- When Gareth and his wife decided to have a family in 2017, they learned about a genetic condition called Klinefelter Syndrome or XXY. Gareth speaks about some of the traits of this common but often undiagnosed condition and how we as a society need to talk more openly about male factor infertility. Growing up, Gareth didn’t think about his genetic makeup. It wasn’t until he and his wife decided to have a family that they learned how an extra X chromosome would impact their plans. Gareth speaks about XXY and what it means to be a father and how we as a society can break the taboo of male infertility.

I have never heard of the photographic memory thing, I have almost no short term memory. I am XXY.
Short term memory problems yes, that's common amongst us, but the long term memory is something special
I am XXY AS WELL , my photogenic memory is good and God speaks to me through Gematria and synchronicity

I don’t call it psychiatric . Besides, who created psychiatrists -God… I call it Spiritual Awakening a journey into the Dark Night of the Soul. Psychiatric is a label thrown on to us and it’s not helping us stay divine . Labels to XXY are unnecessary label 🏷️ that doesn’t define this syndrome at all . KS should be protected not degraded
Blueberries eats everyday! And greens when I juiced greens daily in months I was getting clear memories seeing them in my head.
I like his attitude, excellent. I don't appreciate other XXY men who are highly emotional, who listen to gossip, and act on the gossip they hear, without checking out the facts.
I have 2 children by donor too. They're 26 and 27 today. If I wasn't XXY I would not have these two wonderful people in my life. When the children arrived, me being infertile just vanished. I was a dad and I have two children to care for, it was the best time of my life.
The sad part is they had to grow up and leave home.
Still, I'm always available to help out whenever they need my help, and I never say no. I will do anything for my children.
how can you hate on other xxy people when you know how it feels im sure your view changed, because your older but dont you realize the struggle young males have to go trough? no one talks about this problem in schools no one is aware about mental health of these people you cant even know how many kids like me are struggling in this very moment and are scared to talk about this problem and need help. Knowing something is wrong with the the the whole time im 17 and i struggle alot because of xxy in alot of things relationships included

Of course when you first discover infertility in your early twenties and not only is there zero compassion but no potential cause offered , in fact total medical disinterest, that poor mental health you mention can have a habit of becoming entrenched to potentially cause one to not only purposefully destroy their career, as I did, and yeah I was good at what I did, but for the first time in one's life enter into making poor life choices to make matters increasingly and in some case purposefully worse for yes self destructive I did become .Until something happens to cause medical questions to be asked to find eighteen years later one had been carrying an extra chromosome all along. Yippee help at last, nope, the medical disinterest perplexingly continued, nay, it actually became worse, to say as I sit here now twelve years post diagnosis, I have still not had any treatment for the syndrome I was diagnosed with, so no, testosterone was not offered and it was refused when I sought. The infertility, oo, now that is a pain that still burns deep coming up for forty years later, to know being informed of with no explanation or hope inspired, ruined my life.

Expected much more and not all xxy individuals qualify for testosterone injection.
Please feel free to put yourself forward to do your own Ted Talk. I do say XXY is a spectrum so whether a person needs testosterone or not varies.
I was suspected in June or July 1976. I had to wait until November to get my karyotype finished. Then I had to wait until July 1977 to see an Endocrinologist. Then it was October 1977 before I got testosterone, as my tiny testicles were pumping out low normal testosterone until then. Then, I had issues getting the injection, so I went onto capsules, but I was never any good at compliance. If they told me I could inject myself, all my problems getting the injection would have evaporated. I was very much being kept in the dark about my condition.

Mine were under 1.0mls volume. Normal is between 10.0 mls and 30.0mls volume. So that's tiny.
