Julie, I wrote this to the young woman who has this channel, but then read the comments and saw yours. I was 18..... I was a young man of 18 when that song came out. My first girlfriend and I were so in love. Even today at the age of 61, I remember her face and eyes, as if I'd just seen her. We celebrated the fourth of July together, at my home town's park fireworks in 1978. We had a blanket spread out in the grass, on the ground and enjoyed our time together, but after the fireworks ended, which was about 10 p.m. we stayed. I'd brought a small radio along. There's wasn't a cloud in the sky. We laid there in each others arms, talking and kissing, and just being a couple. We were there till 1 a.m. The park police drove by a few times, and never approached us. I think maybe they realized that this was a magic time for the two of us. Then this song came on, and at that moment we were both taken by it's beauty and truth. We'd each heard it numerous times, but were taken by it and both of us teared up. Being brothers, the BeeGees had genetically similar vocal apparatuses and their vibratos were synced in a physical way... their pitch was spot on too. Wonderful musicians. Meaningful lyrics.
Exactly...they "layered" naturally together. This sound is what all the artists do today with a computer, layering their own voice multiple time to achieve a fuller sound...something the Bee Gees did naturally, with their own raw talent.
The Bee Gees (among the most successful groups of all time) wrote & released Too Much Heaven in 1978. It was climbing charts world wide (already #1 in US & Canada, #3 in UK) before the Jan 1979 fundraiser, “Music for UNICEF.” They then donated, in perpetuity, ALL their royalties, not just from the UNICEF event, merch & compilation album (as the other bands did, though some just for a limited time), but also their publishing rights. So, UNICEF continues to get paid, from anyone’s version & any use (including in movies, TV, commercials, etc). As the 1st band to make such a donation to charity, they were recognized for it by UN Secretary General, Kurt Waldheim & invited to the White House by President Carter. The last official tally I saw was 2011, saying UNICEF had received more than 10 million British pounds from it, for emergency food & healthcare. I’ve seen others post it hit 20 million as of 2019, but I haven’t found an official source for that.
Although I was not a big fan of the Bee Gees I was there. One day I was driving on Sunset Blvd and they were coming from the opposite way in a convertible I think doing a music video. They made great music that will stand the test of time.
the expressions on your face were priceless. You at times looked scared amazed confused and looked like you couldnt believe what you heard lol. Probably the best best harmony group ever.
The Bee Gees were the Best. Their voices were absolutely beautiful, especially Barry and his falsetto. You don't hear voices like this today. So gifted, so talented and pure raw talent. No auto tune, no yelling and screaming, they Just could sing and the Harmony was ridiculous! Amazing, amazing voices from God!❤❤😊😊❤❤😊😊
You cannot go wrong with The Bee Gees. Any of their songs will be amazing for you to experience. Older stuff like Masachusets and Words, I started a joke, as well as their more popular songs like Staying alive and How deep is your love. They are all awesome songs you will, almost certainly, love. Dive on in, ma'am, the 'water' is beautiful.
Agree, but, even their lesser known, adventurous forays into themes/music are utterly amazing: 'ESP' and 'Edge of the Universe', for a couple. Key is their ability to evoke clear, relatable images in listeners' minds through their music/lyrics.
I agree, you can never go wrong with the Bee Gees. I grew up with their music and I'm in my 60s.But my mom & dad loved their music too! Bee Gees are a hit with every generation.
I'm stoked to find this in my feed. A 63yr old, I live in Queensland Australia. My son lives in Redcliffe, north of Brisbane where the Bee Gee family moved to, from England. It's a seaside village that commemorates the guys in a interactive open air mall. Their music plays 24/7. It's beautiful, full of life size pictures and statues, etc. They had a younger brother Andy, who found some fame, married Victoria Principal, but died in the 80's
I didn’t appreciate this song for the masterpiece that it is back when I was growing up. The beautiful lyrics, musicianship and vocals are astonishing.
I graduated high school about the time this song was popular. I’m sorry your generation has nothing that compares. Your appreciation of the Bee Gees is touching. ❤
I was also crying because I grew up with them and Barry Gibb is the last man standing. All three of his brothers have passed. Every song The Bee Gees made is amazing 💯🌟💜🌟💯
Being born in the early 70s, this song is so comforting to me. Non-specific, nostalgic childhood feel. Background music of my early days. I can't help but love it!
