, while Outis's pride is absolute so long as nobody ignores her.
This event has given us some solid groundwork for our detectiv trio and knowing the book for both Hong Lu and Ryoshu ... damn there is so much to unpack here. Vergillius has chosen Sinners who follow their intuition most, in contrast to Dante who chose the most logical Sinners. Aside from Rodya who got to confront her past again, i looked more at the other two, because after Don its Hong Lu and then Ryoshu follows with their cantos. For Hung Lu, if you are at least somewhat familliar with chinese dynasties then you know what to expect: constant backstabbing until the quiet guy finally snaps. And have you also noticed that Ryoshu has never even once disobeyed Dantes orders? Yes she does complain, but she never even attemted to persuade him. Ryoshu is one of the least problematic Sinners, but if she is like her book version ... she probably burned the Rings art gallery ...
Sincerely want more of this 2 During crab intervalo we got that both cook togheter and respectec each other profuiosly Just a little more and we got a Ship! XD
The next w corp mini story should have some connections to the next canto but, the Kim mini story barely have any Heath's canto, so the next mini might goes for Gregor instead because it's W corp, where everyone can turn into monsters, just like Gregor....
It's also important to note that the Yurodivye are *spreading* but not necessarily actually DOING anything so far. Their passivity and general ineffectual nature hasn't really changed, they've just got more people signing up under their cultic banner and doing some minor self-defeating rabble-rousing. Rodya is being forced to confront a lot of questions about her past and her decisions, but it seems so far that in the long run she's still going to be correct in having left.
That is definitely possible. I'm inclined to believe the hype right now just because of Hubert's own faith in them, as well as the way they carry themselves. But it's not out of the question that they're all show and no substance. Guess that's all the more reason to want more
I doubt that’s the direction they’re doing for with the Yurodivye. The impressions the Intervallo and uptie stories have given is more that they’re just a bunch of disparate groups with different motivations who’ve all united under Sonya’s banner. There’s no way they’re not going to be a powerful force once Sonya urges them into a frenzy, the real issue is that each individual’s personal greed will likely cause them to act in not so noble ways, with Sonya accepting it all as a necessary evil (just like how he allowed Rodya to kill the moneylender without trying to stop her, knowing the slaughter that would ensue).
First of all, Yurodivye do engage in various activities, such as one we saw in this Intervallo. Yurodivye in district 20 also help people with detective work. In addition to that, if Yurodivie are anything like their historical counterpart, then they are supposed to be relatively passive; only engaging in agitation and study of theory, similarly to how it was shown during Rodion's Canto. Revolutionary organizations like this one take a while to come out specifically due to how much theory they need to learn, as well as due to the fact, that situation to carry out the revolution might be inappropriate. Like when Che Gevara tried to organize an uprising in Bolivia only to find out that people were not actually ready to rebel (although there were multiple reasons including swift arrival of american rangers).
An important thing to touch on, in the book, it is through Sonya that Rodion learns to possess a conscious and a set of morals to carry themself with through their navigation of the world. Likewise, it is through Sonya that Rodion finds her disillusion with the world and society become formed. However, something that needs to be touched on, that you didn’t touch on your first video. Rodion asks “You knew that I’d get fed up and kill her, didn’t you?” Sonya says nothing, his smirk is gone, his promises too. And that’s where Rodion gathers the strength to dismiss him. Proof, proof that even he, the high and mighty who had picked and gouged her confidence with just a single speech, is no different in his exploitation of others.
The main thing of backstory Rodion and Sonya is that their flaws are perfectly mirrored. Sonya dreams and works towards a great future for all, leaving the smaller Tragedies and Pains that happen around him as something less relevant. Rodion's killing was something he accepted as something that won't stop the great plan. But Rodion focused exclusivly on the things before herself, not carring about the longterm goals. In Canto 2 and Timekilling Time it is evident that Sonya has started to correct the flaw. While moving slow, the Yurodiviye is moving. Rodion's aftermath might be her now starting to look to a more distant future too.
Not only "may not affect" but sometime may be productive. Maintaining and peomoting a revilutionary organisation is the HARDEST thing ever. From keeping underground activities covert, to managing operations, to even dealing with internal struggles and traitora/spyes. But most of all the fire of revolution must be kep ablaze, and to that end having some member go and breck havock on their own is good and bad, like with recentment, what matter is how is chaneled.
