    I really like that, turn you into your own medicine. Thank you for all ur efforts on helping heal the world. There definitely needs to be more somatic healing awareness.

    Can you please talk about containing positive emotions? While they do feel better, I find that they are way harder to be present with.

      Hi truthtoknow, Have you seen free Irene's Haling Trauma video series? I ask because in it she talks about the different branches of the autonomic nervous system and how sometimes our nervous system doesn't have the capacity to handle the activation that arises (we may experience this as sensation, emotion, memory, etc.).
      This can be the case for emotions we typically consider positive - excitement, joy, elation, etc. - as well as those that can be more painful and/or uncomfortable. Either way the approach is the same - learning to grow nervous system capacity and regulation so that we have more capacity to handle all of life's ups and downs, what happens both inside and outside of us. Simple yet profound!

      @@teamlyon3109 Thank you for your response! Yes, I have seen videos on the topic, I guess this feels so challenging that I was hoping for more advice, or a shortcut in other words😅 But you are right, I probably should just apply those ideas for positive emotions as well.

      @@AnnafromHungarylvNW, like everything, it definitely gets easier with practice!
      If you want more support, I encourage you to check out Irene's starter program, the 21 Day Nervous System Tune Up. In addition to education and practices, it includes access to a private FB group where you can connect with peers doing the work and ask questions of nervous system specialists. It's how I first started with Irene's work (before I joined the Team) and would recommend it.

    I find the idea of holotropic breathwork reckless and terrifying. I resonate more with the baby steps, incremental titration approach supporting the pace of individual somatic experiencing.

    I have another request: do you think it is possible that when you become more present with your body and more authentic with your body language, you might start to reveal camouflaged ASD traits? I know that my body language is becoming more and more unusual but my mental health seems to become better and better.

      Hi truthtoknow, sometimes on the road to growing nervous system regulation we can have all kinds of experiences - including tension arising in the body and unusual/unfamiliar movement and postural patterns.
      If you are on the path to growing regulation, I'd invite you to continue along the path to see what emerges before applying diagnostic labels. That said, as a general rule please see a professional if you have any concerns about your health or wellbeing or your gut tells you to do so.

    Do you think the SGB shot procedure would compliment healing process?

    • @teamlyon3109
      @teamlyon3109 4 роки тому

      Hi Liz, I don't have personal experience with the SGB shot, and generally speaking using medications and related approaches that are designed to support mental/emotional/physical functioning can help to make therapeutic interventions more accessible and effective, but they are not usually substitutes for the foundational (and often life changing) work of growing nervous system capacity and regulation.
      If you want to learn more about why this is so, Irene's free Healing Trauma video series can be a great place to start. I'd recommend it if you haven't seen it yet: irenelyon.com/healing-trauma-youtube/
