You can also still crouch while being pulled, which improves your accuracy. AI smokers also die after taking 50 damage while pulling someone (Excluding fire damage), so you don't even need to land many shots to free yourself.
Theres a slight misinformation you gave about the military sniper rifle, its inaccuracy only applies during movement, just standing still (no crouch or scoping) is enough to give it dead-on accuracy, hell if you really want to shoot things with it while moving, scope in and you'll have its accuracy back
I like how the M60 - a tier 3 weapon designed to shred zombies at the cost of having a small ammo pool, does less damage than the AK47 and the Magnum Pistol.
I love how this guy starts it video. No intro, no sponsor. Boom! We get right into it. It feels like I'm at the middle of the video everytime I click on one of these, it's great!
Slap a laser sight on a Mac-10 and it becomes a headshot machine for those that can aim with it. Seriously, suddenly the small damage is a non-issue because you only need 3 ammo to headshot kill a common at max, and due to the insane smg firerate every tap of your mouse1 will probably burst 3 bullets anyways.
I don't agree with Dual Pistols. Even if they suck in compare with Magnum or ANY melee. Their primary function - is to be backup weapon. You will not use dual pistols to kill commons or specials with them. You will switch to pistols, because you shoot all magazine from your primary. And if you out of ammo - you still can finish the job. That the primary function that dual pistols have, because count how fast they deploy, and ready to shoot. In case of versatility they still lose to the same Melee, and everything else for a magnum. If i will use dual pistols - its probably because i didn't found those two in the game yet. Dual Pistols should be on B or C but 100% not D.
@@Gookeemcompletely valid point for the dual pistols, the thing is, is that you can almost immediately find a melee in the first chapter completely snuffing out the pistols
@@doubleaa7368 idk i still use them, especially if im using a pump shotgun and i want to have an option to deal with far away threats like a smoker who just pulled my ally or a boomer i can barely see from afar, theyre useful early on
Worth mentioning for the hunting rifle is the fact some maps will make it accessible around the time you're getting tier 1 guns i'd like to say the awp is a low c or high d just because of the breakpoints it can hit in VS; but this obviously requires a lot of aim skill and team cohesion
Laser sights have a 20-25% spawn chance for almost every map, so they're actually pretty common. Chances are you're not checking every location and are just missing them when they do spawn in. If you check every location that can spawn lasers, you have around an 80% chance of ending a campaign with a laser sight.
Ackchyually, the MP5 is an "AK47 of SMGs", according to scripts and my own testing with friend. The MP5 deals 26 damage vs 25 of silenced, and it has a longer range before damage falloff kicks in. The only downside of this weapon is slightly longer reload speed and slightly slower firing speed (MP5's "CycleTime" is 0.075 vs 0.0625 of silenced).
One thing worth mentioning about the Tier 3 weapons is that deployable ammo boxes will restore your current magazine. So with the M60, you can fire 149 rounds, pick up a box of Incendiary or Frag rounds, and now you have another full box mag of ammo to shoot. Doing this with the Grenade Launcher will give you an extra grenade, very helpful in Swamp Fever if someone on your team runs the Launcher since there's tons of Launcher and Ammo box spawns. With this in mind, it's possible to extend the lifespan of these temporary weapons, but it's still very situational to the point that I would still prefer leaving them behind.
One thing ive always liked about l4d2 is that shotguns, while they have quite alot of spread, they do have realistic range (probably like 40 meters if you get lucky with the pellet spread)
If the Last Stand update could buff the pump shotguns’ ammo reserve from 56 to 72, then I feel the M16 could’ve gotten an accuracy or damage buff as well. I can only dream I suppose.