The thing is, I’m pretty sure that the initial cantos *will* have follow ups. Gregor, Rodya, and Sinclair will likely have reprise cantos after the initial circut is done. Because the Divine Comedy is certainly more than just the Inferno, and canto 12 will likely not be the end of Limbus’ story in turn.
I have a bit of a theory. Hermann’s group may be a bigger focus in Purgatorio… and since Hermann herself seems to be their leader, I have reason to believe Gregor may be the one who will finish off this second batch of cantos. I can already imagine what kind of a climatic moment our favorite Bug Guy will have…
Im honestly just impressed that she hasn’t started hearing the voice of the cities number 1 self love enthusiast. The specific wording from Hell’s Chicken about Distortions, where one is at significant risk when an unfailing belief one has about life breaks… seems like its exactly whats happening Rodioh. I think the only differing take was how I read her asking about other sinner’s interests. It felt like to me and from how Dante was reacting that it was closer to her to try and avoid confronting the problem. Its why Dante felt the need to go ask Vergi where they were heading next to try and give her something to focus on long term…. only for the news about it being a warp train sending everyone silent. There’s one other thing of note, Ive been wondering if she’s feeling something similar to how Yi Sang did (they do have the same sin weaknesses) but in the opposite way. Most other Rodioh IDs have being all happy and accomplished, essentially validating the belief to herself that she is someone special because look at all of these other versions of her where. And then there is T corp collector Rodioh, the opposite of all of that. Instead of seeing another version of her all accomplished she sees herself turned into the miserly tax collector that ruined her life. I don’t think it will actually be a factor in the story, but just envisioning what her reaction to seeing that ID while she is this down makes me want to hug her
21:22 Honestly, I don't think Ishmael's story is completely finished. There's still one thing left hanging and that's Ishmael's actions. She acted recklessly trying to get to Ahab and she was putting her goal of killing her above everything and everyone else. She killed a bunch of pirates, wounded Smee and subsecuently pissed the Middle off. At the time she didn't care, because the only thing she wanted was to kill Ahab, but now she'll have to face the consequences of her actions. As Ricardo said as his parting words: "The Middle always repays its debts. In whichever form..."
Concidering we got Hook name drop but not shown may mean we get him later. Who knows when tho But the lake is such a big are and concept that just 1 canto wont be enoughfor it
That and Ishmael hates us, as Dante, now. I don’t think we’re going to prove to Ishmael that we are competent as a strategist, but more as “I’m a person and I’m trying to do my best here”.
At first I thought the pattern of Intervallo's would be like having the first one be less serious and a bit more comedic while having the second one take itself more seriously (while also possibly featuring returning character from LoR). Intervallo 4-1 basically took that formula and threw it into a dumpster with an incinerator right below it.
Honestly its stuff like this and a lot of the recent intervallos, that makes me hope that once Project Moon gets to a certain point with Limbus Company, they will go back and add voice acting to the cantos that they left without the voice actors I know they are mainly focusing on them for the main cantos and story chapters as a way to probably be careful with their budget (Especially as they grow the game) But i do still think a lot of the intervallos could be made even more amazing if we could hear some of the characters talk too I feel Rodya's VA would kill it with the scenes this chapter
TKT was so good. Letting us see a lot more of 3 of the least explored sinners is great. Only thing I could really complain about is maybe Dante not really doing anything? Like after Canto 6 with them being so vital in keeping Heath on track, I assumed them only being with 3 sinners would mean they could work/push them more than they could with all 12, when in reality they mostly sat in the backseat, esp with the joke at the beginning of them zoning out to figure out which sinners to choose. Honestly though that's really minor, and I love seeing Rodya break down while HL and Ryoshu reveal more of themselves.
I wasnt big on ryoshu at the begining as the sadistic bitch Yet, must say she has grown onme, or more like i respect her now The "cloth are husk" and "several thing call themselves family" are big statements that speak of her spichy And her obsession with the number 4 is reinforce. Fun fact, her "4 screws" seems to hsd been s meme reference of a skit of the american invation of kore where a Union captain negotitate with a American sargent for 4 dollar pay.
