Reasons: Lack of training, lack of information, lack of system understanding, inadequate tooling, unwillingness to learn and improve, etc. Where I am there is a thriving industry in removing dpfs and deleting the software. Around here workshops dont diagnose anything, the 7k scantool is used as a codereader and the dtc is then googled looking for a silver bullet. Sigh...😕😕😕
Thanks for this mate. My MQ is cycling the DPF cycle every few days and I am changing oil about every 6k as I a getting high oil level warnings. Seems like I need someone to do this to mine.
Hi team, where are you based? You sound like the knowledge and expertise I’ve been searching for to fix my DPF issues on my 2016 mq Triton. I’ve been sent in circles and wasted money on dpf full cleans, regenerations, oil changes, etc.. only to have my dpf light appear again after a year. Apparently no faults are showing when hooked up to the computer so I’m getting pointed to an auto-electrician. My gut feeling this isn’t the solution. Definitely something not right as there is loss of power and unable to maintain consistency while driving. Please help! Thanks
Hi do you have a shop in Sydney or do you recommend someone you'd know.. Mitsubishi work shop hasn't been able to fix my triton mq 2016 for the 5th time.. I am getting tired of this issue.. your help is appreciated.. cheers
Do you guys by any chance have a shop in Brisbane? Very desperate for my DPF to be fixed and have been running around circles here in Brisbane wasting money on every mechanic shop in town. Or if anyone could recommend any good, knowledgeable mechanics here in Brisbane that could help me please.
what are the chemicals you sed on the dpf and are they available to buy to try this at home ? most shops here wont try the diagnostic process, just want the money for a new dpf
Hi Team, Thanks providing such an useful information around the DFP problem. I currently have the flasshing DPF light on my 2017 Triton and I'm based in Canberra. Will you be able to recommend anyone in around Canberra or Sydney? To carry out the diagnosis and fix the issue. Thanks in Advance.
Is it normal for there to be a little white smoke during regen while accelerating from a stand still? No codes, no running issues, no lights on the dash. It’s been happening for at least 30,000km
I have a 2016 mq triton that's been off the road for over two years because Mitsubishi servicing failed the process multiple times costing me a fortune. Had to buy a cheap car for work. Was just out of warranty when issues started. Now iam sceptical on who can fix it properly because multiple mechanics recommend removing it but I don't want to cop the fines or smoke plume people out behind me. At my wits end with mechanics I just want in going properly 😢
@@theautomotiveclinic3582both pipes were fine. But had oil in them. Pipe that goes from air filter box into turbo had some oil in it. Iam in Brisbane unfortunately 😢 At my wits end with it. Any recommendations for this area? Dpf never been chemically cleaned, should I have it done? I really think Mitsubishi has done a number on me. Its only been serviced there and have spent over $2500 for nothing. Its currently in limp mode again for the forth time. If I drop the oil and refill myself will it be OK to drive to a recommend professional because it is overfull with diesel. 😢
@@theautomotiveclinic3582also will it's air intake need a full clean out? I want to fix it properly and sell it properly fixed 😢 I noticed in another video that the computer oil levels and fuel consumption had to be reconfigured. Iam thinking if Mitsubishi can't fix their own vehicles correctly I should have a word to fair trading.
Hi mate, great vid and awesome knowledge share. Where is a good place in Perth you would recommend? I've just got the flashing DPF light issue. @@theautomotiveclinic3582
Check intercooler hoses for any splits as this is what will throw off the DPF system. Check oil level if at the x it's time for a oil change + oil level reset (some mobs fail to do this as I find out)

Talk to Auto Basics. Jason seems to understand triton issues.
