Jordan Peterson is such a good dude and I was happy Theo had him on man, such a great segment. As far as "Darkness" goes just look at how nasty people were to Mr. Peterson when he had his health condition. The man's wife sits withering away from cancer, nearly dead and he was trying to hold it all down for his lectures, interviews, books (its his career after all..) And so a Dr. had him on Xanax which was having an adverse reaction on him & resulted in making him MORE anxious and ill feeling..this nearly destroyed the man! So instead of people being supportive or at least maybe trying to find the truth, they hop on social media and their self centered blogs etc calling the man a "drug addict" and loser, failure among other really nasty things. That alone shows you just how dark and lost so many ppl are...to attack Mr. Peterson, a man who has helped literally MILLIONS of people around the world, with such baseless and false claims should tell us all about those living around us. Literally, if you look at global poverty & hunger over the past 30 years, or how often wars occur compared to a century ago. So it's not purely a moral statement; even statistically human values are growing stronger every year. It's just that, as Jordan says, "the dark is plenty dark". We started in the state of nature, which is almost unimaginably brutal and painful to us today. So light is winning, but there was a _lot_ of ground to cover.
Keeping that “inner beast” placated and quiet is prioritized number one for me. Because when it’s awake, oh mercy heavens is it fun, but it’s simultaneously makin a mess that sometimes cannot be cleaned up or, best case, is very difficult to clean up. I swear it’s like Smaug is sleeping in my head sometimes. LOTS of meditation, seeking inner peace and NO BOOZE have proven to be quite the effective sedative.

I dont get the people who attack Peterson "the man", rather than his ideas. Its like finding out that a knight in suit and armor is actually a man with red blood underneath, so you no longer consider him a hero. Anyone of us can become dependent on a drug which a doctor that you trust has given you for years. Im actually proud he didn't just lie and cover up his issues like the hollywood world often does.
A legend in my eyes man, guys been through a lot and he shares his experiences so others can have an understanding if they ever find themselves in the same situation plus his overall desire to teach and help he’s a great guy
We don’t have to attack “the man,” red meat did that for us. Outside of his premises that: 1. you need to find ways to understand and maybe even enjoy the difficult things in life to ultimately enjoy a more complete life. 2. You can’t expect to solve other people’s issues while you can’t even “clean your room.” The rest is just bible babble for people who want to feel superior to religious nuts while following the same stories and principles
I wouldn't waste your time worrying about people that hate Peterson and neither should he. He is an incredible scholar, has helped more people than some would care to imagine and should he feel content that he has a substantial following of good minded people.

Wow this is one of my favorite bits of a conversation I think I've ever heard so much power and truth in the words, the back and fourth is very entertaining and enlightening. So glad that two of my favorite people to watch and listen got together and manifested this gem of a conversation. Incredible, thank you Theo thank you Jordan I have so much love and respect for the two of you, what a treat this was.
I totally agree with this. I had a heart attack 5 years ago. The lows I have gone are indescribable but the light I saw during my heart attack left me with an awareness that what is beyond is so real. I talk about it and even my own words sound so deep and sad. But its also amazing beyond words. I think it is the pull between the two worlds. It breaks my heart to look beyond, I am so attached to those here and chose not to leave. But Oh my God! There is so much beyond this world. I can't really talk about it without crying. For the deepest low, there is that much highest high.
Jordan is amazing!! "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it." John ch 1
Only when i started to read obssesively about serial killers and true crime, that i understood the real value of the happy moments i experienced with my family. So i totally get Dr. Peterson's point, light is much bigger than darkness!
Light is so powerful. I remember camping in the woods and walking back to my campsite at night. I turned my headlamp off for a second and I was surrounded in darkness. I turned it on again and it brightened up everything around me. It was more than enough for me to find my way, all from that little headlamp that must’ve been about an inch in diameter. There’s an abundance of darkness all around us. It’s amazing to see how just a small amount of light can be enough to find your way. Even just a little tiny light can be enough to stay on track.
This conversation reminds me of the heart of darkness. Once you lose fear of consequences you’ll become your basic self. Good and evil are matters of opinion but being decent is the toughest construct to form in yourself
JP: "The holy grail is the cup that held Christ's blood or he drank from during the last supper or something." Theo: "Yeah with Indiana Jones!" JP: "Exactly"
The reason I love Theo Von is because his brain naturally goes to hilarious places. He is talking about someone who killed someone and called them a Slytherin lmao
To me this sounds very genuine to his experience. JP has been through dark things and they had miraculous outcomes. I genuinely wonder if he’d still be saying exactly this if say, his wife had died, he hadn’t been able to get off those horrible meds successfully, his daughter never recovered.
This is a great talk. What an oddball yet perfect match between Theo and Jordan.......The light is lighter than the dark is dark. But you have to work at it. It doesn't just happen on its own. You have to embrace the light. You have to open yourself up to the light. And you have to do that work which is in line with the light.