Gonna COUNTER BIG on something: I dont belive HongLu lets himself stab for "Curiosity" That was a "Suicide" Hong lu underestood that the moment he will open his eyes again 1000 hours would have transpire Basicly a tome trip to 1000 hours to the future. Why? The possibility of scaping his family. Is clear with how he talk about his family and is known of Royalty in almost every culture that Hong Lu respect them, but does not concider their costumes or decisions favourably. Remember "Those who really want to die, do so in a whimper, those screaming want to live more than anyone" Netzach Lobotomy corp. And this frace ALSO applies to Rodya, who is literally as the narrative present it. She DOESN'T do anything for being "Correct" she DOES it for the "Social Reward" Fame, influence and prestige, is not just an Ego thing, is Ego fed by EXTERNAL factors. Ego fed by internal factors are Faust and Meurasault. Heck, look at her new ID she is a FUCKING TAX COLLECTOR, one who ALSO STEALS FROM THE POOR, Heck she HOPES to Get a PROMOTION SOON. Remember who she killed and why.... Finally, the Yurofivye, Sonia is even more craftier than people think, the. Mask is like the ones thugs use, branding the group as just another low sindicate like the axe/chain gang. The fact T-corp one use all worker clothing and weapones reinforce it. But the organisation have bases, radio stations and even underground markets where people barter withouth using time because as Ego events expose ANY AND ALL TIME TRANSACTIONS ARE TAX, EVEN CHARITIES. WHO THE FUCK TAX A CHARITY!? THE BRITISH! Heck, they someone also can track all transaction with precision. (As is why the time reaper was a menace, the ripper TOOK TIME, Steal it, BUT Withouth living a trail, base in his mechanics he either takes it abnormaly, so is not traced, OR he kills it and generates more from himself from nothing, both are viable)
one thing i kept pondering over since playing the game (3rd week but i dont play as much and i was sick today) was how each character so far paralleled with their literary counterpart, specifically lcb rodion to crime and punishment rodion (and to an extent, rodion and sonya's relationship in lcb and c&p). it's fun to see how they put a twist in these characters ALL THE WHILE they still manage to retain their essence. c&p rodion was the 'get tf out of my house and leave me alone' type of guy, and lcb rodion was a bit more on the opposite side of the spectrun- more outgoing. yet they were still both isolated to their views and caused damage because of that, just in their own manner. crime and punishment was the only book i finished before i discovered lcb (ig the wings too but that was when i started getting into it- not to mention i am unfortunately not in canto 4 yet so i cant make out a good parallel) and thats why despite canto 2 not exactly serving enough of my girl, it still held such a good weight personally
i was also going balls over the little references like a bunch of the enemies wielding axes and the whole gambling thing related to dostoevsky having a gambling addiction in the past (this is an unreasonable stretch but please just understand how much c&p had me on a chokehold last year BUT how the dungeon part was freezing cold, perhaps a nod to siberia? perhaps im just waffling unreasonably now)
My prediction with Don Quixote it is that due to her appearing in the article photo at the end of the intervalo, her family/caretakers will tru to retrieve her and that will be opening to her canto. On the source book it is something that happened, news about the "adventures" of Don Quijote led to his family locating and convincing him to go back (With the help of a doctor dressed as a rival knight an a duel...a second duel because that doctor lost the previous one due to bad luck and had to change the name of his knight..) I cannot wait to see the Spanish inspired district of The City
Nah, gregor is more then that, more then rodion ever got and still has. To me, her lack of that self-awareness comes from nowhere; why would it just..leave? That dosen't make sense. It feels like she has a whole new arc, rather then contiuning what Canto 2 started.
Honestly i feel that Rodya will not be central to Dons Canto but i hope she becomes almost like a big sister or emotional bastion for her during the canto while Dons trauma helps Rodya grow as well. Rodyas theme of not being able to change, staying still while someone or something (like the world aroudn them) goes on without them as well as getting others killed in a plan she rushed herself kinda mirror my theorys of Don as i feel Don definitely fucked up and got a office or squad killed which is why her EGO is called Sangre de Sancho its the literal blood of Sancho which in her story was her friend who tried to keep her out of trouble, it also explains why she acted genuinly so recklessly in the begining chapters. Both Rody and Don are wearing masks and both are sorta stuck in the past and now that Rodya had her views shattered its Donnys turn for that and i really hope they can help eachother get through this like what heahcliff did with Ishmael.
