The aggressive tires with the steel wheels is an underrated look in my opinion
For real! Haha. I think they look sick.
@FLTRUCKSTRAVEL are they stock wheels?
@@thomaslehmann5981 yes. Stock 16” wheels that come on the S model Frontiers
@FLTRUCKSTRAVEL love it reminds me of a bad ass 80s toyota.
Old school.
What kind of dipshit needs a camera underneath to drive off road?
My thoughts exactly
I have the SV premium package, for a year too , not problem at all, excellent truck , I’m not that picky like this guy on the video , be grateful of what you have !!!
I just got a used one with the premium SV package. Man this thing is SWEET! I think it's hilarious that just about the time Toyota ended their V6 for the Tacoma, Nissan ended the 4 cylinder for the Frontier 😂Genius move IMO!
I love the looks, in reality it's basic, but it looks so clean and badass.
Thanks man. Thanks for watching
Sick truck sir. I have a 2018 Titan P4X that's been great to me since 2018. Almost 50k on her now. Since these new Frontiers have came out, I dig the looks of them. Nice to see a base model given some love. Looks great. I too think its hilarious that ALL manufacturers offer the halogens on the base models. It probably costs them more to have those different parts on hand to make 2 kinds...Purely incentive to pressure you into the next trim line. Can't think of any other reason lol. Cheers man.
You're 100% right.
Alternatively though, lot cheaper to replace a regular bulb than the new LED assemblies and probably safer because people are more inclined to replace them faster. The amount of newer vehicles I see with one side of LED's burned out is nuts
Frontier= Crawl ratio 60:1 fully boxed titan frame (ability to titan swap suspension/engine) , Dana 44 locking rear (pro4x) , dana front diff, spicer transfer case, powerful vq motor, rear disc brakes, bullet proof and made in USA. Tacoma= 33:1 crawl ratio, C channel frame (on going corrosion frame recalls) , rear drum brakes, now made in Mexico, reliability declining and Toyota tax.
Just keep an eye on that dana 44. They leak and get water in them on every damn truck that has it. Otherwise its great!
@@paultruesdale7680 57:1 I was off
@@270eman I had the breather extended on mine to prevent this issue.
I did't realize the crawl ratio is that low wow
The more I hear about the frontier the more I am impressed. Just learning about the Titan swap availability.
What a beautiful truck dressed in this nice red and wearing this tires. Congrats. This Frontier lasts a life well maintained.
The toughest looking one I've seen .. I love you didn't get all the plastic gimmicks.
Yeah I like to keep it clean. Thanks for watching buddy!
I love the looks of the olive green colored Nissan Frontiers. The one is was looking at at the dealer had the blk light bar in the bed with led lights. Front end looks well designed and the bed is workable for my needs.
Kind of nitpicking, but when you spend that much money, and are still paying, I can understand. I am just glad your issues are minor. For me, big issues would be engine, or drivetrain issues. If there are none there, you’ve got a great truck. I am still driving my 99 Silverado Vortec v8, 400,010 miles, and I have a feeling this truck engine is in that category.
Yeah. All of the issues are very minor. Drivetrain has been 100% solid. Those Vortec’s will run forever no doubt.
I've had a long list of random issues with mine. Been in the shop a lot. It's actually there right now.
Damn that sucks
What kind of issues have you been having? Would you recommend the truck?
@State Jake I'd lease one but not buy one for a couple years to work the bugs out. It's at the dealership right now for a brake booster or master cylinder I don't remember. Rear seat won't stay up and dome light. That's just this time
The shifter knob movement drives me crazy!
The little plastic piece that covers the key hole on the drivers side door just broke on mine. It’s a 2023 I’ve had just over a year and a half.
👀 that sucks.
Was interested in the Tacoma but going with this truck. I like the styling and the price a lot more.
I may be biased but I think you made a good choice 👍🏻
Great choice Bro
Same. Like Toyota, but especially with the new engine changes, im looking at the frontier being my next vehicle when i can afford it. Looks better than the tacoma too imo.
I'm not a red truck guy normally, but that's a good looking truck....I think it's the black trim and windows.
I’m not a red truck guy either 😂. I feel like it’s a grandpa color. But, I will say…it’s growing on me
thanks for the 1 year review!
Thanks for watching!
I'm pretty sure I would have left out the whole shifter part of the video...
