I really hope the pricing MSI gave me was incorrect for this one, would love to see this a lot closer to the $450 US dollar mark. Exceptional card nonetheless. Will just have to see what it launches at when it hits the shelves. Thanks for watching!
Could you do an Ncase m1 Accelero 3 setup with a 5700xt?
I'm curious how well it would perform.
It probably is 450$, there is no way this card is worth a 150$ price hike over the reference model (maybe if it was water-cooled lol). A 50$ price hike over reference seems reasonable for a premium card like this one.
@@TheMassgames That's the correction I kept proposing. Apparently there was some internal confusion. We'll just have to wait and see what it launches at.
@@TheMassgames Agreed.
You need to be Asus strix Rx 5700 XT fanboy to buy it since after all there's plenty of choice out there... for example Sapphire pulse Rx 5700 xt...
$549? Newegg has the Sapphire Nitro listed at $439.....
And the RTX 2080 Palit has been spotted for $550
Let's be real, we all have been waiting for that and it has been worth the wait. There is NO way we're gonna be getting it without spamming refresh/F5.
The 5700XT is great and all but once you hit 2070 Super pricing it loses its edge.....
@@Moshenokoji When you reach Nvidia's pricing, then you failed. There's no value at that price.
I got it for 429
Emmmm... are you sure you're prices are right? The MSI RX 5700 XT Gaming X is not $549, it's $449.
Daniel West when we can buy ?
@MrBeast but there is no gaming x 5700xt
I can’t find red devil too it’s out of stock probably I will buy xfx thick ll ultra
I am so confuse I have just 3 day for order I will go my country first of October
The lowest one now for $400.
Would love a review like this for the msi ventus 2070 super. Havent seen any on youtube and your tests make me confident enough to either buy or pass on a product. Keep up the excellent videos and work!
There has to be some sort of miscommunication or misunderstanding regarding the price.. Heck even the rog strix aint that costly!
I see that you got one of the EK Meltemi fans hidden in B-roll, video coming soon?
Good spot! And yep :)
Your videos are really thorough and useful. I always enjoy watching them. Keep it up man.

Video about 5700 XT:
"Let me sell you an NVIDIA 2070 Super and talk about why its so great."
Huh??
HYBRID for $500+ dollars it’s not even close to worth it. 5700 XT beats it in several benchmarks
I really like your videos. I think it would be really cool to see how you produce your video's, what gear you use and how you make those nice shots.
I think Mr. MKBHD is somehow related for designing this gpu..
Hey I was wondering. What lens/lenses do you use?
Wow, those temps are extremely high for AIB, this is nuts considering your 19C ambient temp.
They are not that high, a red devil has "worse" cooling.
How many watts does the Msi Rx 5700 gaming x consume in iddle and full load
I am looking towards the Sapphire cards, both the Pulse and the Nitro, on the RX 5700 XT GPU. Sapphire cards are extremely well built and have great thermal performance.
Yo , would this fit into the Ghost S1 and if so how is the compatability with the top plate and the power plugs on the card, would i need a top hat ?
managed to pick this up for 500aud brand new, good buy?
could you check if you can remove the red accent parts somehow and paint them for example or is that not possible ?
Will a deshrouded MSI RX 5700 XT Gaming X fit in an NCase M1?
so when is this supposed to launch? seems like it launched already, yet i have yet to see it anywhere. I'm looking to upgrade from an MSI R9 390x 8gb...more for more DP ports
Hello! Did you succesfully customize RGB in software? I am desperate for help. Thank you :)
Why compare it to reference card and not with sapphire and red devil? In my opinion that would make more sense, because those are the best 5700 xt cards.
If I had those cards on hand, absolutely, but unfortunately I don't.
what about the xfx thicc 2 ??
@@optimumtech Ah. I understand. Generally I love your videos, they look very professional.