In my opinion, if Rodya Rosepanner id is a Rodya whos cheerful but still amplified her self centered and lay back personality. Then T corp Rodya is a much more serious id. T corp Rodya stated in her uptie 3 that she doesnt care why or who the person she dealing with. She does have some sympathy for the poor but its clearly that she would kick and punch anything if she can. Its a trend of her at this point. She might be cheerful but just like Sonya said, everything she does is not for other people but for herself. Which fit the character that she represent in "crime and punishment". A person who want to become the "great man" with no sympathy and only doing what is practical but in truth that is impossible.
I’m still waiting for Rodya to say the full line from the book: “Тварь ли я дрожащая или право имею” (Am I a trembling creature or do I have the right).
So as a Ryoshu fan, and since you asked for thoughts on it I think that a large part of her character as portrayed here is actually something that is supposed to be contrary to the 5 (Well currently more like 4) fingers. Each of them has their own ideas about what is important and their organization being around, with the Thumb having Hierarchy, the Index having the Prescripts (Trends in society), Middle has their own sense of Justice, and the Ring has Beauty and Appearence. To quickly try and head a counter point off at the pass, yes she is very much a fan of art she doesn't actually treat art the same way that the Middle does. She uses her 'Art' as a way to express different ideas, her idea of beauty, or some sort of contrarian to the norms whereas the Middle very much is more focused on creating something that is beautiful but also culturally acceptable and fits in with what they are looking for, where as she tries to create art that is in some way communicating something of the self or something similar. For the thumb she serves as a counter point to their ideas of hierarchy and how people are catagorizing through treating others similarily regardless of status (There are some exceptions to this), and rejecting the idea of people's status being depended on how they are in relation to the others. The Index is something that can fairly easily be read as an organization that's about following cultural trends and ideas through the prescripts and fitting into those, and Ryoshu goes against what those represent through how she tends to march by the beat of her own drum and rejecting others ideas of how she could act. The scene in Canto II where she enters without being dressed up is one of the more well known examples of this, but she has some flashes of it as well in other areas. For the middle, this can seem like it fits but I think it's important to note that the violence that she inflicts and any wrongs that have been committed on her are rarely connected, rather she inflicts the violence because she wants to inflict it not in retaliation for something. Though there is the scene at the beginning with her killing sinclair that does show something more 'middle esque' Finally, since at the time of writing we don't actually really know what the Pinky is about I think that it to some degree is a combination of ideas of individuality and that the person doesn't matter. Which, while it is kind of contradictory it might be that their some sort of group that sees individuals as nothing more then what they are able to accomplish and earn, and everything else about them can be stripped away. Her ideas of family as well as someone's name and who they are being important then would serve as a way to go against the pinky if this were the case. And since it's emphasized and has been more then a few times by now I think some sort of mixture of those ideals is something that is going to be present with the Pinkie when they do finally appear, likely in her Canto as a major antagonist.
People seem to ignore Liu Hong Lu's uptie story. Hong Lu's eye glow is 100% an important piece of lore. I'd be willing to bet that his cyan eye is the adapted version of the piece of jade in Book Lu's mouth that he was born with.
I'm actually really excited for Murder on the WARP Train, especially with Dante's end remark upon hearing it. Since we only knew about the WARP Trains via the IDs, we might even see some use of that knowledge in the Intervallo and we can even get some Don lore before he Canto like Ishmael and Heathcliff
Ryoshu, at least, got to show that she is aware of how her acronyms can be difficult, and that she's more attached to Sinclair than she might let on, even if it's just for translation
I was always a Ryoshu fan since the start because she has some of my favourite lines in the whole game, but she only became my favourite sinner after i read through Maid Ryo's Uptie Story which showed that she's my favourite character archetype as well: the rough on the outside but actually cares deeply kind. She barks orders at the other Butlers and reprimands them for imperfections but only because she knows what they'll be up against, and once she actually sees [REDACTED] she tells everyone else to run and faces them on her own to keep them safe, and even when she does so she maintains her rough veneer to disguise her kindness. THAT'S why Ryo is my favourite, she's rough and even rude on the outside, but once you actually get to know and get close to her, she'll face actual monsters on her own to keep you and everyone else she cares for safe. And because of that if anyone ever gets a Red Mist ID it'll be her in my opinion. Also once again this video is a fantastic character breakdown, excellent work.
