My Mate Dave had one of those Pace Frames, he spent a solid year building it & it was FLAWLESS, not a single penny scrimped anywhere & you could hear him coming a mile away with his Chris King Hubs, he had Chris King everything tbf at a time in my life when I was day dreaming about having a CK Headset? He had the whole kit! It rode better than any bike I had ever touched at that point too! Absolute GEM of a Frame that one Ali!
Oh it's been YEARS since I've been to radical bikes / barrow farm. Such a great bike park full of the nicest riders. Cool that you got to session it, Ali
Thanks for this video Ali. I'm also 203cm (6 feet 8 inches tall) I'm happy to see a rider who has the same heigth. I had a Koxx Marc Vinco with "only" 1115mm WB back in 2004-2006. That was the bike fit my size. Now I got a Crewkerz Cleep long but only with 1083mm WB I also like it a lot mostly its stiffness. It could be interesting to try this Geo. :)
@@Ali_Clarkson Yeah man, evrytime i stuck them on any trials bike i had, they just made it pop. Had a set a set on my polished ali echo with white forks. Looked the tits! Ha
Awesome video al👍👌 Really enjoyed the different styles in group, lots to take in and a whole lot of fun! Tonight (00.50) I'll bed down with a smile for once.. Cheers bro👍👌
Hey dude, saw two of Danny’s ebikes today at Elevation Cycles...Fraser helped me get back on the road. Amazing riding as usual....hope you’re well, all the best from your sketchiest Deliveroo rider.
Very nice mix of bikes and riders. Is the up to front 180 to rear easier than just hopping up to rear? example 4:20 I realy like the fluid motion and style of the technique even if it is easier...
I always forgot that people from the UK look at distances differently. For example, Glasgow to Portsmouth is about the same distance apart as the two ends of I-25 in New Mexico where I live, and that would be an easy drive.
@@Ali_Clarkson WHAAAAAT??? I got a reply from the MAN himself, woohoo. and it was definitely worth it Ali, all your videos are. Respect to all the work you put in, the way you never give up truly inspired me. Much love.
Would love to see you go and film some stuff with Martyn Ashton calling out lines for you, especially while you have the Justice. Maybe call by Bath on your way back north? :)
People in the comments have already remembered original Koxx Marc Vinco frame that had 1115mm wheelbase but I want to remember another frame that was considered one of the longest around 2005-2006 - BT RAVen 6.0 long. It's wheelbase measured at 1100mm without fork and 1115mm with Echo/Zoo!/Gu 400mm forks of that time. Rafal Klisinski (owner of BTbikes?) used to ride that RAVen 6.0 long frame and it was still a bit short for him IMO, even with mod stem. Speaking of BTbikes. Ali, do you remember an experimental frame called BT Ninja that had CS at 365mm (shortest CS on a stock frame ever)? I've never seen this frame in action, only photos. Maybe you can find it somewhere someday and make a video. :)
I remember the Ninja yeah! I always thought it'd ride really badly having a high bb and chainstays that short, some people could ride it well but I'm pretty sure I'd hate it :P
Hi Ali, do you have any experience with knee/shin pads? I've been considering some for a while, but they either feel bulky, heavy and not so comfortable or they don't seem to cover enough of your body to provide acceptable level of protection for me. The last night I landed my first footjam tailwhip, but my legs took quite a lot of beating in the process, so here I am yet again thinking about some extra protection. I think everyone who ever owned platforms with metal pins can relate to the pain of missing the pedals and sliding down those pins. Do you think it would be better to get a 2in1 or get them separately? Some of my friends have been using football shin pads and they were doing well, especially for their price, it's just their size I'm concerned about. btw. congrats on nearly 100k subs and prepare some nice place for your upcoming silver button :D
I'm not a huge fan of them for trials as they distract me and it's an extra step needed before getting out riding (plus they can be uncomfortable and sweaty). If you want something slim then check out the G-Form pads, they're the only ones I've used for trials in the past (there may be other options out now) and were pretty decent!
@@Ali_Clarkson He sure is🚀 I loved your riding too tho😅 But really like that you include comp riders and even ride comp bikes every now and then since its that part of Trials i love the most! Keep it up Ali youtube needs your riding💃
I think it would've been nice to see a bit more ingenuity rather than taking ideas from other bikes (and web sites) but at the same time competition can be healthy and push new ideas, maybe they can come up with something a bit more unique in the future though
Ali Clarkson yeah I was thinking pretty much the same. Most of them just look like a straight copy from the inspired geometry. I have to say though a full carbon for the masses is awesome
How can I get in Contact with Jason Lake. I am also a really big (german) guy 6,9. Or is there a contact or homepage to Xorpio ? Would be great to get some Informations
I think it can limit the size you can go but good technique and explosive power will still allow you to get up some big stuff, Marc Caisso wasn't the tallest dude but kicked ass at the UCI comps in the 2000s
You’ve totally lost me on what bikes you actually own and didnt build for others. I remember the Pace from when i was about school leavers age, pretty sure i saw it in mbuk or some such magazine, and used to walk past a pashley in a shop window next to one of the more traditional pashley bikes. Thats my style of bike!
my son was upset you never tuck a photo with him. we came when you were working on your bike and you wasnt (at that moment) in the mood for a 10year old going on about his illness been overcome part thanks to watching your vids in bed and hopping to be as good as you one day.. never mine, hes gotten over you .. started smoking weeed an steeling bikes to fund his habit.. oh well , if only you were in a better mood!?! he'd still be alive today.. that was 15 years ago you must remeber him??
So glad to see you got your channel back. UA-cam just wasn't the same without your positive friendly attitude.
aw thanks man :)

Freaking awesome selection of bikes! going to sit down with a drink to watch this.

it can be easier but it depends on the person, obstacle
Nice gravity defying stuff on the orange peril, next week take it to The Antiques Roadshow?!!
Seriously though, awesome content on the channel 👏
I think I've reduced it's value a little in the last few weeks haha
I always forgot that people from the UK look at distances differently. For example, Glasgow to Portsmouth is about the same distance apart as the two ends of I-25 in New Mexico where I live, and that would be an easy drive.
yeah I've heard that said before. People in USA and Australia wouldn't think twice about a 4 hour drive whereas here that's a big journey

Waiting for this

I'd love that too! I've been home for a couple of weeks now though, maybe a future trip perhaps if he's free and up for it
So I ride bmx, this is my first like intro into this style of bikein and I think I’m hooked already yo this is way sicker then freestyle bmx
Trials is definitely fun but you have to be patient to get over the initial difficulty!
so close to 100 000 subs
a couple of weeks and I'll be there if I don't get hacked again :p
Awesome
I liked Chris Akrigg he was quite an aggressive trials rider and very skillful

speaking about longest frame. How about KOXX Marc Vinco 1st gen?
It had "only" 1115mm long WB. :)
Yes they was a long beast but low bb if I remember right .
@@tattoochez BB height was +80mm in 2004-2006 that was the frame with the highest BB. Check my videos here on UA-cam that I made at that time. :)
Was it really? That’s mad I didn’t know that I thought they was like 40/50 height

i still have my giant acid what an epic trials bike still
You should hit the dirtjumps on a trials bike

Do they always have music playing out loud? That would be so annoying, especially when it's so tinny.
I've only been there when it's been a bigger ride/event and yes they had music playing but I'm not sure if they do on more normal days
