I think she is paying to be in a virtual world where she connected with her lover/partner for the first time. I assume the partner is no longer alive and she is paying to revisit moments they spent together.
Allucinante come una persona si auguri che la realtà virtuale raggiunga questa tecnologia...io lo trovo ingiusto, non elaborativo del lutto e decisamente dannoso alla salute mentale.
Grief is not linear and I pray that you heal from your own experience but I can't help think and feel that eventually one has to let go and that this wouldn't help the trauma process of loosing someone you love to the afterlife. If it's a relationship that's ended in this film then that's kind of sad and unhealthy. Dipping in and out and talking to them is not going to help the process. It will simply keep the individual stuck unable to move on. There is also the question of the afterlife. This would be an abuse of it I think. A bit too "black mirror" for my liking. A great show but too depressing in terms of highlighting the abuse of virtual reality.
Yeah except this is from another episode in Black mirror the one about blind dating..but I forgot the title (not San Junipero) Update: the episode is called Hang the DJ! One of my favorites
Really heartbreaking story of how our loved ones, and those precious moments in time spent with them, should be cherished, because once gone, they can never truly be gotten back again! Beautifully done film with a completely unexpected twist! Truly excellent work by all involved!
This is giving strong Black Mirror vibes, towards the end especially when she has to recharge him (Maybe not the best descriptor). A kind or virtual world experience with I'm guessing a deceased lover? A recreation of when they first met.
This doesn't have Black Mirror vibes at all to me. Black Mirror is dystopian, uncomfortable, satirical, and dark. This was emotional and sad. The simulation part wasn't played to make us feel tense or shocked the way Black Mirror does, but simply to tell us this was a memory to a (presumably) lost love.
Problem some advanced future, where you can spend time with dead loved ones. This will of course cost a pretty penny cos of global conglomerates n shiz
SPECULATION & SPOILERS: The story doesn't provide much detail, so I'm going to say she's in prison using her funds to have a virtual conjugal visit with the man she left on the outside. This is why it costs credits for the experience but physical contact is not allowed even though it's clearly possible. Maybe, whatever she did is so bad, the guy left her and won't visit for real. Maybe whatever she did got him killed, and he can't visit. Who knows?
Or maybe she’s simply a woman recreating that precious moment with the love of her life, who she lost under completely unrelated circumstances…ones she has nothing to do with. It’s perfectly natural for people to get self-conscious when they break down into tears and self-consciously apologize as a result, after all. No contact is allowed once she’s run out of credits because you’re not allowed contact with that which you have not paid for. It really is incredibly straightforward. If it was the White guy paying to recreate his time with her, I seriously doubt the same assumption about jail would have been jumped to. But because she’s Black, her being in prison is the first assumption that was jumped to!
I have a few people in my past that I sometimes wish I could have a few moments with to gain a bit of closure . None however , were holograms . Although , that might have been better for me in the long run . Cool short , thanks for making it !
What in a digital dystopian world did I just watch? Looks like the woman has to pay to be with an ex-lover for the first time again. But the way she cried and kept saying sorry to the man? Seems to me like her grievance for keeping his memory while he wants it erased.
Are "they" "conditioning" us or is this more likely just a scifi story? Did Harry Potter condition us the wizarding world or did Jws condition us for shark attacks?
I don't think you have to be a sci fi fan to get this_ just some1 who has loved & lost & paid the cost for staying voluntarily stuck in a 5 minute loop of painfully happy mental recreation😨
if all they are eating is hashbrowns why was the dude cooking a burger???? dont get me wrong.... its well done and i like both characters but... the inconsistency of the burger being cooked in that moment as a close up but then neither one of them having a burger to eat was.... weird and it took me out of the fantasy of the moment and made me think... why isnt her food a burger?????? other than that it was good...

This hurts my heart. "Contact not permitted." Understatement for the relentless trauma of grief. If only VR would catch up to this technology.

Connecting prison to the no touching rule is a great idea. Thanks for sharing.
I also wondered why she kept saying she was sorry. Was she sorry he died or did she do something to cause his death?
she would’ve have her phone in jail though
@@anylahc5941 It's sci-fi. The phone could just be an interface. It could just be part of the simulation.
