    • @CZghost
      @CZghost 10 місяців тому +6

      Now there is an ethical question: does the kid know enough ethics to not reveal the identity to the public? If I ever recognized an anonymous youtuber in public, you'd be sure I'll keep the secret to my grave. Maybe tell my family, but I would never even ask for a photo or anything, knowing how much the person cares for privacy. Let's be honest, Etho isn't the only camera-shy person on UA-cam. Not even remotely. Not even among Hermits. Think Xisuma, think ZombieCleo. Those people never show their face or tell you their real name. There are many here in Czechia as well, one in particular, which I am 100% sure I would recognize in public if I heard him couple meters away from me, for example in public transport.
      That being said, don't be a creep. Don't specifically seek out any opportunity to recognize a famour youtuber that conceals their true identity to the public. If it happens, it happens, but don't specifically seek them out. It's definitely a stalkish behaviour and lemme tell you, it doesn't leave any good impression of you. And if it does happen randomly, respect their privacy. You may introduce yourself, tell them you recognized them by their voice, but don't make a scene, don't ask for a photo or anything, and definitely don't snap their picture from a distance in secret, even if it would be only for you and nobody else. There is a reason why they keep their identity a secret. Their own private reason. Don't force your way in. You may become friends, but don't force your way in.

    Young children have a high auditory memory. This is why they can learn languages quickly. It makes sense the one person who has recognized him is a young child. Most adults if they met etho, would likely either not pick up on it, or dismiss the sense of familiarity.

    • @veil6666
      @veil6666 2 роки тому +26

      I'm just curious what is your source for this claim? I could not find any results after googling simple questions such as "do children remember sounds better than adults?". The closest results I can find is that they memorize vocabulary lists better than adults, but this could have to do more with memorization itself.

    • @radpugguy
      @radpugguy 2 роки тому +35

      @@veil6666 Yeah I had similar doubts about this claim, he seems to just be talking out his ass. There's a difference between recognizing sounds and somebody's particular cadence anyways.

    • @swordierre9341
      @swordierre9341 2 роки тому +61

      @@veil6666 I basically read a bunch of articles on "perfect pitch" a phenomenon where children that learn music at an early age are able to classify notes by hearing them, which is near impossible for most adults. The consensus seems to be that children's auditory recognition and pitch memory are higher at that "critical period" in in the first 7 years of life, where such skills are useful for learning and remembering words and imitating speech patterns.
      To be clear this is a developing theory, and i don't know if there are any conclusive academic articles on it, i don't even think "auditory memory" is an actual academic term, but i just thought it sounded semanticlly accurate and cool.

      @@kabobawsome Yes the association between the pitch and the note can be maintained through practice, but such associations cant be created by adults. The best they can have is relative pitch, where people can compare pitches and figure out the notes through that.

I loved playing soccer and baseball but the only time I enjoyed watching was when the Royals were winning back to back and won whatever the thing was in 2015. Couldn't agree more on the sports. Used to like watching Blue Jays play. Was amazing when they won back to back pennants.... and then they all split up for other teams offering more money. College teams were more interesting to watch then. They always tried harder because never knew when an scout might be watching...

    Answer for sports is much more complex. You can cheer for individual players and follow them, more commonly you cheer for a team. The team represents a city and fans often have ties to that city. Thats also why relocations can destroy a fans enthusiasm. You arent cheering for the st louis RAMS, youre cheering for the ST LOUIS rams. Plus the shared interest can be a point of bonding for people

    How strange. I feel like i can support a team because they represent a place, a community that i feel i being to. I don't know what draws people to support individual athletes.

    I watch sports if I enjoy the sport itself, so mostly basketball. You can also root for your favorite players regardless of team. Other sports can be fun to watch if they're inherently interesting; for me that means football and tennis and not much else.

    I always though of watching sports and rooting for a team as rooting for a story whether it's an old team making a resurgence or an underdog team coming from nowhere you are rooting for the story you think may unfold. I think you can apply the same logic to a player and follow them instead of a team. For instance I enjoy formula one I am a fan of Mclaren because they have a story I enjoy cheering for, an excellent legacy and a promising future. Each game/race is like a chapter in the story telling of great success or devastating failure.
