- Fellow Patriots & Freedom lovers, I was peacefully exercising my 1st Amendment Rights at the Shelby County Correctional Facility in Tennessee. While conducting my audit I ran into several public servants who had obviously had zero knowledge about our rights. I was told several times that I would be arrested and my freedom taken from me for taking pictures in public. The award for the most childish and ignorant of our rights goes to Internal Affairs Investigator Deon. I have run into a lot of ignorant public servants but Deon might just take the cake. He was so condescending and childish I can’t see how he can objectively investigate corrupt Correctional Officers. He needs to be held accountable and retrained!
Lastly, I also want to shout out & commend the Shelby County Sheriffs Deputy who arrived on the scene, he was obviously well trained in our rights and honored his oath to uphold the U.S Constitution! The ignorance happens when they lower test scores to a failing grade. 57% to pass a test were everyone else "non affirmative action hires" need 70% or higher for a passing score.

Deon is the definition of who we don’t need with a badge.
Like I've said before, they should allow Public review of Officers and the Department's to see what they're doing and how they're doing it. If the review says this or that person did this and that. Then they could be subject to being kicked off the force, as it is tax money funded and also servants of the people. The people should also have the right just like a County Sheriff to keep or dismiss.
It wasn't much of a badge. Just an employee of Division of Corrections. Badge says "Special Officer" (given to correctional employees), off duty only, and no handgun permit (and you can see has no handgun on him).

Gotta admit that the Captain was VERY professional unlike the other guy.
100% but he was also informed by the officer in the van. You have to remember they are interacting with inmates most of the the day so their first response is to show dominant confidence. But he was willing to listen the second time he approached Sean. On the other hand Deon has the task to check the behaviors of the officers inside. So that’s a major red flag!

It's kind of disconcerting that the internal affairs who's supposed to investigate officers from breaking the law breaks the law and the correctional officer who he's supposed to be over is cordial and respects your rights

Internal Affairs does NOT investigate cops breaking the laws. They have even stated they don’t care about that. IA is more akin to HR and only care about if their policies are upheld. If the department policy is in contrary to the law, the IA will uphold as justified with no marks on the officers record.
Deon should be demoted and retrained. That behavior is incredibly disturbing, to think an internal investigator has zero professionalism.

My Dad always said it was better to keep your mouth shut and appear ignorant than to open it and prove it. I think that was what Dion did. LOL The guy in the van was at least kinda courteous, the officer in the Green outfit was very respectful human being, he didn't say too much at all, thats what you do when your not sure you get the facts and then proceed in the right way, he did that I have a huge amount of respect for a person of integrity, Sean as usual you were very calm and assertive all at the same time. Big ups to you for all you do, and do it in the right way.
What I've learned watching this man's videos, is that most public servants, whether they wear a badge, or not, are working under the false impression that they have way more power than they actually have.
This audit went very well.
Even those that were ignorant to your rights, didn't escalate it to places that so many other places you've been have done.
Overall, they did a decent job with this.
More likely they don’t understand or are ignorant of what auditing is and they treat the auditor as a potential threat or a disturbance. More people need to be aware of auditing as a phenomenon.

I thought the captain was actually very polite and professional. He was unsure what was going on but after doing an investigation he realized Long Island audits was allowed. He kept his demeanor in check.
Completely agree! The Captain did such a good job, polite, and open minded.
I have to mention that the Capt didn't start out being cordial. When Sean first asked him "..are you his superior?" the reply, "I'm one of the Captains, yes". Sean asks again - "..but are you this officer's superior?" He then repeats "I'm one of the Captains", without actually answering Sean's question directly. Even though the Captain eventually de-escalated his approach, this attitude should not be so easily dismissed.

As children we never realized how important they are. I really hate it the more that African Americans don't know this. And it's so easy to "Google it!" Go to the library and research some of this so you won't embarrass yourselves. Watching these audit videos especially this auditor I have become more aware and versed in my constitutional rights. Why would you not?!😢 I'm embarrassed for Shelby County and African Americans.
The IA officer must think we are all inmate. Therefore, he feels justified in behaving so disrespectfully towards private citizens.
If Deon is in internal affairs, I feel sorry for the inmates and anyone that he comes in contact with, on and off the job. Deon seems to like to throw his weight around.

I refuse to watch the trouble makers and disrespectful auditors. I just can't understand why they think it's OK to act like they do. They are just as bad, if not worse than the officials they are trying to expose. I get it that the officials are working in an official capacity and should be held to a higher standard but having said that, "We The People" need to set an example for those that we're holding accountable. A lawyer spends, at minimum, 7 years in college to get a law license and must pass one of the hardest test there is the bar exam. A police officer spends 3 months in an academy and less than one third of that time is studying the law. Then they are protected in the field from their own failures of violating the laws and rights of the people. This is a travesty and the only ones who suffer are the public. Sad.

I disagree. The Captain did the minimal. It's an improvement but it's the 1st amendment. If he was a good Captain it would have ended when he arrived. I should not know more about the law than the Captain.

He was then more than happy to help Sean get what he needed. He’ll remember this the next time he sees someone filming in public and will be even better next time. The Captain was willing to learn, do better and is in a position to pass that down.
