  • On June 25th 2021, I was conducting a 1st Amendment Audit on the Newburgh Police Department in Newburgh, NY. As I was peacefully exercising my rights, two officers made contact. These officers were tyrants and ignorant of the law and constitution they swore to uphold. Thankfully, the Sgt. arrives and the whole dynamic changes...If you feel the need to redress your government regarding this incident, relevant contact information is below:
    Newburgh Police Department
    Bruce Campbell, Police Chief

    Officers Involved:
    Sergeant Sluszka
    Officer Kuhne, Shield # 170
    Officer Geyer, Shield # 24

      I want to believe that sergeant, but there's been too many times watching a sergeant say one thing and doing another, plus a concerns me that his officers doesn't know what reasonable articulate suspicion is, which means these officers are detaining people for no reason whatsoever.

      @andydouglass1374 2 роки тому +26

      To be fair, I think he was nitpicking over the "articulable" part just to be argumentative (like the shoe lace thing), since many jurisdictions and case law just use "reasonable suspicion" such as the landmark Terry v. Ohio case which is arguably the most important case law pertaining to police contacts and detainment. I personally think that "articulable" is clumsy and redundant when used in conjunction with reasonable in the context of law enforcement.

      Agreed. The sergeant was good in many ways and definitely helped, but listening was NOT one of the good things he did. Like most officers (sadly) he interrupted and over talked Sean most of the time. He did get the bulk of the points and it worked, but he missed 90% of what Sean had to say! And he COULD have gleaned some really valuable information if he could just shut up for longer than 15 seconds. I couldn’t do what Sean does, that shit would drive me insane - I’d be in jail for slapping cops every time they wouldn’t shut TF up! 🤣😜🤪

      @@boringpolitician "suspicion" is not clearly defined to them and gets them in trouble every time. Also, "cooperative" get them in trouble a lot. "Cooperative" tries to come to a common solution. Never once does the officer say what the goal is. The officer wants to put him in jail, the auditor wants to be left alone. Doesn't look like they have a common goal, and will never find a solution until the officer breaks the rules.

      When a cop says that something is "not normal" they should be asked if they have a degree in psychology to make the determination of what normal is.

    The Sergent knows what's up. I feel a little better. Hopefully he educates the two rookies.

    These departments are crawling with so many of these “Don't yous guys miss da old neighborhood?" type of officers. Always coming in hot with shitty attitudes and high school bully/gang mentalities. The moment they approached you, they viewed you as nothing but an enemy and a perpetrator. Shameful and disgraceful, the whole lot. Keep up the great work, Sean!

    At the end when you zoomed in on the female officer walking into the department I was really hoping she would turn around and start the interaction all over again lol.

    The other disturbing part of this video is when Geyer started going down the road that he tried to act as though they had to protect you in that lot bc your shoes were untied - and he started to try to turn that into a play where I believe he was going to arrest you on that basis. Had the sargeant not come out, I fully believe Geyer would have played that ridiculous game and it would have gone from detention to effective kidnapping. It's disturbing.

    Sarge seemed decent. That dismissal was gold though

      No doubt. Sarg was cool but those officers was assholes. If you didn't have a video u would of been arrested and charged with a slew of shit.