Gregor already had his development before Canto 1 started. He got over his past and his abandonment. Sincalir, while not fully healed, is getting over his trauma bit by bit. Yi Sang reclaimed his wings and no longer lives just to live. Ishmael grew past her obsession. Heathcliff was able to say "I love you" to Cathy and received them in kind. Rodya didn't change. She sees everyone else developing while her Canto ended in failure. Sure they got the Bough, but even that was only because Sonya let them without a fight. Rodion is a failure through and through, and is too prideful to make change. She puts on a good face, even fooled herself, but her facade is easily crumpled. I can easily see Rodion betraying Limbus Company to side with Hermann who'd give her her wildest fantasies, just like Ahab. She wants to be a hero, but lacks the character to be honest with herself and start building a new foundation. This Intervallo made me realize Rodion sucks. She's my least favorite Sinner by far.
For some reason, I see Hong Lu as a psychopath who’s good at disguising his genius under a façade of stupidity. But that’s probably just Tingtang Hong Lu ngl.
while she got nothing in terms of gameplay for the event the story really improved for my favorite sinner .im hoping she gets a QOH ego suit id at least since imo her story matches with hers a lot when you analize it
Good video dude but one thing I want to talk about was the part that hong lu is never mad or annoyed I know using the limbus company tgs teaser is kind of bad thing ever since heathcliff canto but in the limbus company tgs teaser there's a image of Hong lu being annoyed by someone and he's not smiling or anything, he just looks mad so yeah Your Theory about Hong Lu is good but in my opinion, I feel as if Hong Lu been acting this whole time ever since we meet him Like I'm not saying Hong Lu using the sinners as proof to his family that he's useful and not to kill him but Yeah But like i say this is just a Theory and it's not like your going to read all of this lol
There's this one image of ryoshu with this red thread around her and it looks so cool it's a shame that we can't see any of that in the game (also old Cathy looked really awesome, definitely better than the cathy we had now)
This story hit so well, now I gotta be harsher with the rest of PM.
Actually just a great take
On god seeing Rodya get the development she deserves is so good, not to mention the fact that the Time Ripper as well basically paraphrases Crime and Punishment to her
I will contest "Hong Lu is an airhead"! I think you might be groaning seeing another one of these in comments, but I've never really found him to be naive or ignorant. (please tell me if you do)
Case to consider, Hong Lu's probably one of the most educated sinners, and to high families, subjects of strategy, warfare and dimplomacy must be not unknown.
Greatest theory on Hong lu I seen by far!
Also hi jannet :D
@@SiriusFrostalite hello! ^^
Not only Stealing from the Poor but also HOPING for a promotion
This show her "good Deed" had never had to do with her morality.
@@ericquiabazza2608 (Spoiler for Crime and Punishment): I mean rodya did throughout the story keep justifying his actions of killing a person for the greater good of everyone. So i think that limbus rodya is on the same sigma grindset of "If I do this, no matter how many bad things I do, it will bring good to alot of people like napoleon"
Oh yeh, im also hoping to see another character from Crime and Punishment called Svidrigailov who is the "dark side of Rodion's character" whereas Sonya is the "light side"
Being special when you're a kid: "I wanna be a rockstar astronaut!"
Being special when you're a teen: "I wanna be cool and unique."
Being special as a young adult: "I wanna make a difference."
Being special for the remainder of your lifespan: "If I was never special, I didn't matter."
Got those vibes 100% from this chapter and it hurt, especially due to the relatability.
She is growing to care about the other sinners a bit!" (Which i do think is the case but only fucking minorly, like the smallest hint of Ryoshu care tm)
But I actually think it belies a more hidden part of her character, that I will get to in a sec.
It also explains her disdain for the Middle, seeing as their finger's main gimmick is that they're a "family."
Edit: And now her reaction to Cassetti saying it's a parent's responsibility to clean up after their child
"Am I not special, not special, not special?"
After giving a lagged reply, it suddenly began tearing off all the cleaning gadgets from its body and crashing into walls.
It rubbed its body on other objects while sparks flew off as if it was trying to attach things to it.
It only stopped after a while.
"Maybe I wanted to be special."
It had already disappeared when the empty voice seemed to reach the ears
Honestly i could see all around cleaner being her ego
All around helper rodion ego when
fun fact, of the Season 1 Cantos (or all the cantos prev cantos really), Rodion is the only one who doesn't have an ID where she stays with the faction from her backstory (Gregor got a G Corp ID, Sinclair got an N Corp ID)
I would say for now tho the story of t corp rodion was very interesting with alot of out of character actions
you are totally right. and even with new cantos, this also applies to them.