Haha. That’s a fair point😂
@@4wdAdventurz Yeah. Looked like you were having a little too much fun doing that! Lol.
Yeah, I hadn't even noticed...but now...😐
Looks good. I got the Pro a month ago. The slack in the shifter was one of the first things I noticed. But not a big deal. Thanks for the link on the screen protector 😀
Your welcome! Thanks for watching buddy! Hope you subscribed!

PRO...what? PRO-4X? PRO-X?
@@travelinman482 he mentions in the video it’s an s model.
Love the look of the steel wheels.
Right!? I love them!
My 2022 Pro 4 has been solid, but the passenger side window is the slowest moving window I've ever seen. Also, the transmission does some wierd stuff on occasion, but nothing that is on going.
I order the 2023 pro4x frontier and can not wait to get it , love the new body style , also in red to match my wife new 2023 Merano
Finally a real review! 👍
My 2017 S model came with 15 steelies and I have crank powered windows👍
I looooove the steelies! They are so underrated.
I've added the Lasfit Led HEad lamps, fog lamps, and Led inside lights, tonneau cover, steal side steps, weather tech mats interior to my 2022 SV at 33K now with no problem but the same door issue, driver side on mine. Tires and leveling kit are next.
Now that Toyota has ruined the new Tacoma I'd like to try a Nissan but I've never seen one in 20 years that didn't have major problems before 100,000 miles. Good looking truck, looks almost a twin to a Tacoma
I wouldn't do it, probably going to go Toyota personally
@@shaquileoatmeal7365 I can't buy Toyota until they fix this current engine issue they're having. I don't want a 4 cyl , especially not a turbo 4cyl
Glad to hear these trucks can still do a Titan Swap.
Man! That truck looks awesome! Nice rig bruv!
Thanks man!
With 25k on it i'd get that latch looked at right away. 11000 miles will go by really fast.
Agreed.
I thought Nissan has a 5 year 100,000 mile bumper to bumper warranty, at least that's what I was told at dealership here in Tennessee
They will deny the claim. They will blame the latch on the lift kit....😁
@@thomaslehmann5981 I wouldn't doubt it
@@thomaslehmann5981No they won't, it's a 5 min adjustment.
Can't beat the look of those steelies.
Right!? I think they look dope. Thanks for watching Brad!
One thing that made me smile is that cabin of the new car smells exactly the same as old soviet cars when they were new.
I had 4 nissan and infinity's through my 20s and 30s. They all started to have issues to varying degrees at 80-100k then major issues at 130-150k. Loved how they looked and performed but I like to keep my autos a long time and wanted more long term reliability. Switched to a 4runner 3 yrs ago, don't think im going back. Nissan is putting out some nice vehicles though
Definitely can’t go wrong with a 4Runner! We’ll see how this Nissan goes!
Frontiers are proven to be bullet proof. Any vehicle with a CVT transmission is garbage or a turbo engine like the new Taco's.
What Nissans / Infinity's?
Frontier / 2nd Gen Xterra are greatly different than sedans.
I had a 2012 Xterra Pro4x - sold it at 135K miles - shouldn't have. Not a problem and I took that everywhere.
@@thekeithlane 95 pathinder, (2) QX4, M37s. The first two I had in my teens and 20's, so if im honest I drove them a lot harder and wasn't as meticulous with all my maintenance. M37s I was though and treated well. With my current 4runner, everything just feels so solid on the interior and really shows no wear, can't say I had it to that extent with prior. I actually just bought a 1991 nissan 300zx twin turbo in mint condition with 50k miles as a second car. So guess my statement on not every going back didnt hold up lol
@@jsnow6925 that’s cool! I’m not dogging on 4Runners- they are solid.
The 300zx was and has been one of my favorites, good luck with that gem!
Surprisingly nice looking truck
What you mean " surprisingly" 🤣
Don't you think you should at least buy the shifter dinner before you do that?
😂😂😂😂😂.
Hahaha...good one!!
I have the exact same truck. My driver side door catches too sometimes. Other than that I like the truck
I liked the color of your truck so much, i went a purchased a 2024 pro4x alert red. Sun roof leather and all options. I love the truck , i will check my shifter lifter 🙂
Ah! I’d love to have a sunroof!
The titan looks bad ass too.
