      A video covering the new engineer secondary would be neat, i really wanna use it due to the cool factor but any way i build it feels awkward compared to the powerhouse that is the breach cutter. Great vid as always.

    I still would like it more if you had more status effects than just fire be effective against robots. I don't even want more instakill tools, just more effective builds that aren't flame-based.
    However, it being more lenient with the grabs is really nice. I generally play really agressively (and don't worry - I fully acknowledge my deaths are my own fault, mostly) and having more of a window to get out of dodge if I get too close is a great change.

      Electrocution applies to so many weapons and overclocks, even though it’s not as common as fire I think that if they were to add another weakness it should be electricity

    I didn't even know this was a thing!
    I'd see the Nemi, ping it, then force feed it boolet while strafing around the arms.
    I know of the fire weakness, but I didn't know it'd go "wow, I'm dead" when fully overheated.

      I think it's because they want Nemesis to actually be a challenge. Because if there is a specific build for each class to counter him, then everyone would be using it and Nemesis would just become a pushover enemy that isn't challenging. It's supposed to be a hard enemy to deal with that requires the entire teams focus.

    The reason direct heating it with flames is a sysphean ordeal is because you’re trying to use face melter. Face melter provides no heat bonus, you need to use something with a mag size bonus so you aren’t wasting so much heat to reload. I use 22331 with compact feed valves.

      YMMV, but since you kill it very quickly and efficiently once you're also using the sticky flames anyways I don't consider the mag size enough of a downside to switch.
      Facemelter's +damage is very convenient because it allows you to have the +4 damage you'd get from the tier 2 +damage mod, except you're getting it from your OC slot which means you can also take tier 2 +heat. The damage is very nice for regular bugs, after all, and you're never going to be fighting just robots.

      @@bakshir It does, yes. And while I'm taking the ammo mod over the rate of fire mod(again, because I want this to be good against everything, not _just_ nemesis), you could take rate of fire for even quicker overheating.

      @@LazyMaybe true, but my build is a kite and keep up DoT like neurotoxin on the autocannon. A puff of flames will deal enough damage that you only need to take one or two steps back from grunts before the fire DoT finishes them off in the worst of scenarios. Against anything bigger I’ve really been enjoying chunking with temp shock Colette. It does suffer a bit without sticky flame duration but I enjoy the excess of ammo

    For some reason incendiary grenade's are not very effective on the ground but if get a direct hit they will set nemesis to half fire so it will die in 2 incendiary grenade's

    Tbh I was always using the flamethrower anyway, but it's a bit unfortunate that these changes had the side-effect of making sludge fires less useful for the nemesis. Thanks for the informative video!

      I main driller and tbh, except dreadnaughts, i rarely get direclty involved with killing bulks or Nemesis. Im usually more focused on clearing obstacles / drilling an easy way out if we get caught with our pants down. The entire driller arsenal is kinda meh at direct damage unless you sacrifice everything for it.

      @@samssa7813 For me and my friends, the utility of the driller for Bulks is that you can help the scout freeze them, or use the sludge and microwave gun to essentially immobilize them.

    I think the reason ground flames might've killed really quickly was because it counted as hit multiple weakspots? Not to sure but there aren't many enemies with the same amount of destructible weakespots, I think caretaker and goobomber are right behind it.

    The direct heat flamethrower builds need the balanced magazine increase oc. Being able to continuously light it up while only reloading when it throws out shields makes it so you can kill it with little more than ~150 fuel/2 magazines. Costly on you but saves the team ammo. Besides, with the microwave the main job for the flamethrower is now to proc burning state so you can cook them, and the mag size helps.

      If you didn't notice, from 1:31 on I overheated nemesis in around 12 seconds with about 50 ammo spent. I'm not sure that a strat that spends ~150 fuel to get there is really competitive relative to that.

      @@LazyMaybe still better than the 240 you spent where you didn't even kill it lol. I was just giving the option of direct damage alone without using sticky flames. Plus, I might've overestimated the fuel used a bit. Better to end up using less fuel than expected than not having enough.

    2 questions for Engineer!
    Does Armor Breaking matter too much for your weapons? Couldn't you just run it on the turrets?
    Does Triple Line Split offer something more than Plasma Trail?

    As a Gunner main, I called it right after I discovered it. "That's way too easy... This is gonna get patched."
    Truth be told, I like this better. I've never been a fan of overly effective tactics and this now puts a little more thought into build choices and team comps. Nothing like having a Nemesis show up, hearing En-G call out "Gunner, need a grenade over here!" and then combine our heat weapons with the incendiary flames to smoke the Nemesis. It's a great feeling, to work with my team to bring one down, rather than hurling one grenade and that being the end of it.