@@jhny0 Watch reviews on other channels ... it seems to be complete garbage, running hot and louder than the reference card somehow : ))
@@jhny0 Forget about the XFX THICC. That one has the worst cooling of all the partner models and gets extremely loud, spinning its fans above 2,000 rpm when gaming. It's a shame, because that's the best-looking card ever.
Man. I could still return my reference model, but the great AIB models are impossible to find. Itd also be a pain in the ass to get it from newegg since I got my reference model on Amazon. Guess water cooling is still in my future, as awesome as this card looks!!!
Would you recommend the 5700xt over the 2070 super? I’m gonna use the card in the NZXT H1.
Yet again MSI cutting corners on the thermal pads just like on the Evoke... SMH
It's not cutting corners if it cools exceptionally well. Have you actually looked at the numbers? www.techpowerup.com/review/msi-radeon-rx-5700-xt-gaming-x/31.html
Except it performs better than 99% of other AIBs, gotta love those internet experts.
@Khaffit Get your head out of your ass and stop bitching about insignificant non-problems ... the VRAM temps are very low so what's your fucking problem ? If it causes the VRAM to spike very high or smth It would make sense to be angry about it but like this ? ... just people wanting smth to rage about ...
@@mrthefloris This video by Steve of Gamers Nexus will hopefully educate you a little more on the issue. ua-cam.com/video/PdC8konCqMM/v-deo.html
thermal pads Too short 😕
Do you know if i can install the MSI GAMING X bios in a MSI MECH OC gpu ?
roundoup of the new cards that are actually 2 slot cards and can fit in all those sff cases you have would be nice to see some that can actually fit in my ghost s1
Anybody try a mini ITX build with this card? What case did you use?
I have corsair spec delta which has 160mm air cooler clearance , this card is 140mm wide , can this actually fit ?
$550 is 100% an error. They would never sell at that price.
It's 450
@@matteo964 ...well yes I'm aware.
Comment's a month old.
I found one for 570 cad
Can someone tell me the difference between reference and non reference because i see people saying the reference version sucks but i don’t understand why (deciding between this and the 2060)
Your video production its fuc* amazing. I wish i make a lot of more videos because they are dawn good! Sorry For Bad English. Wish you the best, just a fan from Brazil.
Can you try nzxt g12 gpu cooler to this?
Does this fit my old Bitfenix Prodigy case?
How much better performance do you get after stripping the 5700xt and slapping a AIO on top... Using the g12 bracket and is it worth doing that or just buy $ 550 card
Where can I buy this thing? I can't find it anywhere.
Did anyone get this MSI card? I was watching several other videos about it and a couple of them reported some coil whine, one of them had petty severe coil whine.
Planning to get either this card or the Nitro+ from Sapphire.
Which 5700 XT will fit in the Dan A4 v4?
Ouft the best part about the 5700XT was the price, at those costs you might as well spend a wee bit more and go for the 2070
Hopefully once more 5700XT options, and stock, is available.. the prices will come down abit.
No Way that $549 US price is correct. You were misinformed methinks.
What were the db on the noise level test?
I think that's the nicest looking design MSI have done in ages.
Hey man! Are you able to confidently tell which material the cooling plate of the GPU is made of? Looks like nickel plated copper to me, but may well be aluminium. I'm looking to give the card a liquid metal treatment, opting for Kryonaut if it turns out to be made of aluminum. Thanks a bunch in advance!
Do you know if i can install the MSI GAMING X bios in a MSI MECH OC gpu ?
And this comes out when? all these reviews and not one person has said a release date
In France, it is sell for 505€. I don't know how much is it in $, but it's 100€ above the sapphire blower reference which costs 400€, but it is cheaper than a RTX 2070S (530 - 540 for the cheaper)
At the same price and same noise level of a 2070 super reference, besides the more mature drivers, what's the point?
Can you tell me if the MSI RX 5700 XT Gaming X will fit into the NZXT H1?
I need to make a decision by tomorrow (boxing day), the MSI Gaming X or the Sapphire Pulse 5700xt. If anyone has an opinion in the next 24 hours or so that would be great!
