Worth noting: Etho is also largely responsible for the advent of block-update detection systems, coining the term BUD-switch 11 years ago. 5 years later, Mojang would introduce the observer block to replicate the functionality of advanced, glitch-reliant block-update detection systems that were being patched out (although Etho's original design could still work to this day).

Such issues dont have to be as bad as fucking alzheimer's but they can exist either due to memory damage or immense trauma especially at immensely young ages. And these memories are not always lost permanently but can sometimes require triggers to remember.
Mine is a result of a kidnapping ate age 4, witness to murder/attempted murder (its complicated but got revived due to procedures meant to preserve bodies for organ harvesting) The Murderer being my mother and kidnapper (lost custody battle), and the victim my father (won full custody prior to all this) combined with my said father being revived with amnesia for awhile that took awhile to change combined with a WIDE range of medical issues and well to put it bluntly I was IMMENSELY traumatized and have many 'issues' to say it lightly

This video is incredible! Excellent job! I used to upload Minecraft content when I was in high school and I know the low view count can be discouraging at times, especially with the level of effort you are putting into the content. I say this to say, don’t give up! You have a rare talent and you have managed to capture that here in this video. I hope to see your channel grow exponentially over the coming months

It showcased his pve skills and knowledge of the game and how funny he can be with other creators. To this day he is one of the few creators I drop almost anything to go watch because eim never disappointed and always leave inspired in some way. I didn't realize until a year or so ago how much he influenced my way of playing games and now I wouldn't have it any other way!!! He introduced me to so many epic creators and ways to play and games that I still go back and watch his older content. This was a great video that really did capture some of his magic, great job!!

    Characters of note:
Vechs was a mapmaker who pioneered the "Capture the Wool" genre of maps. Vechs' created a series of maps called Superhostile, of which canopy-carnage was one. Etho played many of these maps (Among other games) with fellow Mindcrack creators Vintagebeef and Pauseunpause. Excellent video and touching editorializing at the end.

THAT is him being a pioneer, espeiclly since hed been doing it well before rays works and ilmango started doing that sort of thing.

One of the core things that keeps his series' more interesting than most other people, is that for a ton of redstone and other contraptions, he just wings it, instead of hours of planning in test worlds. It keeps the old feeling of tinkering intact, and makes it more relateable to how insane some of the builds are when you only see them in a survival world and not pre-built in a test world.

Good documentary, but I feel that its conclusion somewhat unfairly paints a picture of Etho as someone running out of steam and just kinda chugging along with predictable output for the last few years. It completely neglects to mention Etho's absolutely stellar efforts during Hermitcraft S7 (the season of Shade-E E's), during which his editing, storytelling, and creativity (not to mention his trolling of other players) arguably hit its all-time peak, his uploads for a period being almost weekly.
Hermitcraft S7 was the season in which Etho arranged the entirety of "What Is Love (Baby Don't Hurt Me)" by Haddaway into note blocks using an innovative, original scheme involving chests that store information about which bars to play and built it in Keralis' base entirely off-camera; his own videos used note block versions of classic video game tunes as backing music (instead of just using the same royalty-free music as everyone else). His building style blossomed. And, also, for the entire season, he laced his videos with quick cuts of bamboo sprouting up in unexpected places for no other reason than he found it funny to confuse the viewers, I guess? And then Decked Out came along...
Hermitcraft S7 Etho was STRAIGHT UP FIRE, producing videos that are hilarious and rewatchable to this day, easily some of the BEST content he's ever produced. For that matter... it was also the season (IIRC) when he had to take an extended hiatus due to health problems in his family, and then when he came back he was somehow even more humble and gentle and philosophical than ever? More mature, but still not TOO mature for making "your mum" jokes at BDouble0's expense, lol.
Indeed, from being not much engaged in Hermitcraft as a community for the first few seasons which he was a part of it, he has over time become a regular fixture on that server endearing himself to a whole new audience. Etho has aged like a fine wine.