    I was just playing on haz 2 or 3 earlier and had a nemesis right at the start of a mission (now that was a shock!) get TAKEN THE FUCK APART by *BOSCO* while I was still running away and getting the lay of the cavern to start defending

    Face melter is not the best option for nemesis. I made a dedicated build that relies on increased heat rate + faster fuel flow rate.
    This allows me to overheat a Nemesis with just a single fuel canister (50 ammo). Nemesis 's shield can still be an issue though, but it isn't too bad. Flamethrower becomes slightly ammo hungry with the increased flow rate mod but it's manageable. I use a green overclock that gives more damage and sticky flame duration (this purposefully needed because I'm using it with wave cooker to instantly get rid of hordes.)
    The balanced overclock that gives you more range is also a good choice, you can pretty much have a huge 20m range on the flame and you can keep yourself at a distance.

      Yes. But deleting patrol bots with heat SD is very good for rival threat.

      @@archduke0000 It seems to be related to sticky flames. I just had a mission where i ignited 3 turrets with sticky and 3 with direct flame. None of the sticky ones died when they ignited, and neither did the nemesis that spawned.

      i mean its not really accurate since the vid is just one person trying to kill a haz 5 nemesis with the health scaling as if it's 4 players. You probably need some help from other people to take down nemesis, which is intended. Though it's still sad that the scouts job then becomes the reviver and cant really deal with nemesis effectively

      @@RexelBartolome heat values are the same regardless of player number
      and you can kill it without igniting it so saying scout isn't effective is a bit silly
      like I said, igniting nemesis requires overspecializing, meaning most players won't build for it
      so killing it the regular way will be more common and even scout can contribute "effectively" by sniping those weakpoints

    Why is face melter the go-to for bots? You’d think a build with similar heat/fire rate amounts as Face melter but over double the mag size would help…

      Face melter gives you both rate of fire and also damage-and since you're getting damage out of your OC slot, you can pick the +heat mod in tier 2 while still retaining the same amount of direct damage that you'd normally need the tier 2 damage mod for. So you still kill regular bugs quickly while also overheating bots very fast.
      I don't find the low mag size to be a problem in practice-you can kill 2 patrol bots in one mag anyways, and sweep over whole crowds of grunts to ignite them all for little ammo. And nemesis' barrier provides good timings to reload anyways.
      In the previous video I mention that you may prefer to use other OCs, though, and really the actually important things wrt killing nemesis are just +heat and sticky flames. So there's a lot of flexibility here and no need to follow exactly what I do.

    for gunner wouldn't the most effective heat damage be a plasma burster missiles build with Napalm-Infused Rounds for tier 5?

      It's a little finnicky, the barrier spawning will sometimes cause your circling missiles to all crash at inopportune times. It can definitely get you more reward vs nemesis but a rate of fire up is more consistent, and also a lot better for some of the other stuff you run into on rival threat missions(like sniper turrets and normal enemies).

    i find minigunning the nemesis is still a very good option for gunner especially if u solo with bosco. Also another thing i found is that bosco can solo nemesis if he engages it on his own, it keeps the nemesis non-aggro since you are not attacking or ordering bosco to attack it so its also literally a no ammo way to destroy nemesis

      and you don't get a reward for killing bulks either

      @@comet.x bulks are easier to deal with since they have less range compared to Nemesis and don't always one-shot you. You can also use a bulk's explosion to your advantage, not to mention the existence of crassus

      @@comet.x crassus detonator would like to know your location. Also prospectors drop resources and data cube. I don't even ask for resources, just and exp bonus at the end of the mission for killing a nemesis.

    I think going all out on damage with facemelter is a bad idea, the only overclock i have for the crspr is sticky fuel and i dont like it. So i use a general max heat with expanded tanks in tier one and im able to one-tank Nemesis almost everytime

    Tbh the nemesis wasn't that bad to begin with, I think people just couldn't adapt and then complained. All of the guys I play with complained that it was bullshit but then always tried fighting too close. Just treat it like you're fighting a bulk

      Bulks are very easy to deal with solo as any class except driller. Colette Wave Cooker might change that for him.
      But usually a combination of paying attention to sound cues that a bulk is alive and using CC while kiting completely nullifies any threat it could have except on sit and defend the point missions.

      @@Orudaiken yea I agree dets are not a problem, and driller can deal with them ok you just have to be more patient and deal with them last. Otherwise bosco with can help slow him down a lot and and allow you to play the game like normal, but in a different corner of the map

      Oh yeah man I absolutely love that, the only thing I love more is how every robot can go through gunner's bubble and the caretaker being able to tentacle you from the outside and deal damage

    This season has become cancer! I agree Nemesis was to easy with heat before but this is crippling. Drillers new secondary got a massive nerf and now heat is nerfed on Nemesis. Last weeks elite deep dive was also cancer with massive Nemesis spawn rates and trash layouts.

    So basically, a unbalanced and annoying addition to the game just got a lot more annoying. Honestly, DRG is a instant CLASSIC for me, but since the inclusion of the rivals (the ROBOTS, specifically), it is a chore to do missions, while before it was just a hard, but still chill, game.

      Its ok for the most part until you have to defend and this mofo came of out nowhere