I know the Pulse comes with dual bios but really I don't know if I'd ever need that as I have never needed it.
The sweet Marques reference.
Captain America: I understand that reference.
I returned my 5700xt for a 2070 super. First time I've tried amd and it was a terrible experience. I had numerous issues even after 2 driver updates. My 970 was running games ultra smooth with no issues at all! Very happy being back with Nvidia! Having that said, I hope those that went with amd have a better experience.
Please i need your help
Will this card fit into a in win A1 Plus
It's mini itx case..... Somebody help me 😢
does it fit in the Cougar QBX?
i wish the red things was blue, can we paint them? if we can then i think im fell in love with the design of it...
Will it fit in Streacom da2?
Does 4K60 take the same performance as 1440 P 144hz?
it's £399 on amazon uk, but out of stock atm. I got a used one on amz for 370
MSI gaming x is on presale at Scorptect at $779, slightly more expensive than other non-reference card but still significantly cheaper than 2070s in aus.
I just came for the chart data. Thanks bruh
Does this GPU fit the NCASE M1?
Does the Gaming X fit inside the Ncase M1? And if not where does it come into contact with the case?
This would be one of the best options for my future Ncase M1 (v6) Hackintosh build.
Looks like a no on the V6. Even after removing the front I/O you're restricted to 290mm on >2 slot cards, plus i think the height it a problem. Not sure about the v1-5. Let's hope the 5700s are natively supported by Apple, although I doubt we'll get pre 10.15 Catalina drivers...
@@clivesweeting651 According to measurements by igorsLAB the card isn't as big as MSI claims it is. In particular the length appears to be only 278 mm. The height could be a problem but the power connectors are slightly recessed. So as long as the cooler fits it should be possible to connect the card by using some 90° or 180° PCIe power connector adapters.
But I can't be sure and that's why I'm asking here since Optimum Tech has both the card and the case. :)
And yes, I'm placing my hopes in Catalina.

Hum, that card is listed at my local store for 484€. And the Sapphire Nitro is at 499. For some reason the Pulse was at 435, but now its at 445.
Can the RX 5700 XT run three 4k monitors in w10 for non game productivity software?
Sure, can't see why it wouldn't. Older cards could do that, just make sure it has enough HDMI or DisplayPort ports for your needs.
I bought the non XT version of the RX 5700 MSI Gaming X, I put down the maximal fanspeed from 45% (stock) to 35% in the Adrenalin configuration and the highest hotspot temperature was 86 degree, its fking powerfull goodlooking and quiet I am very happy with it
Is there a set release date?
if i oc the 5700 can i reach the xt version performance ?
I consistently see models going for $380.00 in my local area.
Excellent review!
so that's basically the same model but non evoke one?
finally the change the gaming x design, been using that since 9 series
I went with the Gigabyte 2070S Windforce OC. I had been planning to buy 5700XT for two months, eagerly waiting for a 2slot design that would fit my A4-SFX - but I gave up and went to nvidias available tit. I love the card though, runs silent and never exceeds 65°C even under benchmarking and only 80% fan load.
80% triple fan and you still see as high as 65c? Wow I figured it would be lower. Have you messed with undervolting? Bet you could get down to 55c
@@TrevorLahey3 It's in a 7L mini-itx case so that probably has something to do with it, also the card is "slim" only 40mm
IF that price is correct: DoA model, especially given how good the more "basic cooling" models from other brands are.
We need comparison between Gaming X 5700 XT and ROG Strix 5700 XT and Red Devil 5700 XT please :D
So weird.. guru3d said, on shadow of the tomb raider, avg fps is 83(2070s) vs 81(this card).
This card is so underrated on this review...
RX 5700 XT Gaming X for 470€ or the RTX 2070 Super FE for 540€?
Fellow Ncase M1 owner here. Will this fit a M1 without having to bend the GPU power cables to a dangerous extent?