I think m16 just need to pump ammo reserve too to be good. I choose M16 over Ak47 any time, just because it sounds like a power over Ak-47 paperclip gun sound. And m16 is really good at shreding hordes, until you are out of mag ammo. And if you manage mag capacity your overall capacity is same, as Ak-47, which is bs, one of the advantages for 5.56 caliber over 7.62 is you can carry 1.5 times more ammo for a same weight. So, buff capacity to 60/500, and the weapon will shine.
I know the m16 is bad but by far my favorite and just the most satisfying weapon to kill zombies plus it obliterates common infected on easy and normal. I love it so much and If I see it I will always pick it up because it is cool
I like m16 because its rate of fire and lack of recoil makes me feel as though I'm shooting a gatling laser. Also it was one of the main weapons from l4d1 after the auto shotgun
It also shreds on advanced. It's my go-to primary repaired with the fire axe 🪓 also can we all just agree that the fire axe is in S tier melee weapon just based off the fact that every zombie game needs a fire axe and it's just straight up awesome❤
Indeed. So many comments here coping about M16 not being a bad gun is hilarious. Like, the moment the AK is presented on the table, the M16 becomes a joke.
Forgot to mention the niche difference between the Benneli and Spas12: Reload speed. The Benneli M4 slows down when reloading the first shell and speeds back up to the same speed as Spas12’s reload. This small downside makes you lose a lot of dps compared to the Spad12 when you’re spamming 1 shots and reloading right after. It also forces you to time your reload and empty your full 10 shots to optimally deal damage to a horde, making the M4 my less favored shotguns of the game
Got 950 hours on l4d2. Always loved the auto shotguns. And let me tell you something. Placebo is hell of a thing, because i always felt that SPAS has way more spread than m1014, but this tier list vid just flipped the whole world upside down for me😭
The Grenade Launcher is also good for killing Witches if you don't have anyone in the team with a Shotgun. When you hit a Witch with a Grenade Launcher, the blast will stagger the Witch (standing or sitting), during that stagger animation, shove the Witch and the stagger animation will reset. This allows you to kill the Witch with a melee weapon. Just make sure you shove the Witch again after you swing your melee weapon to reset the stagger animation. Normally around 4-5 bonks from any melee will make the Witch kaput.
Honestly I think I'd put the M2 Browning above the gatling gun because its accuracy is actually worth a damn. But with the gatling gun you're not really going to hit anything unless you throw a bile bomb to get all the commons in one place
Agree with most said for a few : -i would group all 3 smg together at Low B tier [really doesn't feel like much of a difference gameplay wise] -Nade launcher at High C [its good at clearing hordes but the swarming nature usually means you'd oof yourself anyways, if you need a horde clearer just pick up throwables] -M16 higher than Scar in B tier [the 3 round burst is quite annoying for me, a faster full auto is better at grazing hordes] -Magnum at low A [it do be good but not that good] -Dual pistols at High C [it works as a pseudo smg especially with a shotgun as primary, but the magnum still outclasses it] -Both bolt snipers at doo-doo water tier [honestly who thought bolt actions for a swarm shooter is a good idea]
If the bolt actions actually did enough damage and had enough accuracy to warrant it, they'd work well and probably place high C to low A depending on your playstyle and team cohesion, since melees/magnum do work well enough vs commons and your team could help with any downsides. The devs really didn't have much foresight when they added the CS weapons (or tbh most of the Tier 3 weapons in general)
He didnt at all. Nobody who plays solo expert realism will tell you the ak47 is better than the autoshotguns, which are practically the same - the spas is better.
They do and both can be 2 shot when aiming for the body. But, the hunter is usually crouched so he is more likely to take 3 shots most of the time. Bullets are more likely to hit his arm or head.

