So I lived in New Jersey as a high schooler. This awesome mechanic just up the road from me by the name of Jack, who ran "Jacks Garage" had a Malibu EXACTLY that color but in 1992 or 3. He built his and my 198o Malibu at the same time. His was a 350 as I recall mine a 327 from an Impala. Mine was blacked out front to back and I drove the piss out of that thing till she died, well till I killed her🥴. I yanked the motor out swapped in a 305 and with a tear in my eye sold it to a girl I worked with. I miss that car every day. Just out of curiosity, this does not belong to a guy named Jack who'd be in his late 60's by now, does it? Back in the day he looked like Captain Morgan . I wanted him to be my Dad at times... He was just so cool to me and my Mom.
Thanks for the memory revival
CHEERS!

I used to own a 79 Malibu. It wasn’t BBC powered but it did have a 350 and a 4-speed. One of the many cars I’ve owned that I should’ve kept.
Bro quit talkin about bbc 😭😭😭😭😭
Nah, would've costed too much to keep her running. Give it decades... Of owning a car... After replacing stuff over and over, the love goes away

Nice build, subtle but classy. The color-matched everything makes it look less dated than a lot of chrome. The torque is what these big blocks are about.
Fun fact about Malibus, only the front windows rolled down regardless of the bodystyle. GM wanted to "encourage" buyers to get air conditioning.
Very underrated car all generations of them I got a 2003 and its fantastic!
My first car was chevy malibu. A 1978 wagon version.. That lil 305 never let me down
Nothing beat the feeling of driving a Chevy big block. Still want to build a 572ci 70 Monte Carlo.
Thank you for covering this car! I just started playing GTA Online again, and there's a clone of this car in the game. I always wondered about these cars, so its pretty awesome to have an in-depth video about it right after I bought one!
It’s the Malibu of my 82 Monte! With my 468 big block with a 3 speed! Though the red looks better than the white in my opinion. 2:16 is my car btw
Hopefully one day you can review my 94 Sunbird and 97 Sunfire coupes.
What a wild Machine that is!
It has a great rumble.
Great stuff, i have an old V8 Magazine (Finnish American Car Magazine) and there is a random picture of a Malibu with spoilers and everything you could throw to that thing in the 80's.
I knew I recognized those audi seats! I need to upgrade my a4 to some of those a6 seats. They look way more comfortable.
Love me some g bodies, we have a 79 El Camino!
My dad talked about having one of these, unfortunately he and his father turned it into a dirt car back when he was in his early 20’s and totaled it at the track
@shooting cars how do you find to post so many reviews so quickly? i mean heck, three this week? otoh, love your videos.
I like cars and sleep very little.
saw one of these in Bel Air MD the other night
clean and great!!!
2:26 no it’s a kick to the butt when you punch it!!!!
Nice
Cool 😎
A 10.9 quarter mile is no joke. That's what I ran in my C8 Vette and it's some serious speed.
I'm used to cars here being in mostly original condition and not so modified. 🙁
Has any of the cars you've reviewed ever passed the Big Friggin Bottle test? I've seen 7 of your reviews and so far ALL of those cars have failed
⚡ CHEVY THUNDER ⚡
These are hard to come upon nowadays
13 gallons per mile 😂
firmst
Soooo boring! What's the point? If you're not going to show fast acceleration, revving the engine in park, etc.????