5:25 😂 i also find myself doing that but not to the shifter stick 🤣
A little lubricant in the latches , hinges , silicon the seals should regularly be done,
Sweet truck, love it.❤
Wish they had a manual transmission option
Yeah those are becoming hard to find in any truck now
Very nice mods on your truck
Got mine yesterday
Love ❤ the truck 👍🏾 I’d get fender flares or splash guards 😊 protect that paint 🎨
I think all of the 4x4 models should have come with fender flares from the factory.
@@gregoryhodge9452 Totally agree
The steelies do look good with those aggressive tires. I still haven't brought my 2022 Frontier for the transmission recall because the dealership won't come get it. My only complaint is the thing still turns like a container ship.
yeah, the turning radius still is terrible lol
Awesome looking truck and love the aggressive stance! RC has a 2.5 leveling front struts, no spacers and 0-2" rear shocks and rear lift kit available for the new Frontier's. Will be trading my 2010 Tacoma for a Boulder or Gunmetal gray Pro4x soon. Thanks for sharing brother!
👎👎 I have a 2022 Nissan frontier and I would trade it for a 2018 frontier in a fucking heartbeat 👎👎
Hey wassup bro I live in Florida too I believe I’ve actually seen your truck on the road before, I drive a 2020 Nissan frontier midnight edition I recognized ur tailgate 🤙🏼
Yoo! You might of! I'm in Ocala area
Review of your added accessories after 1 year . I was looking for a Nissan quality review.
I tell ya, those Nissan's are bad ass!
I'm gonna guess the issue with the sticking door latch could be fixed with a little bit of cleaning and lubrication. I dealt with a similar issue on one of my vehicles with brake cleaner, WD-40, and penetrating lubricant... In that order
Follow that up with some actual lubricant though
Yep. I'd spray the latch down with some brake cleaner to get it nice and clean and then apply some lithium grease. I bet it will work like a champ after than.
5:27 yes. I too do that in traffic.
Solid review
Thanks dude!
Beautiful truck Bro!
Did you ever think of blacking out the rims?
Love the tires!
These are my Frontiers I've owned 1989,1993,2005 they were all Awesome! My 1993 had 3inch lift.
I plan on getting some nice bronze wheels in the future. I think the bronze looks really good with the red.
@FLTRUCKSTRAVEL cool !
I'm into the blacken out theme now.
I want to buy one but they're to over priced right now.
My 2005 Frontier Ls was $28.800 and fully loaded at that time .
I think the back seats were great and so did my friends.
@@brad4527 yeah it was a different world in 05 😂
Truck looks really good! Does your truck come with Apple CarPlay?
Great review man and can’t wait to see it in person soon✌️
Next time you head out, let me know. I’ll definitely come along!
@@4wdAdventurz I’ll be at the expo in stark this weekend if your going. I’m meeting up with a few rigs from here then riding out to meet Marc with Five Angels Outdoor.
@@adventureoffroadx I’ll be there!
I want this. Looks clean and its fun. But am also considering a ranger or a Colorado.
The Nissan has been solid so far. The new Colorado’s look nice too
Nice looking rig.
I would rather have halogen bulbs that dont blind my fellow drivers on the road then those bright blinding led’s
Nah they aren't that bright..
i have the same truck about the door i find if you open it fast it gets caught
My shifter has had that movement since new
Nice truck , good job !
Thanks Clint!
Put white lithium grease on all of the latches. That is what the dealer would do to fix the issue.
Your truck looks really good. I just have 2 questions, I apologize if you already said it. What size tires are you running, and did your frontier come with 2 front tow hooks or did you add one in? I have an S King cab model and mine only came with one on the passenger side.
The tires were a 265/70/16. Almosg the same size as stock. The truck came with 2 tow hooks.
beautiful truck
Thanks man!
Great input on your truck. I'm waiting for the next Gen Tacoma before my next purchase, yet with rumors of a 4 cylinder only option for the Tacoma, I'll be definitely looking into buying the Frontier. V6 or bust. Lol. It's a Great looking truck, no doubt.
2024 taco has smaller engine
Thanks for watching Frank! I’m 90% sure the ‘24 yota will have a 4cyl. 😬 I might be wrong though.
@Florida Trucks & Travel lol, I hope you're wrong, but I believe you are 100% correct. All is good, Frontier here I go. 👍✌️
@Fawlous so sad, but thankfully, the Frontier will take its place then. 👍✌️
@@car-diologist I was thinking the same about the nissan frontier but their reliability is not very good. I will purchase the trd sport tacoma 2023 instead, last 3 gen
Highly recommend doing the rear axle breather mod.