12:59 - The spas and the m4 actually have almost identical spread. They're completely interchangeable in practice, the only notable difference is their appearance. The M16 also has basically the same accuracy as the Ak47, the only difference being it's first-shot spread. Under sustained fire, their spread becomes almost the exact same.
When I play on expert, the first bad habit I had to quit is holding down the fire button. Tapping is much better to get accurate shots which helps in bullet economy and getting those headshots on specials. Once I gotten used to tap-firing, even weapons like SMG and AK becomes so much more accurate I don't even bother picking up M16 if I can help it.
Before this video was released, I really liked the M-16 because of the looks and some other stuff. Now that you released this video and told me about the flaws of the gun, I've changed my opinion of the M16.

I honestly think the SPAS is pretty much in the AK-47’s tier but a different niche, there’s not much that stands a chance against a laser sighted one at close-medium range with it’s ludicrous damage output and good spread I say that as an AK-47 main

every sharp melee is better than every blunt melee except maybe Gclub and tonfa are better than pitchfork Crowbar is good at killing commons with melee switch but worse than katana because harder to tongue cut. Katana third worst sharp melee knife and machete are just better and axe with melee switch is the best melee but without it's worse than katana Blunt weps order would look smthn like Shovel, pan, bat, guitar, cricket bat,and then Gclub and tonfa can be better than one another depending on if you melee switch
@@idkwhatmynameis7326 The crowbar isn't worse at cutting tongues, it's weakness is a slow attack speed combined with a low amount of hitrays, which makes it pretty unreliable. The Katana and Golf Club also suffer from hitreg issues, since a chunk of the hitrays on the right side will randomly get skipped. The Knife is also better than the axe; It has all the same stats, but it's faster and has a wider swing.
@@JAiZUA-cam this is with taking melee switch into account yes the axe is better than the knife because you can shove quicker after a killed common by switching, crowbar has slow swing speed but the part that's specifically more slow about it is how slow it moves across screen after you click, which is why it's worse at tongue cuts because when a smoker sees you in close distance with crowbar it can be impossible to tongue cut, also I know no hitbox issues with club or katana because I used console commands to fix hitboxes, havent seen this "skip" before?

On higher difficulty, such as Hard Six or Hard Eight, both semi-auto sniper rifles are KING and QUEEN of all the weapons, because Snipers has ZERO damage fall-off unlike others. +Example: - AK47: 58dmg/10meters - 50dmg/30meters - Hunting Rifle: 90dmg/10meters - 90dmg/30meters +The snipers are *NECESSARY* on higher difficulty if you are hardcore about not having anyammo mod, which is also why they're the best weapon for ammo economy and efficiency, because spawn timer of enemies on H6/H8 are significantly shorter: - Normal SI spawn timer: 28-sec/3-SI/per-wave - Hard 6/8 SI spawn timer: 14s-sec/6-or-8-SI/per-wave

Something I never knew after YEARS of playing L4D2, is that if you're using a shotgun and crouch while firing - ONE buckshot pellet will always land dead center of your crosshair. It's not insanely beneficial, but I've used that trick for breaking Smoker tongues, setting off explosives, or picking off commons at a distance! Also I never understood how good the bullet penetration was on the snipers. So if you get a horde coming at you in a tight formation, one bullet can potentially take out a LOT of common infected. So I'm much less inclined to spam the trigger nowadays now that I know that. Great video! I learned a lot from it :) keep it up!
Nah, this ain't it chief. AK47 is cool but tactical shotgun, any available 1 tier weapons and fireaxe or magnum pistol is my go to if there's no military snipers or hunting rifle. When some of my teammates have the shotguns, I tend to use snipers to repel long range situations, especially if they got caught by smokers or hunters when they go a bit far from the team. This synergy work in campaigns too, not just in versus mode. But yeah, its up to personal preference when it comes to that. P.S. saw clips of skilled players using scout on versus and won rounds with it. Its on the player skill, not on the weapons (with a few certain exceptions, yeah I'm talking to you M60 and chainsaw.).
As a military sniper main for the last 12 years, I 100000% agree with this video. Also, I always played this game with a friend who loves the AK-47 in every game possible, so he'd always use the AK and the two of us would become a freaking powerhouse.
Don't forget about the handguns: The Deagle reloads faster if you don't completely empty the clip. And if you have to carry standard pistols temporarily due to circumstances: just take one. It's way more accurate than using the pair, and the smaller number of available bullets is negated by how stupidly fast the single regular pistol reloads.
The Mac 10 is extremely underrated on expert realism, really useful for commons on headshots equipped with lasers you can use that gun whole game if you want. I pretty much always pick the AK on versus mode, on expert realism I like to be versatile either auto shotgun or Mac 10, magnums for auto shotty and melee for the SMG depending on my ping