I’m 72 years old. I’ve known of them for YEARS. !!! . They have the most beautiful, amazing voices. I cry every time I hear them because I cry for Barry’s brothers. They are all past now. The two with Barry are twins Robin and Maurice. Then there was a younger brother Andy. He’s no longer with us either. Robin died because of Cancer. Maurice died a few years later due to abdominal problems. Andy the youngest died from medical overdose. I feel so bad for Barry. He is all alone except for his wife and children. They all live in Miami now and became US citizens.
They were a true musical gift to so many. Started as young boys and worked on their harmonies endless ly. So glad you can appreciate them. Bring them back around for others to marvel at.
I was going to suggest "How Deep is Your Love?" as well. It is wonderful. The Gibb brothers did sound like angels. We are blessed to have those sounds with us.
Well…here’s another interesting fact…this remarkable song was recorded _IN ONE TAKE!!_ You would never see that done in today’s soulless musical climate.
@@flightforensics4523Awesome that must’ve been a hell of an experience. Obviously she was a top talent to work with such an amazing Band and group of Human Beings. This is some of the best music ever. Kudos to you Mother.
Thank you so much for the great reaction to the Bee Gees songs! To hear someone say such sincere comments brings back memories of how much their music touched the lives of so many people and how their words have touched the hearts of all the fans especially to those that have been there since the premiere of Saturday Night Fever!
Bee Gee's are beyond a doubt one of the most phenomenal bands ever but if you would like to hear some more incredible harmonious vocals listen to some of the more songs from the Eagles you will be blown away
I've seen so many of these reactions to The Bee Gees "Too Much Heaven", but yours is by far the best. Thank you for respecting it but not interrupting it. Your reaction was just like all of ours when we first heard it back in the 70's, we were all speechless too.
BeeGees song "Words" is really beautiful as well. It always makes me cry! If you take a deep dive into ALL their music I don't think you will be disappointed.
Beautiful heavenly harmony for sure. The Bee Gees are my favorite band ever. I never get tired of listening to the many, many beautiful songs they wrote, sang and shared.
I absolutely loved watching your reactions as they were singing. I grew up listening to them and I never get tired of hearing any of their songs. And I agree with you they're harmonizing I have never in all my decades my decades heard voices that harmonized as well as there. And yes angels without a doubt.
Watching this young lady tear-up over a song that was released when I was 8 and she wasn’t even born speaks to the power of song…and restores my hope for the young souls
They're fantastic. I love that you go from Tom Jones to The Bee Gees. It's beautiful, and truly brilliant. You could very well be exposing a whole new generation to these amazing artists. I grew up listening to Delta blues and metal, but no one can hear these guys and not FEEL! Thank You so much!! Now, please don't miss Foo Fighters (as Dee Gees(Dave Grohls) and their cover of The Bee Gees "You Should Be Dancing"! Until next time!💙
The BEE GEES, wow. I remember Saturday night fever very well also, they rocked it in the mid, to late 70's, during the big disco era, sadly we lost robin and Maurice Gibb, only Barry Gibb, is alive. What a iconic group, we were blessed with. There music will live on for ever, for the new generation to hopefully enjoy.
No autotune. No dubbing. I saw the Bee Gees live, and I promise you, the harmonies were EXACTLY what you heard on that video! Thank you for sharing your reaction. I had goosebumps within the first 30 seconds as I remembered when the song first came out! (I'm 61!!) PLEASE dig deeper in the Bee Gees, especially the pre-Disco years!!
Thank you for sharing this unquestionably brilliant song. You absolutely nailed the reaction to this song. The Bee Gees are near the top of ‘Best bands to ever perform!’ list of music makers. More over, thank you for NOT interrupting the song…letting it shine on its own, and man how it did and does shine! I like you lots!
The Bee Gees really hit it big when the lead singer started singing in Falsetto. People really loved it. lol Your look of complete confusion had me laughing through the entire song.
And they began to come apart when he got tired of it, and wanted to try new sounds, and his brother (Robin) wanted to stick to what was working and making them rich and famous.
@@GK-yi4xv They came apart because of the whole "burn disco" craze that was started by a DJ at radio station in Chicago. The station hosted a Disco Demolition Night as a White Sox Double Header between the games. Since the Bee Gee were connected so closely with disco because of Saturday Night Fever, they took the brunt of it despite them being so much more than disco. They were not played on the radio here in the US for decades because of it. It's only been about 10-15 years now that I hear them being played regularly now. The all of their hits after the late 70's were made overseas as they rarely got any radio time here in the US.
