  • Not only was Elvis famous for his music career, but he also had a love for some seriously trashy food. This sandwich is a perfect example and one that although completely calorific, you must give a go if only for kitschiness alone. Check out the recipe: www.donalskehan.com/recipes/th...

Tpelzy for it to be truly amarican you need 3 burger pattys and 1 order of large fries and a GIANT Coca-Cola.

Bacon originated from Europe. Most European countries make all desserts like pies and pastries (strudel) with apples so apple pie isn't unique to America either.

My grandmother had a cardio-toxic diet and ate bacon often and saved the fat in a container in the fridge to spread on rye bread. She lived to 96.

Don't really know about this recipe, like you said - gotta try it to know for sure! Anyway, I really feel like I have to give some credit to the people behind the scenes - I love the new studio and especially the lighting. You really stand out from the background, the green from outside the window compliments the warm interior. The kitchen looks so domestic and beautiful, I really like it.
And Donal - great video, as always. Been following and cooking your recipes for quite some time now and was never disappointed with the results. Keep up the amazing work!

I think it could work with a sandwich maker, too. Do you guys in Ireland/in the UK/in the US know these things? They actually consist of two "shells" between which you can roast the bread without adding more fat to them. In Germany, "Toast Hawaii" is quite popular: it's two slices of bread with cheese, ham and a slice of pineapple.

+Donal Skehan can't you just toast the bread and then add the other ingredients ?

Elvis liked the bacon well done and crispy and he liked the bread toasted first before putting on the peanut butter, and he preferred the crunchy peanut butter. He also liked to have melted butter added to the bacon fat before frying the sandwich.
