- Have you ever tried to smoke a fish (ahi tuna, salmon etc.) with no luck on the Traeger? The grilling and smoking crowd often overlooks fish for a few reasons. Good quality fish costs as much as a NY Strip, It sticks to the grill and THEY HAVE NEVER DONE IT RIGHT! I show you how to brine, cook and enjoy a tasty Ahi Tuna Steak that will melt in your mouth. This Tuna is smoked as well, so it has a nice crust on the outside and falls apart from juiciness.

Followed you recipe tonight. First time smoking fish on my smoker and it was fantastic. Nice and simple and tastes great. Thanks!
Awesome.
Nice work!
Wow that looked good definitely going to try this
Nice video thanks for sharing! Low and slow I'm trying this tonight!
Let me know how it turns out for you
That looks amazing. Smoked salmon is my favorite. Especially wild Sockeye. Cheers! Chris.
It disappears quick around here!😮
Turned out really good!!
I usually do Ahi Tuna in my grill skillet over high heat, 1 1/2 minutes per side. Pink in the center of Ahi Tuna is fine. 🤓
I caught 4 40lb bluefin tuna this weekend. Looking for different ways to cook this style meat. I made this last night on my Traeger, the family thought is was unbelievable. Thank you.
wow! It must be nice to be able to catch such large fish!
Awesome video trying that routine tonight! Would love if you would do a seared version while still incorporating the traeger! Thanks
Great idea!
good luck jc. I'll put seared on the list of to do videos.
Just caught some blue fin tuna and will smoke some tonight.
What kind of wood were you using?
What temp was it at ? I don’t have a Traeger I have different pellet grill.
I didn’t know you can cook on smoke setting
I just caught 3 yellowfin tuna from san diego. Around 20 lbs each.
Traeger Time! Nice catch!
I found three yellowfin pieces in my subzero and I don't know where they came from. What I do know is I'm following your lead and cooking them up on my Traeger tomorrow! Nicely done on the video.
Enjoy!
🤙🏼
Did you add the honey and pepper to one side or both sides? I only saw you do it to one. I do not want to over season it.
just one side. I don't ever flip on the Traeger.
Wouldnt you go by temp instead of cutting into it on the grill?
With tuna I go by texture instead of temp. You can actually eat it raw if you wanted, but it can get quickly dried out if you aren't careful
What video app do you use or do you record from you tube directly?? Wanting to have my culinary class do a few videos and just wondered
i use filmora
Thanks is it easy to use and edit
I don't have anything else to compare it to, but i like it. I have used it for about a year and a half and i can edit very quickly and i find new effects and things every time i use it.
Thanks I certainly need something used friendly
User friendly
I'm guessing you should stop at 30 min...I find its too dry at 4o min.
When you say 225 for 20/40 minutes etc, are you including the time it took the grill to heat up from smoking to 225?
Bryan Farris yes
What type of pellets did you use?
I used a blend for fish
That seemed like a lot of Pepper!! Was is too strong?
Nope. Not at all!
Pepper and smoke are best friends
Over cooked
it's all about personal preference i suppose
