Starting with 1/2" drill bit, then some diablo 1" spade bits moving to 1" Drill Bit and finally going to 4 1/2" x 1/2 Lag Screw in speed 1& 2. 👉I Used a 6ah High Output Battery 🔋 on BOTH TOOLS!
The 5ah battery was used to stand the other tool because I only have one 6ah. For those of you that didn't watch all the video.
Drill- Packedge in typical box, came with a tool bag (added bonus), two batteries, one charger, drill, and driver. Two words "plenty of Torque" ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxW1vOBRCMrgTCDEijzpVzDWsgI-Jm2iQv well I guess that's three. Nice upgrade from current setup. Has belt clips, I don't think I will be using those. Driver and drill were bigger than what I expected but it is an upgrade from the current setup. For the money I would say that this is a great setup for Professionals and DIY/Weekend warriors.
only 2 min in. just some constructive criticism. You always refer to "this one" or "that one" and it's confusing wich one you are talking about. refer to them as Gen 3 or Gen 4 so we know what your comments are applying to. especially if you are comparing. Sometimes you say "new one" and then i know you are talking about Gen4.
I picked up a gen 4 today and the first thing I noticed is the direction switch is moved further away from your hand and much less accidental changes now. Thanks Milwaukee for the little details.
Just made me notice, thats awesome
Great video.
I think everyone want to see the gen 4 hammer drill & impact driver go up against Flex.
I choose Flex. Better batteries. I have several m18 batteries that i bought at H.D. 2 years ago. Didn't keep the receipts and now milwaukee will not warranty because they say they're allmost 4 years old by the serial number. I'm done buying any more milwaukee and i will never step foot in a home depot again. They sell old batteries.
I allready have both flex circ saws and soon to get the stack lithium drill and impacter sets. The milwaukees will get fire sale sendoff...
Nice review!!! Exactly what I was looking for!!! Thank you!!!
Close! Thanks for the test💪
Your welcome 👍
I have the gen 3 would using a high output battery make a difference in its strength?
Nice video! Some decent upgrades for sure. I decided to upgrade my M12 Hammer Drill and Impact to the new Gen 3. So far I'm very impressed with both new tools. I think the M12 line got a better upgrade than the M18.
Just an FYI, you compared the air outflow with the 2904 on speed 2 and the 2804 on speed 1. Also, the 2904 has the HO battery which performs significantly better. These drills have different motors in them, the new drill has 30% more power at mid to high loads but is the same at low loads.
Physically, the 2904 has longer body than 2804... The difference of working not so significant. But the anti kick-back sensor seems like more secure for handling. Thankyou for sharing 👌🏼😁
I waited until the price dropped to buy the m18 fuel line of tools gen 3 I started with m12 cordless but because the m18 tools were expensive I decided to wait and wait for the new ones to arrive because I knew they had to discount back stock. So I paid a fraction of the price for new tools and I paid a lot less than they were a couple of months ago. Today I finally bought the m18 fuel router (tool only) it was 199.00 but I had a 10 dollar discount for in store purchases over 100 dollars and I had a couple gift cards from my birthday and Christmas gifts bottom line I paid 29.12 out of pocket for the balance and taxes. I’m incredibly excited about this new cordless router to add to my collection.
The anti-twist your wrist off feature is nice since not everybody is going to carry the drill around with the handle.
True 👍
If you're doing a head to head to see which one is faster etc then I think you should strongly consider timing each tool on each test because when you put them side by side you sometimes don't start them at the same time.
Get the gen 4 vs the dcd999 with 9ah FV battery, or the dcd998 with 6ah battery
I got the 2903-20 and it came with no hammer setting
Great video! Do you plan on getting the Gen 4 impact driver in the near future? Would love to see some comparisons against the Gen 3 and other competitors.
As soon as they are available
@@toolhead147 Home Depot shows they are available to purchase right now.
The mid-torque Gen 4 1/2" is my new favourite
The bracket for the handle is literally black for the new one that’s the easiest way to tell them apart
Picked up the gen 4 to drive 1/2x8” timber locks through a 4 ply girder lvl and it drove them in like nothing ive seen, also drilled through a foundation to install anchor bolts and drove it like butter highly recommend the gen 4 drill
We're you using an xc 5.0 battery?
The only thing this testing really needs to improve on is standardization of the applied pressure. Pressure affects the drilling speed for many applications.
I agree especially with the spade bit even with a screw pulling it in.
