Just got the pack out 3 peice combo for 399. Awesome kit. Home Depot even honored the online promo and threw in a additional 5.0 battery and rapid charger!
Some people say this is better then the dcd996, imo its a tie, but this get the prize because how small and compact it is!!

How does this FPD2 model compare to the previous FPD? The specifications look very similar.
Are those Makita models? Or the names of the overseas Milwaukee variants?
Tool Craze those are the names of the overseas milwaukee variants i think, they look identical at least.
FPD-2 = gen 3
FPD = gen 2
CPD = gen 1
Its funny that they don't keep the same model designation, a lot of other brands keep the same designation

I think this would give the dewalt dcd996 a good run for its money.

You are correct, it's a 5.0 battery that came with the Gen 3 impact combo kit. A 15 cell battery would be too big on these