Ive always got the AK47 modded to be the AN94 from Black Ops 2 specifically. Doesnt change the stats at all, but it looks and sounds nostalgic & badass as hell.
They really ported bolt action rifles eith no thought behind them they could give them some insane headshot multiplier, like 5x more damage - it would fit an accurate weapon and also promote team play - some would pick regular guns for crowd control while other this for specials and tank
I think its best not to take into account "friendly fire", as that depends on the player's perception and skill rather than the gun itself, so I wouldn't really make that much of a con for the Scar
I didn't even know the shotguns had differences, that laser sights made guns more accurate, and that melee weapons actually had differences very good video
I remember when the m16 used to be able to fully dump its full clip in one release due to a glitch. Glad they fixed that bug but damn did it make the gun OP
Back when I love M16A2 but the damage wasn't good so now I preferred the AK because its all straight as male as long as you hold shift as you full auto.
Valve shouldve made both bolt action snipers deal at least double the damage they do now when they added them to the game and have half the mag size. Then it would ve amazing for taking down specials. It also should 1 shot commons and have double the penetration of magnum. This way it could be okay at fighting off commons in tight corridors.
The AK-47 has always been my go-to primary weapon. Not only is it effective, but it feels so satisfying to use. And an AK with a laser sight? As long as you're a decent player, and don't encounter bad luck, you've basically won.

It didn't occur to me that being pulled by a Smoker decreases accuracy. That would explain why they seem tanky when being pulled.
Toooo be fair the m60 oneshots commons throughout all modes
Less damage than the Magnum does make sense in a balancing context but doing less than the AK-47 is ludicrous
You're pretty much unstoppable when you have laser sight ak47. I remember taking down 57 tanks in tank run

There are only 2 weapons in the game: The AK47 and the rest.
Worth mentioning for the hunting rifle is the fact some maps will make it accessible around the time you're getting tier 1 guns
i'd like to say the awp is a low c or high d just because of the breakpoints it can hit in VS; but this obviously requires a lot of aim skill and team cohesion
The video could have ended 0:18 and would have gotten the same effect
And that’s all a YT viewer can ask for.
Laser sights are so hard to find unless you play dead center :(
They are almost as rare as GS552s hence people don't like the gun i guess.
Laser sights have a 20-25% spawn chance for almost every map, so they're actually pretty common. Chances are you're not checking every location and are just missing them when they do spawn in.
If you check every location that can spawn lasers, you have around an 80% chance of ending a campaign with a laser sight.
I get a laser every campaign. Just gotta look everywhere
We really getting uploades left and right and im all for it.
You really just makes my day better with these vids Nas. Keep up the good work mate :)
What's funny if you can circumvent the short range of shotgun with slugs irl. But I guess that's only in L4D1.

There's only 2 reasons I use pistols over melee:
I run out of ammo/I'm cornered, and
"Switching to your pistol is always faster than reloading."
It's usually the opposite for me. Use pistols first then switch to primary. That works really well with the shotgun and deagle combo.