Thanks Tool Head 😎🛠️😎🛠️😎
Your welcome 👍
It would be good to see a comparison with the Dewalt DCD998
Here is the video ua-cam.com/video/UDc7lbhWSOQ/v-deo.html&feature=share9
I Like that the 2904 has the mechanical Clutch where the 2804 i believe has the electric clutch
What difference does it make?
Both are great tools, I get paid by the hour, so I'm fine with the 2804 taking 1 second longer to drill my hole.
True 👍
I would like to see the Gen4 vs the DeWalt 60v FlexVolt or DeWalt Power Detect w/8AH Battery. Then we will have a real showdown. But until Milwaukee fixes the issue of these drills and impact drivers shutting down when put under a heavy load, they will keep failing on real jobsites with hard work. The handles on the Gen3 get so hot that you can feel the heat burning through leather gloves.
That would be a nice match 👍
You should have ran the 6.0 on both drills
I did. I explained that on the beginning of the video.
@@toolhead147 ok didn't hear that or see that just saw the 5.0 on it at the end and figured you ran it the whole time
@@chrisholland2348 I don't have 2 6ah battery so I had to use the same one for both tools.

Just updated my Rigid 18 volt to the gen 3. Found a very lightly used set at a paw shop. Got the hammer drill and impact driver with 2 5 amp hour batteries and the charger for 200 out the door. I have to say going from my beat up old Rigid to the gen 3 Milwaukee was a huge improvement. However with that being said I have a lot of respect for the Rigid that hammer drill lasted 8 long years. And technically the Rigid is still going the chuck won’t grip drill bits anymore. That’s what spurred me to finally upgrade. I still plan to use the Rigid till it finally lets the smoke out. But I needed to have a good drill that actually holds bits.
Nice!

What is auto stop for ?
It stops the drill if it notices that the tool is moving around to prevent it from breaking your wrist lol. If you've ever been drilling into like a hard steel and the bit get stuck I've had the M18 drill kick and literally get ripped out of my hands. I should've been using the handle with it so it's my fault there. But the new Autostop feature will sense the tool moving and stop. He gave a great demonstration of that at 5:31 in the video.
Is this Autostop any different than the Anti-Kickback on Gen 3 2806-20? Thanks!
@innov81 I have the Gen 3 and it doesn't have this feature. My Hilti does. You hold the drill level with it running, then jerk it a quarter turn sharply and the motor cuts. I have this on My Hilti SF6H A22 and it's good. I have Milwaukee Gen3 combi and Impact. ( Or I did till I gave my Gen3 impact away as it's junk!). I run the Hilti and Milwaukee Combi's and the Hilti's are far superior to the Milwaukee's.
Dave.
gen4 가꼬싶다.
I like the lighter 2803
So, no concrete drilling
Свет это хорошо, Но! Лучше бы ты отличия патронов и фиксаторов показал! Потому как из 2853 биты периодически вылетают самопроизвольно...
6.0 High output is going to make a tool run alot better than a 5.0 XC ! I have the Gen 3 and I really like the tool but I want a clear picture how much better is the Gen 4 compared to the Gen 3 and this is not going to do it because of battery issue !
Its cool how they made it so you can cut off the autostop
Hilti has had this feature for a long time. It's a good safety feature.
Dave.
@@davesheppard8797 interesting… thought that was a first from Milwaukee.
@mannyfresh8504 No....my old Gen1 Hilti SF6H A22 had it too. I was using my Hilti Gen2 SF6H combi today. It is so very much superior to my Gen3 Milwaukee. The Hilti is better in every way.
Dave.
@@davesheppard8797 i’ve seen lately for sure hilti has sone advanced stuff going on. I like this touch sense tech too.
Yo
Wassup
That is a sad upgrade... No real improvement. I think the impact will have a difference.
i bet if both drills had same batteries, would perform same
He used the same batteries for the test. He even tells us at the beginning that he only has the 5.0 battery to show height.
my gen 3s chuck is useless ,it always lets go of the bit, hole saw or what ever. no matter how much i tighten it milwaukees quality has really gone down hill these past few years . i regret buying into their line of tools big time, as every tool i own from them has issues. i wish i'd of gone makita there not as powerful but are more reliable and repairable unlike the red ones
Comparacion injusta. No estan con la misma bateria. Uno es 5Ah y el otro High Output 😂😂😂😂
U must use SAME Battery!
I did!!!
3:03 did you leave the high output battery in the gen 4 and use a standard battery in the gen 3? that's the performance difference... not the drill models
Do you have to back the chuck off one click? It doesn’t mention it in the manual
Why?
