Thats a fresh water drum as you said. A sheepshead is a salt water only fish.

I would agree with your comment about sheepshead only being a Florida fish or saltwater fish as I am originally from Florida for the first 30 years of my life. But what I’ve come to find out is I was incorrect, and that the freshwater drum up here is also named formally the sheepshead if you Google it, you might be shocked like I was. there are now two different types of sheepshead in the world.😳

Sheepshead is what they are called in the midwest, as we definitely don't have any saltwater sheepshead nearby.