@@lisamccue1730 Either way, he could sing!! Maurice didn't sing lead much, but he could also sing your socks off. Robin had a unique voice that I doubt will ever be copied or repeated.
The music is beautiful because those days were beautiful. We thought it would always be like that. Saw your tears, then the stunned silence. Yes, your reactions are true and correct.
I’ve been a Bee Gees fan since their mid-70s Main Course work. This song received so much air play when it came out (at their peak) that I quickly tired of hearing it and relegated it to a place lower on my list of favourite Gibb songs. Thanks to your video and reaction, I think I love it all over again now!
NOW THATS A REACTION!! Let me tell ya what I seen, first what the hell how can this be, emotions kick in and melts that heart, cause of you not hearing something like this before, then the high notes kick in and them chills started climbing up that arm and down your spine. Lol! That's how you know a great song has alot of power of love. AND YOU MY FRIEND FELT ALOT ALL AT ONCE. Awesome reaction girl. Very honest and heart felt.
It is a blessing to see and hear your reaction to this phenomenal band. I was crying just because they were just the best in everything they put out. There won’t be another Bee Gees. I miss them and the 70s music sooo much. Glad you are experiencing them, they are like no other 💖
Just found you when doing my daily, or twice daily, Bee gees search. Wonderful, honest reaction. You can't fake the impact this group has on you the first time. They are legends, icons, just perfection in harmony. Just subscribed and can't wait to hear more. To Love Somebody is one of their earlier (1967) greats, or You Win Again from 20 years later. All great stuff. The
There's something about siblings' harmonies that just works so well. The Andrews sisters, the Mills brothers, the BeeGees (brothers Gibb), the Everly brothers. Btw, I really like how you listened to this song and waited until the end before you commented (we could see your reaction).
The reason The Bee Gees sound so good together is because they are brothers. Related family members can often sound much tighter in their harmonies than musical groups who are unrelated. It’s literally in their DNA.
Thank you for reacting to the Bee Gees and recognizing how amazing and talented they are. I've always loved the Bee Gees and your comments made me cry. ❤
‘A warm hug’ - what a great description of the BeeGees!!! They have @45 years of music so you have plenty of time to catch up. Although I bet you’ve heard “Staying Alive” and just didn’t know it was them. Harmonies are always great. Subscribed for more BeeGees!!
The musicianship in the video is magical. Everyone playing so beautifully together to produce this song. I love your reaction. I feel like we're connected now because we both love the same song!! lol
So many of the ladies have the same type of reaction when Barry starts singing. At first it is a look of being stunned then there is emotion starting then confusion.
Yesssssss……well said with those fresh ears! Been listening to them for years and years…… loved seeing your reaction!! Beautiful. Reminds me of how I felt the first time I heard them too.❤️
Most Bee Gees songs have amazing harmonies on record and live so there is a huge rabbit hole of tracks from the 60s to 2001. Fabulous early songs include Massachusetts, To Love Somebody, New York Mining Disaster then the 70s disco/ soul with Night Fever, Stayin Alive, Tragedy, You Should be Dancing, How Deep is Your Love. 1980s with You Win Again and 90s with Secret Love, For Whom the Bells Toll plus many, many others. They wrote all their own music plus songs for others.
I'm so happy that your generation is discovering the beautiful sound of the Bee Gees. They also wrote all their own music and music for other artists of their time. Their harmony and falsetto singing voices are as amazing as they are beautiful.
I loved them back in the day and wore out their Saturday Night Fever album. Its good to see you young guys discovering the singers from the past. The 2 backups are his baby brothers that are actually twins. There was another one that was the youngest that looked exactly like the lead singer that did a record but died from myocarditis from years of cocaine use. He had talent as well.
Hello beautiful, I love this song, the way Barry (man in the middle singing) reaches those high notes. Could you play these songs by the Bee Gees? Love You Inside Out, Love So Right, Wish You Were Here, One! The Bee Gees wrote all of their own hits, the Bee Gees have sold over 120 million albums all over the world. Top 40 hits, fifteen Top 10's, and 9 number ones!🧔

I recently fell back in love with the BeeGees (they have a documentary about them out --it's heavenly!). First of all, you are cute as a button and so sincere! I totally get your reaction, their music still moves me after all these years. Just beautiful and special.
I was a teenager in the 70's when they came on the scene, and I couldn't get enough of their music. I'm excited to see your reaction because this us us how they touched me as well. I was 18 when I saw Saturday Nught Fever with my mom, and I was already married at the time. Their album was incredible!!!!
