    This is one of the most subtle and beautiful twists. In my mind, maybe the dancing twin did feel a pinch for a moment as the working twin touched the fan blades, but we see that she was never injured or truly harmed, at all. A revelation about intention is made. The working twin has, in fact, taken the spotlight for a moment -- not in an act of malicious hunger to "please mommy," but to grant her beloved sister reprieve from that suffocation. They were a bonded pair, all along, not spiteful or jealous of each other, but a true team in the face of an overbearing, narcissistic mother.

    loved the ending so much. it’s a shame that sometimes siblings grow up to resent each other without recognizing that they are both innocent and most of this good sibling bad sibling is a result from parenting. the employee of the year daughter could’ve felt that her sister gets everything and that she hates her sister, but in reality her sister is being overworked by her mom, the mom treats her failures like crimes and her successes just as winning the lottery, so this child feels terrified of failing, drained, probably emotionally repressed. both sisters are emotionally repressed, and the problem is the mother, not them. i hope that the father and sisters could reveal to the mom her mistake. she is living through her children

      I had a guess it was Canberra because of the nice panoramic shot at the end, such a neat and orderly looking city. I remember walking around the city centre late one night in the mid 70's and there was not a car or person to be seen which was quite strange for a lad that had grown up in Melbourne. I had an odd feeling that I had been shrunken and placed in an architects model.

      @@1kallay At 5:19 you can see Telstra Tower in the background, which is why I knew it was Canberra. It's quite a nice city. I've been there four times I think. Very different to Melbourne, that's for sure.

      @1kallay 3 роки тому +6

      @@andemaiar I've only been there once and it's funny you should mention the tower, I hadn't noticed it. I was in the army and stationed in Sydney and we went down to Canberra to do a 20 round Artillery salute for a visiting overseas dignitary and we stayed at Duntroon military academy overnight. Not long after we settled in we were called for assembly and told to get changed into sporties then the boss pointed to the tower and said ''see that tower, we're going to run up there'' to more than a couple of quiet groans I can tell you. It was a great view from the lookout though. All the best.

    This is a good example of how a lot of parents put too much pressure on their children to be involved in activities that they really do not want to be involved with. The parent is trying to live his/her dream through their children. The parents are more concerned about showing their children off to society more then being more concerned about the child as an individual person. I know of a lot of fathers who want their sons to be in sports and do well, and if if they do not want to be involved in sports, then the father has very little social interaction with them. What a shame. This is why the sister in this short film pretended that her arm was injured, because he got tired of her mother putting so much pressure on her. This is a great film.

      There is nothing wrong with over-achieving and of course it's brilliant to have such goals as long as it's healthy. But many of us give up because the helicoptering makes you question the point in too many things

    Anyone else notice photo of the girl's injured left arm? Instead of pushing both the mother fixates on the sister who can still fulfill her desire to win.
    I believe it the first sister did injury her left arm and was no longer able to compete. The photos seem to indicate the injury happened fairly recently.
    Several people have commented on the fact the second sister fell on her right side but seemed to be grabbing her left arm. Her recovery at the end seems to indicate no permanent damage. Was she disqualified for the injury only or because the time for recovery would keep her from the games deadline?
    Now that both daughters no longer can fulfill mom's dreams, will she leave them alone??

    For a moment there, I thought they were going to pull the "if I hurt my hand, her hand will hurt too" sister sabotages other sister thing. I'm glad they didn't go there..but I still don't understand why spa daughter put her hand in the fan.
