    I always take pictures of my new succulents. Sometimes I forget how small they used to be. With a photo, I can appreciate how much they have grown over a couple of years.

      It took me a little while to like them haha. I'd still choose Haworthia over them, though. Thank you for watching and commenting, William. Have a wonderful day from Edith & myself 🌵☀️🌼🌸🌺🏜

    I was given a "cactus" by an old lady whose house I cycled past last May. I potted it up in poor soil, left it in a sunny location and forgot about it until November, when I discovered it had grown and produced offsets. I knew it wasn't a cactus but I'm now sure it's a gasteria - about which I previously knew nothing. It's an awesome plant, and I now promise to look after it properly! It'll get repotted in the spring.

    Yes, I love these like I love sansaverias. Tough, easy to grow, don't need a lot of light. And they are very forgiving. You can forget about them and they don't shrivel up and die. Great indoor window plants!!! We have a nice one in our kitchen window. I believe it's a cultivar, can't remember variety. A lot like some of the warty haworthias , Tough as nails!!! We have a small bowl staged up in a tiny window, the largest is a limifolia that is blooming , with a flower stalk too tall for the window!!! 😂 great plants!!! Thanks for sharing these great plants!!! Everyone should have at least one Gasteria!!! From Morris Park in the Ozarks ,to the UK 🇬🇧 and Singapore 🇸🇬 have a great day!!! Peace, Love, Plants!!!!✌️💖🌵🌷🌴🌸🌿🌻🍀🌾💐🌱🌳🌹🪴😃👍

      @Cactimania  5 місяців тому

      I honestly don't think I have any plant that is perfect. It's very difficult to achieve that in this climate. Most of them have little blemishes and imperfections but most of the time that gives them more character. Thanks for watching and commenting 🌵☀️🌼🌺🌸🏜

    Hello there from the Philippines!!!👋👋👋 Just love your cacti & succulent collection😍 . Started being fond of them right before the pandemic. Unfortunately, they didn't thrive well in my environment since I live in the lowlands, while the plants were purchased from growers in the uplands (Benguet) of the Phils, or maybe it's just an excuse on my part since I did not know well enough how to take care of these pretty plants 😄😜I still have some survivors left & will try to revive them as they've proven to b vry hardy even w/o much love & attention for the last 2 years. Thank u for your videos as these have contributed in bringing back my enthusiasm in cacti & succulent gardening. Right now, I'm into orchid growing & they have taken over my small garden😀😀😀

    Gasteria are tough! They are easy and does not demand a lot of care. Have you ever tried cross pollinating Gasteria and Haworthia? I wonder if that is possible. 🤔

    • @Cactimania
      @Cactimania  5 місяців тому +1

      I agree, Ana. It is possible to hybridize them although it can be tricky apparently and I haven't tried it myself. I've never had a Gasteria and Haworthia bloom at the same time to be able to lol. Thanks for watching and commenting as always, Ana. Have a lovely day from Edith & myself 🌵☀️🌼🌺🌸🏜

    This channel never ceases to motivate me to not neglect my repots 😅. Gorgeous healthy plants, amazing how well they're doing despite the small pot. Do you have a recommendation on root trim for Haworthia? I've been repotting some of mine and roots are out of control, can't keep increasing pot size due to limited shelf space 😢. Cheers!

    • @Cactimania
      @Cactimania  5 місяців тому

      Thank you 😊 I've trimmed the roots on Haworthia in the past. I did show that in a few videos on the channel but I can't remember which ones. But trimming the roots is absolutely fine. I'd just recommend treating the cut roots with sulphur powder or cinnamon powder before potting them up and don't water them for a good couple of weeks. Thanks for watching and commenting 🌵☀️🌼🌺🌸🏜

    I have one gasteria that I got last year. It was so root bound in that tiny pot it came in. I repotted it and it exploded in growth and it is so cute. I think mine is little warty. I'm not sure though
