Elderberry ( lat. Sambucus nigra ) , along with chamomile, is one of the oldest medicinal herbs. The flowering period begins in June and the fruits ripen in September. Almost all parts of elderberry are used medicinally. It stimulates the excretion of sweat and urine, so its use is recommended for swelling caused by kidney disorders or as an aid in the initial stages of diabetes. There is a proverb that says that you should take off your hat in front of an elderberry bush because it cures ten diseases.