Yeah? I’ll look into it! Thanks Roberto!
You overlanders make me laugh have fun
Dude this truck looks SO FUCKING SICK bro!! Mad jealous. Would love one of these or older models but can't really afford to buy a newer truck currently
Nice truck i been renting one for couple days now
Only down side it suck on gas
Yeah the mpg isn't amazing, especially when you start to mod it. If your main concern is mpg, I'd probably look elsewhere.
Don't have as many miles as yours, but I really enjoy my Pro-4X. I opted for the KO2s. Have a hard shell and winch mount ordered. Can't wait to get those on. I might get the "Decked" system next spring.
I want a winch mounted soon. KO2's are a great tire. Cant go wrong with those.
Got them, the winch, and a hard shell with a cargo basket. My first adventure is just a few weeks away.
I just don't like the big front end that Nissan put on these newer Frontiers. I guess everybody else had done it so Nissan felt they had to do it as well.
I wanted to buy a SV long bed, but it's poorly equipped for the ridiculous price. It doesn't even get LED headlights, at over $40k. Truck prices are really pissing me off these days, but it seems like they're finally starting to come down. You can get discounts on the Frontier in most areas, but I'll never buy a SV long bed with halogen headlights, that's an insult.
Agreed. Any maker still putting halogen bulbs in anything over $30k ought to be embarrassed. Don't event get me started on truck prices..😂
I traded my '20 Midnight on the '22 and I wish since day one that I would have kept the '20.
1x(1/4/24)…….done thank you excellent
happy blinding on coming traffic.
🤣🤣🤣 they aren't that bright.
Looking forward to the Titan swap! Now figure how to get a 5.6 crate motor in there 😊
I’m working on it!! 😂😂 on both! 🤣🤣
@Florida Trucks & Travel
Good. Cause a "true Titan swap" is (V8) engine, (6spd) transmission, and front suspension.
@@travelinman482 At that point you just need to buy a titan.
@@swampssa
Why? A midsized truck [Frontier] with a bigger [V8] engine is a lot better for the trails than a heavy, full-size pickup.
That’s a beautiful truck - tasteful mods and the tires look sick. Would those tires work with the stock height? I’m thinking of getting this truck, and want to keep everything stock, but upgrade the tires
Thanks man! Yes they will! I have the tires installed a week or two before the lift. They will fit just fine. No rubbing.
I have a 2019 Altima, same deal with the shifter and I also like fidgeting with it lmao
Nice truck! Do you plan on keeping it long term? I have a 2020 Pro-4x and just passed 25k miles on her. No major issues, just the parking recall and the TCM update. I want to do a Titan swap too but will wait until I have at least 100k miles.
I’m not sure how long I’ll keep’er. At least another year or so I reckon.
Buy a can of WD40 for the door latch
where did you get the Steering Wheel cover? did you have someone install it - or do it yourself?
AutoZone. $20.😁
Personally run the Firestones on a Surburban hunting rig, absolutely fantastic snow and mud tire, great on those back country elk hunts.
Yes sir! I literally have 0 complaints with the tire when it’s off road. Idk if I’ll ever switch.
@@4wdAdventurz lol iv got 6 brand new ones tucked away in the barn, i like them so much I even got 2 new ones for my spares .. 🤣🤣
I prefer the halogen lights. LED lights too blinding for other drivers on the road. Halogen are bright enough. How did we manage prior LED lights? Sure only positive thing With LED lights is that they use less power and may last a little bit longer. Also LED lights not good for eyes in the house. Too bright and prone to glare.
that’s like saying, you prefer pony express over text messages...
Properly aimed factory installed led lights don’t blind oncoming drivers. I’ve read comments where people say with the halogen lights on these trucks sometimes they can’t even tell if their headlights are on. IIHS rates them as poor but the led versions as acceptable.
If you do some decently good off roading you need to do a titan swap on the frontier.
So the door latch and the shifter. That’s it. I just wanted a review of the truck’s dependability and longevity.
Not a big fan of Nissan’s, but that is a nice truck!
5:27 be careful if you do that too much you might go blind😂
I've been blind for almost 15yrs. IT ALL MAKES SENSE NOW!! 🤣🤣
I'll bet the door hanging problem is worse if the truck is sitting not level like on a slant or hill.