-yi sang is dongbaek
-ishmael is ahab
-heathcliff is quite likely erlking
only rodion had a measly LCCB ID. a 00 one at that
she has a trauma E.G.O, being rime shank
Ryoshu saying "its annoying not having that kid around" was very important to me
Honestly when you look at Ryoshu's own animations and how she fights, you really see that at least for now, shes never acutally drawn her sword
Thus why everyone believes the theory that her "Sword" inside that scabbard is her Daughter's Ashes or her own daughter
@@quinnholloway5400 well, that's the reason she hugged it so closely.
I can't believe we had "How It Feels To Rodya" part 2, before "How It Feels To Sinclair".
Timekilling Time made me realize we barely know anything about ryoshu and meursault. can't wait for her canto ngl
ryoshu is the main character of a beat em up game, meursault is trying to looksmax in peace
Sincerely want more of this 2
During crab intervalo we got that both cook togheter and respectec each other profuiosly
Just a little more and we got a Ship!
I can already imagine what kind of a climatic moment our favorite Bug Guy will have…
I feel so freyed right now, but man i love rodya development
Calling it, Hong Lu's Canto will be The Understanding or The Experiencing.
I love how Frey's previous analysis on Rodya got it right on the money.
I hope to see more of it in the future bud.
I don’t think it will actually be a factor in the story, but just envisioning what her reaction to seeing that ID while she is this down makes me want to hug her
more rodya character moments i feel so bad for her but its so awesome to see

Who knows when tho
But the lake is such a big are and concept that just 1 canto wont be enoughfor it
That and Ishmael hates us, as Dante, now.
Honestly its stuff like this and a lot of the recent intervallos, that makes me hope that once Project Moon gets to a certain point with Limbus Company, they will go back and add voice acting to the cantos that they left without the voice actors
I know they are mainly focusing on them for the main cantos and story chapters as a way to probably be careful with their budget (Especially as they grow the game)
But i do still think a lot of the intervallos could be made even more amazing if we could hear some of the characters talk too
I feel Rodya's VA would kill it with the scenes this chapter
TKT was so good. Letting us see a lot more of 3 of the least explored sinners is great. Only thing I could really complain about is maybe Dante not really doing anything? Like after Canto 6 with them being so vital in keeping Heath on track, I assumed them only being with 3 sinners would mean they could work/push them more than they could with all 12, when in reality they mostly sat in the backseat, esp with the joke at the beginning of them zoning out to figure out which sinners to choose. Honestly though that's really minor, and I love seeing Rodya break down while HL and Ryoshu reveal more of themselves.
I wasnt big on ryoshu at the begining as the sadistic bitch
Yet, must say she has grown onme, or more like i respect her now
The "cloth are husk" and "several thing call themselves family" are big statements that speak of her spichy
And her obsession with the number 4 is reinforce.
Fun fact, her "4 screws" seems to hsd been s meme reference of a skit of the american invation of kore where a Union captain negotitate with a American sargent for 4 dollar pay.
Gonna COUNTER BIG on something:
I dont belive HongLu lets himself stab for "Curiosity"
That was a "Suicide"
Hong lu underestood that the moment he will open his eyes again 1000 hours would have transpire
Basicly a tome trip to 1000 hours to the future.
She DOESN'T do anything for being "Correct" she DOES it for the "Social Reward"
Fame, influence and prestige, is not just an Ego thing, is Ego fed by EXTERNAL factors.
On the source book it is something that happened, news about the "adventures" of Don Quijote led to his family locating and convincing him to go back (With the help of a doctor dressed as a rival knight an a duel...a second duel because that doctor lost the previous one due to bad luck and had to change the name of his knight..)
I cannot wait to see the Spanish inspired district of The City
"Yall ever noticed that hong lu never stops smiling" actually there is a circumstance whrere he stops smiling
On his base ego aet
I love how meursault, just goes up to what’s essentially a soul sucker zero questions asked
You didn’t disrespected my buddy gregor right here..
God I hope we learn much more o him intead of calling him bug guy with ptsd
Don't worry, His mom is the main Villain of this game so He will definitely have his own time to shine
Though there is the scene at the beginning with her killing sinclair that does show something more 'middle esque'
Finally, since at the time of writing we don't actually really know what the Pinky is about I think that it to some degree is a combination of ideas of individuality and that the person doesn't matter.
