As with most mods it's all about elimiting restrictions, headers probably wouldn't do much on their own but once you toss intake and a exhaust at a car it becomes the bottleneck.

I have done this test before with stock headers vs LTH and haven't seen a big difference on a stock cammed DE, mainly because the cams are really small.

Im in the process of installing this on my all-wheel drive G35 Vq35hr I had test pipes and I couldn't deal with exhaust leaks from the exhaust gasket flange so I decided to upgrade it is a pain in the butt to install definitely recommend new studs and bolts
We have had some contention n the pass but your the only one who speaks with supporting data. In relation to the cam there is the overlap controlled by the cam phasing. Do you ever mess with the VVEL lift tables?
@@admintuning I am working with UPREV and stumbled on ECUTEK tuning docs after trying to figure out the purpose of the UPREV tables. ECUTEK seemed to have done a wonderful job at explaining them. I think I might have errored on selecting tuning software. You have to be protuner with ECUTEK which I am not. I have enough skill to tune my own car. The duration is tied to the lift.

The 370's are rumored to have complex (self-adjusting) ignition timing. If this is so, what are you doing to make most of your power gained from the tune? Other than correcting the mixture obviously, I assume you have a good cam timing scheme. What other parameters can be improved on these cars? Or is that most of it?

@@daveochoa8110 you misread that. Look up equal length vs unequal length. Does not have to do with fitment. It's a term to describe runner length. They fit fine and bolt up fine.

PPE historically has made the most power. ISR is technically the best value since it is extremely close horsepower wise but a fraction of the cost. Hope this helps,

What year was the 370z? In 2014 they redesigned the stock header/manifolds for the 370z and from what I hear they are far superior to the older ones.
What kind of results do you see with the vq35hr? I know theres no vvel but would you see proportional gains with the 35hr as you see with the 37vhr?

For the AAM turbo kit, they include their own manifolds, so headers would be a waste.

PPE headers always make more power than Tomei headers. I have actually found this on multiple cars, after the making of this video.

Yes, ISR & PPE headers are very similar in power. I have made over 360whp on a couple of cars with ISR headers.

The Y pipe on a single exhaust scavenges better than most dual exhausts and allows for more power.

What’s a ballpark figure for installing headers? I wanna get the ported plenum and headers and 650 cc injectors and a e85 tune. I got all the other bolt ons and a tune making 309/256 on a base 11’ g37 auto cuz I’m in a wheelchair so don’t hate

Hopefully. I'm about to install mine. Just found out they are not true equal length so kinda bummed. But itll retain some of the signature vq sound.
@@daveochoa8110 you misread that. Look up equal length vs unequal length. Does not have to do with fitment. It's a term to describe runner length. They fit fine and bolt up fine.
I have a 08g35hr with 200k. Just installed test pipes can I tune it or mod the motor or does it have too many miles ?

340 can be done, we hit 337whp without the ported manifold on a 6speed 370Z here.

All 3 of them would be perfectly fine. They'll make within a few whp of each other.

PPE historically has made the most power. ISR is technically the best value since it is extremely close horsepower wise but a fraction of the cost. Hope this helps,

So any VHR motor can use Tomei headers but you have to have the DE test pipes? Someone correct me I’m lost I’m trying to do a full Tomei exhaust from headers to exhaust tip on my 08 6MT G37s and that’s what I’ve been hearing but I just wanna make sure I’m hearing right.

Saving up for another 370z. I know the nismo makes my power but is there a true difference if I would just also do the sane mods/tune with you on a regular 6speed 370z?
Depends on how you look at it. The Nismo 370Z, iirc, is the same engine trim on as the 370Z base, but a different ECU tune.
Isher I know haha I used to on a G35 (blew the motor) and a base 370z (hit by drunk driver) both cars I was ready to get tuned by him but never got to haha

Any VQ if you want it to sound good throw a good pair of long tubes on it I promise it’s worth it