That is a good one! "Main Course" is my favorite album of theirs out of all of them. I also can listen to "Alone" over and over and over and over. I will never get tired of either of these.
My parents had the double greatest hits album records when I was growing up and played them often. When this song started out in here it immediately thought of my parents console stereo up loud with this song on while we put groceries away. I was 10 when it came out.
That song was made in one take!! No voice overs nothing! The Bee Gees were one of the Best ever. So sad so many generations miss pure talent like the Bee Gees!! Just listen to any Bee Gees songs. Better yet listen to all of them!!!
I grew up solid 10 years after the Bee Gees heyday... and at that time they were considering lame and out of step... But in hindsight their output it goddamn brilliant.

Exactly...they "layered" naturally together. This sound is what all the artists do today with a computer, layering their own voice multiple time to achieve a fuller sound...something the Bee Gees did naturally, with their own raw talent.
And they had been performing since they were teenagers.
And wrote over 1000 songs... they both sang and sold
@@greggbradford2307 Yup. They're in the Songwriters Hall of Fame with 1031 songs written by Barry, Maurice & Robin, together, alone or with others.
Wow I had no idea they did that! Cracking bit of information thank you 👍
I remember, I was 13 years old.
Although I was not a big fan of the Bee Gees I was there. One day I was driving on Sunset Blvd and they were coming from the opposite way in a convertible I think doing a music video. They made great music that will stand the test of time.
The bee gees really do sound like angels
Their voices are some of the most angelic voices out there
ua-cam.com/video/bj2sS3Q22uk/v-deo.html
I was just thinking how ethereal they sound.
Wonder how Mitch Grassi's angelic voice would blend with them !! Both are beautiful!
Don't forget Andy Gibbs
@@kevinknox1239 he sounds amazing too
the expressions on your face were priceless. You at times looked scared amazed confused and looked like you couldnt believe what you heard lol. Probably the best best harmony group ever.
I thought so too. I thought she was going to cry which is understandable to such a wonderful song.

Big love 💘
She Genuinely seems in disbelief. Barry Gibb’s voice and the BEE Gees, in general are phenomenal-the word over.
You are absolutely right! God bring to all of them the greatest talent!
❤YOUNG LADY, TAKE A SEAT, PUT ON YOUR SEATBELT, TIGHTEN IT, AND HANG ON TO SOMETHING WHEN YOU LISTEN TO 🎶 THE BEE GEES.
I agree boo! There ain't nothing like The Bee Gee's... they set a huge stage to follow! ❤ Have the most amazing day 💐
You cannot go wrong with The Bee Gees.
I started a joke-that’s a good one! Words as well!
@@mezanian So cool to hear that there is an open air place that plays their music 24/7!
I didn’t appreciate this song for the masterpiece that it is back when I was growing up. The beautiful lyrics, musicianship and vocals are astonishing.
Same!
"How Deep Is Your Love" by the Bee Gees is another song you will absolutely love also!!!
A very beautiful song
One of their best and most beautiful songs ever made
One of the all-time best slow dance songs.
Bodyguard is underrated. another great slow song.
🥰🥰🥰🥰
I graduated high school about the time this song was popular. I’m sorry your generation has nothing that compares. Your appreciation of the Bee Gees is touching. ❤
I was also crying because I grew up with them and Barry Gibb is the last man standing. All three of his brothers have passed. Every song The Bee Gees made is amazing 💯🌟💜🌟💯
Being born in the early 70s, this song is so comforting to me. Non-specific, nostalgic childhood feel. Background music of my early days. I can't help but love it!
The tear came from Barry Gibb's angelic voice, a voice like that only comes around once in a lifetime
If you listen to what she says, she says it's the harmonies she didn't single Barry out , she said three or four times it was the Angelic harmonies
@@krisdaan1406 There are a few voices in music that are unbelievably difficult to imitate and Barry Gibb is one of them.
Meh... Prince, Michael Jackson, Luther Vandross, Boyz II Men, and numerous others. You must stay away from black music like the plague 😄
Robin Gibb is as easily matched voice as Barry. Robins voice is very unique and he wrote most of their songs back in the Disco era
I have seen hundreds of reaction videos, but your split screen is truly the BEST! Well done!
One small correction, Maurice died before Robin, but everything else is quite accurate.