@@josephunderwood5703 Has your friend been thoroughly checked out by a doctor? "Re-living" traumatic memories sounds pathological and its an indicator that he has not been able to break through these memories and emotions. Trauma/PTSD is a memory corruption, the brain threats the emotional content that comes from the memories as if its occurring in the present. It's a vicious cycle because if you re-live the experience you add another layer of negative emotion on top of it and reinforce the traumatic memory.

Theo’s got such a good energy man I don’t think he gets enough credit.

As soon as Theo told him "his old friend killed someone" - Peterson began evaluating whether or not Theo was 'that old friend'. Look at his eyes after.

@@IsraelCountryCube what
The chemistry between these two is insane. Never would have guessed.
Im glad he's back. Ignore the hate Theo and Jordan!
Yeah and the really striking thing is that a lot of these people strongly claim moral superiority and to be bastions of compassion and empathy. True evil always masquerades as good.

Everyone here suffering and things not going the way they should or are in their own dark place. The light is winning guys, stay strong. Do not give up.

A legend in my eyes man, guys been through a lot and he shares his experiences so others can have an understanding if they ever find themselves in the same situation plus his overall desire to teach and help he’s a great guy
people dont understand how he wears his issues as an armor. He is not weakend by it.
We don’t have to attack “the man,” red meat did that for us.
Outside of his premises that:
1. you need to find ways to understand and maybe even enjoy the difficult things in life to ultimately enjoy a more complete life.
2. You can’t expect to solve other people’s issues while you can’t even “clean your room.”
The rest is just bible babble for people who want to feel superior to religious nuts while following the same stories and principles
I wouldn't waste your time worrying about people that hate Peterson and neither should he. He is an incredible scholar, has helped more people than some would care to imagine and should he feel content that he has a substantial following of good minded people.
Look at all of the celebrities that have had to rehab and people worship Charlie Sheen, Steve-O and so many others. These people that preach against Peterson are either up tight stick up your ass straight lacers or liberal, same class of people.

Only when i started to read obssesively about serial killers and true crime, that i
understood the real value of the happy moments i experienced with my family.
Even a little light can be enough to stay in track 🥰 thanku that is my light of my day today :)

This is a great talk. What an oddball yet perfect match between Theo and Jordan.......The light is lighter than the dark is dark. But you have to work at it. It doesn't just happen on its own. You have to embrace the light. You have to open yourself up to the light. And you have to do that work which is in line with the light.
“Things don’t know how to be good.” Love that statement.

Glad to see Jordan Peterson; I am assuming, recovered from his recent health problems. He's a good human.
Huh. So his natural human bodily health? Well most smart people die. Because they mainly work smarter not stronger. Sadly. But at least theyre intelligent people.
I've been watching "Cobra Cai" Netflix series and it got me thinking a lot about J Peterson talks about. The plot is about resentment, maturity, anger, the complex opposition of good Vs evil, ¿Anyone else?
