Me: No, science is for overanalyzing tv series, movies and video games to make us feel better.
The whole point of science is to "overanalyse" things, that's why scientists have developed an understanding for the universe.
If scientists just sat around and were like "yep, let's remain ignorant and assume that things work the way we are used to" then they wouldn't be scientists anymore, because they would no longer search for new knowledge.

Gemetics 101
The form of a Gem asides from the gemstone itself is made of hard light. The Jedi actually use precognition as they are so in tune with the Force. Another ability the Jedi possessed was Force Speed, were they would speed up there body greatly allowing them to cover great distances and fight like they do.
Fun fact: some Jedi like Luke Skywalker could harness Force Lightning although not all 5 variants.