Their sister Lesly is still alive
They were a true musical gift to so many. Started as young boys and worked on their harmonies endless ly. So glad you can appreciate them. Bring them back around for others to marvel at.
Born in the 60's. I have always loved Bee Gees. Their music is so beautiful. Thank you youngster for listening to our music. So refreshing!
Born in the 40s, always loved them❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I was going to suggest "How Deep is Your Love?" as well. It is wonderful. The Gibb brothers did sound like angels. We are blessed to have those sounds with us.
Great suggestion. It’s always been in my top 5 favorite songs of all time. Absolutely beautiful. The Bee Gees are something special for sure.

Real singers and songwriters! Listen, no Autotune!! The Real voice.Such a beautiful thing!!!
Makes me feel proud to see young folk as yourself enjoy the music i grew up with. Thank you for your reaction to the Bee Gees singing. 😍
HER REACTION IS AMAZING ❤️THATS REAL VOCAL TALENT NO AUTO TUNE NEEDED REAL INSTRUMENTS BEING PLAYED MY GENERATION OF TALENT BABY GIRL👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Thank you so much for the great reaction to the Bee Gees songs! To hear someone say such sincere comments brings back memories of how much their music touched the lives of so many people and how their words have touched the hearts of all the fans especially to those that have been there since the premiere of Saturday Night Fever!
You’ve just experienced the BEST singer / songwriters on the planet from the UK
A time when music was REAL with REAL talent
100% I was 12 years old when the Bee Gees blew up the radio wave, with no auto tune the harmony was magic❤
When the music is just so good the tears and goose bumps are inevitable! ✌🏼♥️🎶
Bee Gee's are beyond a doubt one of the most phenomenal bands ever but if you would like to hear some more incredible harmonious vocals listen to some of the more songs from the Eagles you will be blown away
Well done for not commenting throughout the track but leaving it to the end. Your discription of the song was spot on.
Those high notes hit in the deepest part of the soul ♥️
Her reaction is priceless! This is an evergreen song.
Until next time!💙
The Dee Gees try…..but the “real guys are the real deal”🎼!!!
Wonderful harmonies, gets you right in the heart.
I like Barry Gibb's natural voice far better. That man could sing.
@@lisamccue1730 He still can!!
They used to sing great music back then. The Bee Gees were one of the best groups back then
Hell yeah
They were the greatest from the 60s to 2001, you missed out if you were relying on the radio to play their music much after "79".
Their music will Always be iconic!
I started a joke ,, my favorite that's one that gets me .
Nobody could compare to them yesterday, today, or tomorrow! music took a dive after "79" Rap is so old and sickening already (Move On)
They began singing together when they were toddlers. That's why their harmonies have always been perfect.
One theory is that because they are biological brothers there harmonies were on another level...
So lovely to see a reaction video from a channel that doesn’t interrupt the performance- waits until it is over to comment ❤
The music is beautiful because those days were beautiful. We thought it would always be like that. Saw your tears, then the stunned silence. Yes, your reactions are true and correct.
Best group ever. Sang like angels and wrote songs for some of the greats.
The Bee Gees rule. Watching your reaction made me feel like I was hearing them for the first time too. Thank you!
Aww...sweet wee one. I'm a 56 year old man and their music just hits right. They pull something from our souls.
I agree. She was mesmerized.
Actually another group that has fantastic harmonies - the Osmonds. They too, were 1970s to later. Donny continues to write songs and perform.
Carpenters, Ames Brothers, McGuire Sisters, Williams Brothers
Me TOO, glad she waited…
Agreed
The reason The Bee Gees sound so good together is because they are brothers. Related family members can often sound much tighter in their harmonies than musical groups who are unrelated. It’s literally in their DNA.
I found you from a tiktok video reacting to this song. So glad you enjoyed the song. ❤
I feel like we're connected now because we both love the same song!! lol
I totally agree what a fantastic song and their vocals were Brilliant
So many of the ladies have the same type of reaction when Barry starts singing. At first it is a look of being stunned then there is emotion starting then confusion.
Yesssssss……well said with those fresh ears! Been listening to them for years and years…… loved seeing your reaction!! Beautiful. Reminds me of how I felt the first time I heard them too.❤️
I've always loved the Bee Gees. Check out" Nights on Broadway by the Bee Gees" (Barry Gibb sings in his lower voice - Very powerful sound.
🥰🥰
I love them all, too, but Massachusetts and For Whom the Bell Tolls are epic on top of epic!