Probably not. I know on the Nvidia side the gaming x line is too wide. The sapphire pulse should fit
Does MSI Radeon RX 5700 XT DirectX 12 RX 5700 XT GAMING X have 16 PCIe lanes?
I just bought a Sapphire Radeon RX 5700 XT 8GB Pulse for 435 euros. People should NOT buy these for more than 450 Euros.
did they fix the driver issues though. My 5700xt crashes every hr on average with 4 bsod's a day in about 5hrs of usage. That's after troubleshooting it in the new build it was meant for, 9900k with z470 board with brand new bios from this year and a more than enough 850w gold psu. Tested it then in my current PC with a 8700k and z370 from rog under a brand new ssd and install of windows. This launch is just plagued with issues that a month and abit later have had little to no updates from AMD. Submitted a million tickets with detailed information, most of which i'm hoping have been read but have received no responses for.
To anyone wondering how then these guys have run their benchmarks with little issues, for some reason the main benchmarking software and in game benchmarks run flawlessly but when you go to play an actual game with natural spikes and dips the firmware or whatever it is controlling the power delivery on the card just can't keep up. If it resets to base you just get a game crash and loss of visuals for a few seconds, when it fails utterly you have to completely reset the PC. I had the card running stock heaven benchmarks the day I got it for hours without fail as a burn in test and I thought I had completely dodged a bullet but little did I know that as soon as I ran SoTR afterwards not benchmark but campaign shit just hit the fan. The card undoubtedly is worth it in the long run, the price to performance is spectacular particularly compared with stuff a few gen back but the software support for it is currently almost non existant.
It crashes with:
It's own control software
Wattman
AMD's in game recording
AMD's monitor auto sharpening tools
Some applications of Freesync
Any game that isn't benchmarked regularly (PUBG is my main one and I got approx 1 FK up everytime I tried to play, ave 4 per 2hr session over a period of 1 week).
Any visual software, (I use wallpaper engine, no bueno don't even try it guys).
Also after restarting this morning I'm getting shrill coil whine just scrolling down in firefox. A proper fly buzzing near your ear level of loud which is also why I have submitted both a refund request to the shop I got it from and a RMA request in case they don't accept.
At the very least you need to fix BSOD's while you're doing nothing, sometimes playing a video or folder is enough to brick the PC. The 5700xt is already out and the 1070ti is back in and 2 days later running smooth as pie as it and the 1060 before it had run for a good near 2 years now.
Please keep this in mind while watching these videos.
Great review
thks 4 the video ! but where is my 5800XT ? we really are waiting another GPU from AMD for years to really compete with the Top Gpus
Going for Sapphire pulse. Around 440$ with tax in India.
Unfortunately this card is way too big for my ITX build 😭. I'm super stoked about AMDs new lineup as are most people and I hope their success continues but I'll be going with the 2070 Super from nVidia this time around.
I really like this design:D it looks great!

whats that keyobard?
This card looks amazing. I just wish they would stop with the red details already or atleast make them replaceable. I know that i'm nitpicking here, but i just strongly dislike forced colors on hardware, like the orange details on older Gigabyte cards and motherboards or the yellow details on TUF motherboards. Anyway, great review as usual :)
It sounds like the Powercolor Red Devil model is the one to beat, especially when it comes to pricing.
rx 5700 red dragon coolest 5700 at now second is pulse from sapphire
The red devil in on pair with gaming x
lol, MSI doing the same mistake with the thermal pads on this card too.
Must be some really expensive thermal pads MSI uses... first the Evoke, now this... why save on the thermal pad.... They know revievers are going to tear them apart, and it can only give bad press, to save less than pennies? I don't understand why they are not just doing it proper from start, even if it doesn't impact performance like it does on Evoke.
Why does it look like The Verge applied thermal paste for MSI on this card. jesus christ
theres some $450 or $460 aftermarket models that have just as good cooling if not better so i dont really get this card lol
wish they came out with something as good as a Radeon Vii