Honestly I haven't noticed. When I can find a hill I'll check. Being in FL, they are kinda hard to come by 😂
Have you had any issues offroading without having the locker like the pro4x?
Not really. I haven’t gotten stuck yet but I will say I also haven’t REALLY pushed it off-road.
New to Channel love the content, thinking of buying the new 2024 model wondering thoughts or regrets?
I can honestly say I don’t have any regrets buying this truck
You’re probably better off waiting for the 2025.
Those lights look fantastic. How's the visibility at night with them? For those of us who have to strain to see when it gets dark.
Honestly, the nighttime visibility is wonderful. However, when you engage the brights, it is a barely noticeable difference.
@@4wdAdventurz I like the sounds of that. Nice
Mama said don’t play with your stick shift
😂😂😂
Good looking truck. I'm leaning towards this S trim. Is there a way to add just a 2" lift without having that bucket contact? From what I've seen so far, the 6" lift is the only solution to stop that bucket contact from adding spacers. I don't need and wouldn't want a 6" lift. Thanks for sharing.
Yes. There are a few companies that offer 2.5 lift without using a spacer. All Dogs Off-road RCKill kit is one of the most popular ones.
@@4wdAdventurz Thankyou Sir
hi from Youngstown Ohio. We're boaters and my son wants to buy a boat for himself. He'll need a tow vehicle. Tacoma was the choice because of this= I owned a 2009 Nissan Altima with the shit Jatco tranny. I got rid of it and picked up a Camry. Heard Frontiers are also Jatco- But I learned the Frontier is a good truck and no comparsion to the front wheel drive crap. Why did you go Frontier and not Taco?
I bought the truck specifically for camping and offoading. I bought it instead of the Tacoma simply because of Tacoma in my opinion isn’t worth what they want. 💰💰
This truck will do everything a Tacoma will do, cost you less, and has a naturally aspirated V6 instead of a turbo.
@@4wdAdventurz yes, I heard Taco's going 4 cyl Turbo going foward . Absolutley ridiculous. No way in hell will you get the longevity like a v-6 . Nice going Toyota... Hey thanks for the info.
Yes. The stock s trim halogens suck.
I upgraded mine with auxito led bulbs for the factory reflector buckets.
Is it really hard to steer? The one I test drove was insanely difficult
Yeah. They’re all like that. Definitely a lot different then any other vehicle but you get use to it pretty quick
Nissan just doesn't have to same reliability as toyota and honda. I wanted the titan pro4x but decided to pay more for the tundra trd pro.... ive owned plenty of nissans in the past, im at the age where i dont want to deal with reliability issues.
Hope it was the previous model tundra or reliability isn't something you're going to get with that
Cool truck. New Frontier's look pretty sweet. So over the whole Toyota thing. Hope the aftermarket really opens up for these. What size tank does it have and what MPG's are you getting?
I think it's an 18 gal tank?? I might be wrong. As the truck sits now I get around 16ish city 17ish hwy
Its actually a 21 gallon tank. I just got done taking mine on a long road trip and averaged 23 mpg and that's mostly driving 70-80 mph on the freeway. But mines not lifted but looks awesome - midnight edition with black rims
I was able to get almost a 500 mile range per tank with mine
@@nateg0155Same here on mine. I had a 24.5 mpg on a recent trip.
Very nice looking truck it’s the fuel economy for me.
Has yours gotten rattly already. I have a knocking in the console as well, 25,000 miles.
Not really. I get a little squeaky sometimes but that’s from a bushing or somthing. That’s about it
You should've gone with the long bed. That tent on the short bed looks silly. 🔥🔥
I shouldve just gotten a smaller tent😂.
Nice truck but needs more time and probably 100,000 miles to make sure is dependable
We'll see how it does! At 37,336 right now. Thanks for watching!
You notice yours swaying in the highway at all? Also do people flash their lights at you with the level and brighter lights? Thinking you have your brights on?
Swaying? Ehhh not really. Maybe a little. And no, I don't get flashed.
I guess I missed the one year review. All I heard was what you did for upgrades.
Would you recommend last year (2021) style ? Not for the style but for functionality. I love the design of 2022 and newer but I don’t really have the money plus I actually like the shorter front end but what do you think about the 2021 ?
The 2021 is fine. Underneath the new body of the 2022, they are virtually the same to the previous generation.
@@4wdAdventurz ok thank you