Jokes aside, honestly a great tier list, and I appreciate the little message at the end!
Honestly I think I'd put the M2 Browning above the gatling gun because its accuracy is actually worth a damn. But with the gatling gun you're not really going to hit anything unless you throw a bile bomb to get all the commons in one place
Agree with most said for a few :
-i would group all 3 smg together at Low B tier [really doesn't feel like much of a difference gameplay wise]
-Nade launcher at High C [its good at clearing hordes but the swarming nature usually means you'd oof yourself anyways, if you need a horde clearer just pick up throwables]
-M16 higher than Scar in B tier [the 3 round burst is quite annoying for me, a faster full auto is better at grazing hordes]
-Magnum at low A [it do be good but not that good]
-Dual pistols at High C [it works as a pseudo smg especially with a shotgun as primary, but the magnum still outclasses it]
-Both bolt snipers at doo-doo water tier [honestly who thought bolt actions for a swarm shooter is a good idea]
mmm doodoo water
If the bolt actions actually did enough damage and had enough accuracy to warrant it, they'd work well and probably place high C to low A depending on your playstyle and team cohesion, since melees/magnum do work well enough vs commons and your team could help with any downsides. The devs really didn't have much foresight when they added the CS weapons (or tbh most of the Tier 3 weapons in general)

On what difficulties/modes?
I have a friend who is a very good shot with both the Uzi and Suppressed Mac-10, to the point where he completely forgoes Tier 2 weapons on Realism and always gets consistent headshots. He's no spray and pray guy either.

Can you do a melee tier list?
Same, I'm curious to see the differences of melee weapons can be since there are like 10+ melees ingame
every sharp melee is better than every blunt melee except maybe Gclub and tonfa are better than pitchfork
Crowbar is good at killing commons with melee switch but worse than katana because harder to tongue cut. Katana third worst sharp melee knife and machete are just better and axe with melee switch is the best melee but without it's worse than katana
Blunt weps order would look smthn like
Shovel, pan, bat, guitar, cricket bat,and then Gclub and tonfa can be better than one another depending on if you melee switch

Fire Axe, Katana: S tier
Everything else: D tier
Chainsaw: F tier
We kind of already have a video talking about melee weapons.
Do not forget that the AK 47 also has the ability to oneshot a special infected via headshots
On higher difficulty, such as Hard Six or Hard Eight, both semi-auto sniper rifles are KING and QUEEN of all the weapons, because Snipers has ZERO damage fall-off unlike others.
+Example:
- AK47: 58dmg/10meters - 50dmg/30meters
- Hunting Rifle: 90dmg/10meters - 90dmg/30meters
+The snipers are *NECESSARY* on higher difficulty if you are hardcore about not having anyammo mod, which is also why they're the best weapon for ammo economy and efficiency, because spawn timer of enemies on H6/H8 are significantly shorter:
- Normal SI spawn timer: 28-sec/3-SI/per-wave
- Hard 6/8 SI spawn timer: 14s-sec/6-or-8-SI/per-wave
Also both sniper rifles basically one-shot every SI if headshot, with consistent aim is literally unstoppable

@@user-gr3yc3km1k yea, besides shotgun, most full-auto weapons in this game can perform well if you can CONSISTENTLY headshotting SI at reasonable range, and that's all you can do with your primary on higher difficulty.
For common infected you must have melee to fend off for yourself.
For semi-auto shotguns it's a very good weapon for crescendo events with tight corners and little wiggle room for sniping, but other than that you should just Snipers only.
@@buunyeak8467 Also if you can't 2-tap Chargers on the head with Snipers before it screams at you, then you can certainly headshot the Charger with your melee in its mid-charge.
Another way of conserving your ammo and test your ping.

Yup. He's made that weapon work. I still think it's way too hard to use though. And not worth it.
Back when I love M16A2 but the damage wasn't good so now I preferred the AK because its all straight as male as long as you hold shift as you full auto.
Remember, switching to your secondary is always faster than reloading in tough situations.
To be fair to the m16 I think its role is more suppressing firebullet hose then anything zombie killing machine.
The AK-47 has always been my go-to primary weapon. Not only is it effective, but it feels so satisfying to use. And an AK with a laser sight? As long as you're a decent player, and don't encounter bad luck, you've basically won.