20:33 Seeing W Corp and anything to do with transport scares me... IFYKYK.
a whole anime episode worth of analysis? LETS GOOOOOOO
20:25 Little did we know, the “mask” was much more terrifying than that.
*Getting beaten by a good team has been burned into my mind*
People seem to ignore Liu Hong Lu's uptie story.
Hong Lu's eye glow is 100% an important piece of lore. I'd be willing to bet that his cyan eye is the adapted version of the piece of jade in Book Lu's mouth that he was born with.
I'm actually really excited for Murder on the WARP Train, especially with Dante's end remark upon hearing it. Since we only knew about the WARP Trains via the IDs, we might even see some use of that knowledge in the Intervallo and we can even get some Don lore before he Canto like Ishmael and Heathcliff
never stole someone Jordans...
Ryoshu, at least, got to show that she is aware of how her acronyms can be difficult, and that she's more attached to Sinclair than she might let on, even if it's just for translation
I find it so funny that rodya had more development in an event intervallo than her own canto
Now let's see who badly everyone's gonna lose it on the warp train
4:03 Gregor and Sinclair don't seem to be in the right place
Kaiji mention. Thank you, Frey
A bud of mine Gave this side story so much praise, especially loved the dialog.
Hell yeah more Rodya!!!!!! Honestly this was such a good intervalo
see Rodya you don't event specific ID just to get character dev- oh wow that was wow like a punch in the gut for her wow!
I can`t wait for the Hong Lu chapter. I am very curious to see how they make him snap.
For Ryoshu fans.
We might not have much important thigns from Ryoshu in the event. But at least we got a BRAND NEW BEAUTIFUL LOOKING EGO Till now.
So excited for the Gregor intervallo now.
Tfw no how it feels to Heathcliff
I dont think warp train ended with rodya development..
Thanks for making this video, i skip all the story because i want to finish 6.5 in 2 days. 🙏🏿🙏🏿😔😔
For some reason, I see Hong Lu as a psychopath who’s good at disguising his genius under a façade of stupidity.
But that’s probably just Tingtang Hong Lu ngl.
Frey is making vids so much faster, this is such epic timing
Rodya is going to distort hopefully.
"If Canto 2 is so good why is there no Canto 2 2?"
Canto 2 2:
Can't wait for canto 2 3
Still love the unofficial official Limbus Frey sprites
Oh boy I can't wait for the Don Quixote canto
two more days
while she got nothing in terms of gameplay for the event the story really improved for my favorite sinner .im hoping she gets a QOH ego suit id at least since imo her story matches with hers a lot when you analize it
You have to trust me on ryoshu man trust me please she’s gonna have such a good canto
4:02 what's the title of the rating? because the catégories are unclear to me.
It's based on how much I feel like I can resonate with the character and enjoy their story.
Rodya got hers in tkt so what if greg gets some development in warp. It does deal with flesh and body horror

Good video dude but one thing I want to talk about was the part that hong lu is never mad or annoyed
I know using the limbus company tgs teaser is kind of bad thing ever since heathcliff canto but in the limbus company tgs teaser there's a image of Hong lu being annoyed by someone and he's not smiling or anything, he just looks mad so yeah
Your Theory about Hong Lu is good but in my opinion, I feel as if Hong Lu been acting this whole time ever since we meet him
Like I'm not saying Hong Lu using the sinners as proof to his family that he's useful and not to kill him but Yeah
But like i say this is just a Theory and it's not like your going to read all of this lol
Damn, called out. But that's good to know about the teaser!
There's this one image of ryoshu with this red thread around her and it looks so cool it's a shame that we can't see any of that in the game (also old Cathy looked really awesome, definitely better than the cathy we had now)
Arguably Rodion is currently -1 to Sonya's 1, which probably makes the score thing even worse
Hi frey, great vid
7:27 ryoshu is a masochist? I thought she's a sadist?
@@ambrrt5895 They're not exclusive. She just appreciates violence :)
@@FreyCheqama Better, Ryoshu is a sadomasochist. Same thing with Kromer.
How it feels to Sinclair when?
You make limbus sound like 5 year olds first edgy game
I started to love ryoshu now that she doesn't cry but just straight up wants to brutally kill everyone
Make a meursault video
